Thanks Gideon! Sometimes it's hit or miss with what color background to go with. I personally often find that green shoots better against a colorful background than against white (maybe that's just my lack of expertise!); but blue might have been better than yellow.

Very nice ballroom, I really like the balcony and the curtains! The lantern design is simple but really works well. Great work!

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Kai NRG replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Yeah, I'm not sure it quite hits the palm on the head, but I think it has potential. And I really like the dashes of olive you've got going there. -
[COR - Jun FB2] Banana Plantation, Mooreton Bay
Kai NRG replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Really good banana plantation... your non-purist solution for the banana bunches really looks good. In fact the bananas add a dash of yellow to this vig that it definitely needed. Great palm trees too!- 7 replies

Really like how you angled the building, and the upside-down boat is great too. Very nice snowscape! +1 for the UoP credits.

Above the clouds - the great merchant's lift of Sultan's Gate
Kai NRG replied to Gabe's topic in Guilds of Historica
Fantastic build Gabe, the dash of pastel color inside the clouds is so pretty and I love the buildings built into the rock face as well as the rock work itself. The head there is just epic, and the sand green on the rock works really well!- 39 replies

The way you made the removable top roof and walls was ingenious! I really like the black roof as well, and great interior!- 11 replies

Thank you! Thanks! Thanks Gabe! Yeah, it could possibly have used a little something to put it over the top so to speak. Wooden supports in particular would probably have looked nice, good idea there.

Great jungle scene kabel, love that waterfall!

Welcome back, Gabe, good to see you again! -
Thanks everyone! Thanks Faladrin! Yes, it is a bit North African! Thank you! Masonry bricks are really awesome when it comes to the right amount of texture. Thanks! Yeah, it certainly has the clay color... I'd imagine so! Thanks BrickCurve! Thank you! Right behind the bars are several brown tiles that are meant to be a door... I didn't want you to see the medium dark flesh behind it.

Thanks everyone for the comments! I appreciate them! Good point! But maybe that's an apple pie lurking in the background? Thanks! Thank you! Yeah, I hope to use his Aunt a bit more... still need to flesh out her character more in my mind, she must obviously have lots of patience but other than that I'm not quite sure yet... Thanks SK! The moment I got that sword I knew my chef would have to use it! I'm still debating on whether to use him more or what exactly though... Thank you! Dark red is awesome! One of the most useful PAB expenditures I've ever made. Oh yeah, that road is a pain, despite the fact that I do have small fingers. It was nothing compared to my last one though... I mean, that one probably took 6 hours or so, this one only took one, I think! Thanks! Thanks Phadeout! Though this is actually in Weelond, but civic development is being pushed there too I hear. That kind of roof is so versatile, and yeah, maybe the road could use a few potholes but I'm always rather afraid that the potholes will become disproportionately large as messing those little rounds up has a bit of a domino effect! Thank you! Those actually aren't wheels... they're 1x1 light grey round tiles (which is even more of a pain!). Good idea there about the chimney. I had been planning one at some point, but just totally forgot! Thanks SilentWolf! I didn't get here overnight, so keep plugging away!

Thanks all! Look out for the next installment soon(ish)! Thank you! I intentionally omitted the detective's conversation with Castillo, because that would have told too much - but the gist of it is that Castillo put him on Mia's track (she isn't really an artist... more like a criminal... you'll have to wait and see... ). Thanks! Background colors can really add a ton and are very easy too - in fact, it's often easier to get really good pictures on color than it is on white! I'm trying to keep Rhys' character fairly consistent over the stories - which can be a little tough as I'm writing it by fits and starts whenever I build the next part, and I'm not always in the mood to think up something for his wife to say... Thanks! Yep, I'm getting some use out of that MDF right? Thanks Elostirion! Small tables are fun!

[COR - FB1] Smuggler's Tavern, Charlatan Bay, Infero Pordejon

The bucket palm tree is really good, and the white and brown for the house looks great! The dash of bright vegetation toward the right adds a lot too! -
[OL Ch3a] The return of the cup
Kai NRG replied to robinnilsson403's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very interesting take on this, I like it! The roof angles on the building are pretty well done, though on the sides there's a bit of a gap visible. But the vine section is really great! -

[Challenge III] The Fountain of Youth
Kai NRG replied to Dzoni90's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice build, some really great vegetation and the inside of course is excellent! Now to find a way down that cliff! -
That's the way it was designed to be (separate MOCs - at least, that's what I was thinking), but I think that's changed; Phred should be able to tell you what the current arrangement is.

A free-build from me, at long last! -
Long ago when peace reigned in Kaliphlin (am I showing my age here? ) castles like this one, garrisoned by Petraea soldiers, were a common sight. This was a fun color to use (medium dark flesh), I think it would look even better and also, of course, go further, with a bit of tan mixed in. You'll probably be seeing me use it again, I'll say that much! C&C welcome! Great to have a build for the guilds again!

Calling Volunteers! Oleon vs. Namere Build-Off

I think it would be possible to compete with just two builds.
