  1. To all those who sail the Brick Seas - Gather round! This month, two infamous pirates (Harrison Torn and Gregory Decker) have been doing "business" on the Brick Seas and captured a couple of trading vessels. But what would a pirate do with a trading vessel? All they want is to get their grubby fingers on a few shiny doubloons. So, they're offering their captured trade vessels for auction. Revenant, 2F Golden Filly, 5F PM me (@Kai NRG) with your highest bid. The highest bidder wins and will have to pay 5 DBs above the second highest bid (or his original bid, if that's less than 5 DBs over second). Once you have bid, drop a note in this thread stating the fact (but, of course, not the quantity). (Failure to comply with either of those two requirements will result in disqualification.) Auction ends May 27th, 12:00 noon, my time zone (GMT -4). You will not have to pay any further licensing fees, unless the ship would put you over the three ship bar. In case of a tie, first bidder wins. Be sure you will have the DBs available before the end of the month. Let the bidding begin!
  2. Procedure for Vessels Captured by Unknown: If your vessel has been captured by a ship that has struck its colors and is labelled in the Kings Port Advertiser as "Unknown," you may post a build that throws blame on some NPC privateer (this could be a MRCA result build). Subsequently, a disinterested leader will determine by the roll of a die (1/3 favorable probability) whether or not your build is accurate. If the roll is favorable, you will proceed to a build-off with the implicated nation. The build off will not occur until the month after the MRCA results in which your vessel has been captured have been published. To take advantage of this possibility, your build casting blame must occur in the same month of the capture (i.e. if the MRCA was the February MRCA, your build must occur in March, and the build-off, if applicable, will occur in April). Also, Property Up-licensing: We apologize for any inconvenience, but property up-licensing is too complicated within the automation system and will no longer be permissible.
  3. To the Worthy Citizens of Eslandola, This month the Secretary of State has drafted two routes. These are open first of all to any Eslandian citizen. If after the 25th of March there is still room available, citizens of the other nations may apply as well. Sea Rats will need a note of legitimacy from a respected authority. (How do you get that? I have no idea. If you're interested, you might want to get the letter ready before the 25th, so you can be first in line.) Slots are granted on a first-come-first-serve basis. Dragon's Teeth: High Risk. Escorted by the Dread Treasure, Gallant, and El Toro Bravo (@Faladrin). For two (2) speed ships. Ten slots available. La Transferrata, @TitusV - Flotilla A Fenix Rising, @Phadeout - Flotilla A Banana Boat, @Captain Braunsfeld - Flotilla A Aurei Lacerta, @Umbra-Manis - Flotilla B Cotton Lady, @Elostirion - Flotilla B The Golden Snake, @Kai NRG - Flotilla B Arkady, @TitusV - Flotilla C Winds Beauty, @Legostone - Flotilla C Double Duty: Medium Risk. Escorted by the Dark Lightning, Blessed Angel, and Dragon's Revenge (@TitusV). For three (3) speed ships. Ten slots available. Prince Fernando, MCTC - Flotilla A Wringe II, @Legostone - Flotilla A Far Horizon, @Capt Wolf - Flotilla A Silver Scythe, @Sir Stig - Flotilla B Raenette, @Faladrin - Flotilla B Prince of Stedor, @Maxim I - Flotilla B Pride of Elysabethtown, @Legostone - Flotilla C > How do I participate? Sign up in this thread for a slot on the run of your choice. Post a link to your build and be sure to specify what type of license you have. If you haven't done it already, fill out the ship license form. Then just follow the directions on the MRCA form and you'll be ready to go! Important! Eslandola provides escorts but does not guarantee safety! So what are you waiting for? Let the sign-ups begin! __________________Guy K. 4. The pine trees, rockwork, and snowscape all look fantastic, and I also really like the concept here! The overhanging bits of snow/ice look great too!
  5. I would have liked to see some white tiles or at least some sort of pattern to finish off the walls of the building, but I understand if brick constraints didn't allow for that. The press is very nice, I'm impressed (no pun intended ) with how well the 1x1 rounds worked as a screw even though they aren't really angled correctly! Also really like the guy setting type!
  6. Just FYI, Maxim, mentioned this before but it's still there - The Golden Snake is a WR, not a T.
  7. Thanks everyone! Now there's a possibility that never even crossed my mind. Yep. Something to keep in mind there! Thanks! Thank you! Yes, the coordination definitely helped this part of the storyline flow. Thanks! But, I did that! With the profile bricks. Okay, not too much variation, true. Thank you!
  8. MCTC members gather round for yet another venture! This month we are trying to license another MCTC sponsored trading vessel, the Prince Fernando! (Thanks to Capt Wolf for his generosity in building the ship!) Shares are 25 DB each. Each share brings in 5% of the profit. (The extra goes to MCTC in return for insurance; see below.) There are twelve shares available (not including MCTC's four shares). MCTC members can buy up to two shares each; first come first serve. Application begins now. @Capt Wolf has the right to buy out other member's shares whenever he so desires for their initial price of 25 DB. MCTC will provide insurance. 20 DBs per share if sunk by weather, 15 DBs if sunk by an enemy, 10 DBs if captured. Insurance involves paperwork. MCTC has a 2 month window in which to pay up. Please transfer to the MCTC account immediately after applying. Guy K, Wyndzon would like to invest in two shares!
  9. Thank you everyone for the comments! I'm going, I'm going! Thanks! Glad to hear that! Thank you! Thanks Bregir! I hope the two stories mix isn't too terribly confusing!
  10. Eslandola Islands: #5 Torrach Bonn - Ch I #6 Ferro Azure - Ch I #1 Isla Phillip - Ch II
  11. Thanks, corrections made. Sistership: Yes, the builders can sistership by filling out another license form (with a different name) whenever they please. However, as the ship is still in the game, it makes sense to auction it - though it certainly wouldn't make sense for the builder to bid on it for more than a sistership would cost. The only case in which trade vessels captured by a pirate shouldn't be auctioned would be if they were or could become the builder's free license. Yes. Pirate captures warship = she gone! Pirate captures trade vessel = auction (what would a pirate do with a trade vessel? Oh, that's right, turn Sea Rat. ) Privateer captures warship = build-off Privateer captures trade vessel = build-off
  12. Thanks! Forests are always cool... but also take up a lot of foliage pieces... Thank you! Building all the stuff to put inside is always so much fun! Thank you! Thanks! Making it open that way wasn't too easy! Thank you!
  13. Thanks! Thank you!
  14. The amount of captures as a result of last month's MRCA have been quite surprising. The rules are as follows: Warships captured by pirates will not be returned. Trading vessels captured by pirates will be auctioned. All vessels captured by privateers (where the privateering nation and the vessel's nation are not at war) will be returned or not returned via a build-off procedure, unless the owner(s) of the vessel specifically request not to have a build-off (in which case they will not be returned). Caveat: If a captured ship was or can become the builder's free license ship (i.e. if the builder has no other ships of a class 2 or higher and no free license), then said ship will not be included in any of these return actions unless the builder specifically requests to be included. List of Vessels The following warships were captured by pirates. Nothing can be done towards the retrieval of these ships. Corrington, HMS Kite, 4A Oleon, HRS Eltina Dukesc, The Meteor Oleon, HRS Granoleon Corrington, HMS Queen’s Glory, 5HA Oleon, HRS Astrapi Oleon, HRS Loraithian Captain Genaro, Pride of Poseidon The following trade vessels were captured by pirates. As per the rules, these ships will be blind auctioned. If you for whatever reason do not wish to loose the name, let us know and we will tell the buyer to change the ship's name. KolonialBeamter, Revenant, 2F (C. Harrison Torn) SilentWolf, Golden Filly, 5F (C. Gregory Decker) The following vessels were captured by privateers. Khorne, Torino (C. Carno, "El Matador") [free license; no procedure] Gideon, The Fairmont (C. Carno, "El Matador) [free license; no procedure] Corrington, HMS Bull Shark (C. Carno, "Bloodsucker”) azog, Dagger (C. Mardier, Gernaldo) [free license; no procedure] The following vessels were taken by Unknown. If the owners of these vessels wish, they may build a MOC this month that throws blame upon an NPC privateer. A disinterested leader will then determine by the roll of the die whether or not the MOC is accurate. If so, the case will proceed to a build-off with the NPC nation being blamed. MKJoshA, La Oleon Jacob Nion, Warbringer KolonialBeamter, Scimitar KolonialBeamter, Commerce de Breshaun What's next? The Revenant and the Golden Filly will be blind auctioned. I will be setting up a topic for this as soon as possible. There is one build off: Corrington vs. Carno. I will start a topic for this also as soon as possible. Important! Anyone whose free-license ship has been captured and who now has a) no free license, b) no licensed ship of a class 2 or greater may disregard any actions suggested here and is free to MOC his/her MRCA results in such a way as to result in the return of his/her vessel. Be sure to fill out the ship license form again, however. In the future when dealing with captured ship returns I will use this same topic but the build-offs and/or auctions will be given their own topics. It wasn't always easy for me to tell exactly what/whose these vessels were, so if I have made a mistake in my arrangements anywhere, please let me know! If anyone has any questions or corrections speak up!
  15. I hadn't considered that before; could well be the case. If so, the pirates option should certainly be renamed. I had assumed that Sea Rats and NPC pirates were being lumped together, which was part of what led to our previous misunderstanding.
  16. Yup. It's kinder complifscated with all these ships and I still haven't even really figured out what's what and who is whose, so it'll take me a bit. I will try to make it as player-input driven as possible.
  17. Indeed, we attacked no Sea Rats. We didn't even attack NPC pirates. We just went merrily along our business this month, and if a few NPCs danced right up to our escorts and we swallowed them, that sure ain't our fault! It may be worth noting, by the by, that the predator MRCA form doesn't even differentiate between Sea Rats and NPC pirates - you have the choice to attack the various imperial nations, and the choice to attack "pirates." However, the nation of Eslandola went on no predator missions this month. @JN - oh, and what happened to the "yeah, sure, we all went on a massive predator run the first month, but we didn't capture anything! Who cares about our intentions?" In other news, finally, a run that's a bit better than my usual mediocre 30! 1. Yes; that is, we'll go with the official procedure outlined in the rules. Will take me a bit to sort it out, however. 2. I'm afraid I can't answer that question.
  18. There are two food groups in the world: the one you put cheese on, and the one you put chocolate on.

  19. The use of those yellow round pieces is really good! Adds a very unique flair to what would otherwise be a pretty simple building. Your description of Francis is amusing, particularly with regards to the wig. Not sure if it's just the lighting though, but for some reason the yellow hands are really striking me wrong. However, on the subject of yellow, the flowers out front are great!
  20. A really nice ship, the red and black colorscheme makes it look very appealing and playable. I really like how smooth and glossy the whole thing looks! The coiled snake flag is neat too!
  21. It happened to Garmadon too. Well, actually, the wind knocked over the white posterboard, which in turn knocked down all the masts... Quite a pain! I've been busy building lately a bit too (picture = link to topic):
  22. This is a continuation of the detective's story; you can see the introduction and the previous part. A nasty slime pit that was once a well is hardly a place most people would choose to get some quiet thinking done; but, as his wife would have gladly told you, Rhys Thomson was not "most people." He was quite well aware that (as his wife always said whenever he was searching for his misplaced monocle) "odd things turn up in odd places!" and, being a detective, he courted said odd places as much as he could, in the hopes of one day stumbling upon an odd thing. This particular day, Rhys was meditating upon the curiosity of having two murder cases on his hands at the same time, which seemed to involve different people, but which still struck him as being somehow intertwined. Deep in thought, he leaned against the wall of the old pit, ignoring the noxious vapors that rose to the surface. Suddenly he noticed a little bit of white rag floating in the green slime. He reached forward and jerked it up and was shocked to discover that, beneath it, up popped a head! "Who are you?!" Rhys Thomson exclaimed. "Wh-who- who am I?" the poor culprit stuttered. "I- I am a poor man, s-sir, I've not done anything! I - " "Not done anything! Come now, my fine fellow, don't think you can hide from me," Rhys ejaculated in a commanding tone of scorn. "I know better than that! Tell me now! I seem to remember you, sneaking around, back in..." "Oh, no! No! It wasn't me, truly sir! I didn't do it!" the man faltered in terror. The detective smiled grimly to himself. "You may not have done it," he thought, "but you've done something, or you've seen something, and I'll make your talk, or my name isn't Rhys!" Then for a moment he fell to remembering how his wife had often said that he ought to have been named "Slys," as being more appropriate to the tendency he had for getting out of any housework - but, dismissing that subject from his mind, he continued, "Didn't do it, you say? Why, do you think a lie will help your cause now? Ha! You don't know who you're dealing with! Speak up, now, confess it!" "B-but, truly, I didn't! It was all his fault! I- I was just - just outside, standing there! And then, she went in - but no, no, I didn't do it! I had nothing to do with it!" "Oh ho! He and she, eh? Now we're getting somewhere!" thought the detective to himself. Out loud he said, "Little goose, not to know that to be silent is to be an accomplice! When he killed her, and you just..." "Killed her? Oh no, sir, she killed herself - I mean, that is - n-no - or - yes..." The poor man was becoming momentarily more befuddled than ever. To say truth, Rhys was a little befuddled too. Of course, he had just been making a wild guess, when he said that "he killed her," but this bit about suicide was throwing him off track pretty thoroughly. "Killed herself!" he exclaimed. "Now, really! Are you so sure of that?" For all his inward confusion, Rhys was just the person to pull a good bluff, so he sounded stern and tough and the poor man in the slime pit was thoroughly cowed. "Y-yes - I mean, n-no. She didn't kill herself, you know, sir, she just faked it, a-and - b-but, I didn't do it! He did it!" "Good night! Will I never get any names out of this slime?" thought Rhys. Then he resumed, "He did it, you say? Well! Prove it! - or, I will have to think that you are guilty." "I can! I can! See, see, he pulled out the gun - his own gun - and his bullets are all marked - his own mark - and - and - she can testify that I was standing outside, and I can testify that she was standing outside, and we can both testify that he did it!" Rhys twisted his mustache. Here was a puzzler. He had done it, and she had faked her death, and she knew it, and he knew it, and between it all, someone or another had clearly died! Rhys tried a bold move, in a guess. "Poor Jamie!" he breathed softly. The coward in the slime pit didn't contradict the name. "B-by the time I knew wh-what h-happened," he whimpered, "it- it was too late!" He half sobbed. "An-and now - now, we've got to kill Nacho too, an-and - we have to do it, or Don Gonzalo will kill us! just like he killed Jamie! an-an-" "Nacho! Don Gonzalo!" thought the detective. "Now we're getting somewhere!" Out loud he said, "Filthy scum! Come with me, and speak it out clearly, else, by my wife's beard, you'll spend the night behind bars!" Then Rhys added as an after thought - "Not that my wife has a beard, of course - it's just an expression." And he dragged the miserable man out of the slime pit and marched him along the streets. ...To be continued! A build mainly to advance the story-line, with the slime being a bit of an after thought; at first it was going to be a nice park, but then, I was tired of blue fountains. C&C appreciated! Thanks for looking, and for reading if you did so!
  23. Oh boy... here goes the F5 button again. (Actually, I haven't been doing that, but I'm sure plenty of other members will make up for my neglect. )
