[Freebuild] Galder the Green and the Gliding Goo
Kai NRG replied to Aurore's topic in Guilds of Historica
I love how you embraced this category to turn something that wouldn't normally be green into all different shades, almost makes it look like there's a strong green light from the portal or something. The minifigure is pretty fun too. Where is that goo piece from? -
Eslandola Mini-Challenge: The Return of the King
Kai NRG replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I haven't got any of the "real" Gwuinees, I might be able to sneak something cute and furry in there though if I remember to pick some up. -
What a clever use of a white paintbrush for a candle! Very nice little vignette!

[COR-FB] A mayor for Queenston and a reply for the WTC
Kai NRG replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Lovely light yellow building, I love the bushy plants too and the subtle texture on the flat roof is great. And it's great to see the toucan popping up in more BoBS builds! -
Now where is this going? I didn't expect to see the Marquis dancing! Great job on both the exterior and interior (I especially like the trees, fun sort of cartoony style). The cone skirts are great.

[OL - FB] Lacroix Oliveyard, a quiet start
Kai NRG replied to Thomas Waagenaar's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
This is really really cool, love the olive trees and the slightly muted colorscheme (pink flowers are a great little bit of contrasting touch!). The sand green shutters are sweet too. -
[SR- Eslandola Mini-Challenge, Category B] Freedom Tower
Kai NRG replied to NOD's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Really neat round tower, I especially like the arches over the windows--those macaroni tiles work great with the tile technique you used for the whole tower. -
[ESL - RotK - Cat A] We fight for the Count!
Kai NRG replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Oh dear, this got dark! I agree with NOD, probably a friendly visit, a practical joke, a birthday surprise... Did you sticker those window panes? Looks nice! -
[ESL - troops] Arming the recruits
Kai NRG replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Neat job on the floor, great variety of cracks and colors! -
This is a really neat build, the stairs are great, some intriguing fauna too. I like the variety of greens you've used! And the photo is really sharp!

[COR-FB] A rear-admiral to the front line
Kai NRG replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Lots of great colors on this beach scene! Clever use of that yellow star, I never thought of making it a starfish!! -
Hurrah! Hurrah! Once more, Hurrah! I'll never stop enjoying that oversized hat. The trashcan you snuck in there is pretty fun too.

It's never too late to say something nice like that! Thank you!

What great colors for a ship! Super unique, she must be quite a fascinating thing to come across on the high seas!

The Marquis: Origins - Chapter 5 - The Poker Game
Kai NRG replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you monkeys, we needed some good news. I definitely didn't see this coming! The bald head piece after the ci-devant Marquis took off his wig made me smile. I also love how the wig is such an important part of being a Marquis.- 9 replies

This is really cool--like Garmadon says, tall bookshelves are always cool! I love how huge the main story is compared to the cellar and how unexpected that is from the outside. This would be a fun build to squeeze in between my favorite books on a shelf--and with a fun surprise inside for whoever takes it out!

Oh yes!! So many layers, so much fun! Starting on the bottom with that shrunken skeleton head (which reminds me that I need one of those...) and the excellent curves of that cavern, then there's also all those delicious looking cheeses and the deep blue of the well. And if that isn't a spooky plant I've never seen one! What a great use of the starry night print, and the urns in the crypt are really clever. All the "jumble" of the next level is great, and I really like the way you positioned the spider's web--and that brings us to the top, with some great angles on that wall. Overall, it's such a fun build to explore. Great work!

The Marquis: Origins - Chapter 4 - The Storm
Kai NRG replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The rain was a nice touch for all these scenes. It really helps set the mood of the story. The brickbuilt sky is great too, I especially like the red in it.- 6 replies

[COR-FB] Supply Dock at Fort Stockton, Wullham
Kai NRG replied to evancelt's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Why do letters work so well for windows?!?! That's just so good. And the rock formations--I absolutely love that technique, never crossed my mind to do it for a historical build! They look great.- 18 replies

The tower is epic, the lights are very cool, and I love those dragons... but all those light green hairs on the trees? Genius.

This is amazing, you can really see how much work you put into this--the careful detail that's gone into every part of this is really next level. The lighting and sound effects are sweet. Just fantastic.

Great troop raising scene. There's something about two rows of tricorns that will never get old! The ground colors are also really nice.

[COR-MiniChallenge RotK-CatA] The Hero of Puerto Desafio
Kai NRG replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
So lovely how you can get a 3D portrait effect with your minifigure posing... really sweet vignette! Boy, you do have a point. I may need to build entries for both sides. -
L'Ascensione dell'Architetto (Full Collab)
Kai NRG replied to W Navarre's topic in Guilds of Historica
I read it! Lots of twists and turns, Arama and Ilazio are both really intriguing characters... in both senses of the words. Great job on the writing and the builds too, it's great to see more of these backstabbing stories really fleshing out what Varlyrio is all about!
