  1. Chili peppers! Great build, really nice work with the plants and good choice of expressions for the minifigures!
  2. Great posing on that guy carrying the pig over! A very nice build. Especially like that rockwork, but the vegetation is great too!
  3. This topic will be used to announce future rule updates and/or clarifications that all BoBS members should be aware of. The new rules or clarifications will of course be added to their appropriate topic as well. If you wish to discuss a new update or have any questions, please use the Introduction and Starting Thread. To kick things off, here is our first announcement: Property Size Rule Clarification: Sizes on property charts are guidelines only. We do not expect you to build squares, nor do we expect you to hit the exact limit and we allow for a pretty broad range of leeway. But of course, if we notice that a builder has built a MOC that is noticeably below his or her average, we reserve the right to reject builds or ask the builder to make changes. So for an example: Let's say you want to build a Large Residence. A substantially sized 40x40 would fit the bill, but a 32x32, even if it were five stories tall, obviously comes a lot closer to being a Medium, and you would be expected to license it as such. On the other hand, if you wanted to build a huge 64x64 mansion, that fits into the Large category as well. Unlimited Property Size Rule Update: Properties that say unlimited actually have a 100x100 minimum (that is, 10,000 studs in any orientation). However, these can be group projects with multiple builders collaborating to reach the large footprint.
  4. Very nice vessel kabel, the yellow is really eye-catching! I like how you used tan instead of brown for wood as well. Intriguing story too!
  5. Very nice build, I really like the light grey and olive wall especially. The new tree trunk technique is pretty cool too! - out of curiosity, about how long does it take you to put together one of these clip trunks from scratch? The story was very interesting as well!
  6. Very neat little chapel, the roof looks great and so does the steeple. I really like the round window at the back too!
  7. That was really very funny. Especially the dreaded "s" word. Very nice build! I like the activity!
  8. Yes. But note that this is connected to where you build, not to who you are. A Sea Rat licensing a building in a Corrington settlement would pay 100%; and a Corrington licensing a building in a Sea Rat/Squatter settlement would pay 50% (and might also run into some trouble with the Queen!).
  9. Very nice residence, always enjoy seeing this roof technique used! The fence looks great as well. If you take pictures in the shade then no shadows!
  10. The swirly hurricane in the background is great! Appropriate choices of facial expressions as well.
  11. Indeed. Very nice little vig!
  12. Nice work! Cool to see more scientific builds! Wonder what the future of this invention will be?
  13. What a beautiful facade... so many lovely architectural details and soooo huge! The window frames especially are fantastic and so is the arch over the door, and great use of micro figures and that fleur-de-lis is brilliant! Congrats on becoming a fellow as well!
  14. Fantastic work! Your colorful style looks so good, and the bustle and activity of this scene are very realistic! Keep up the good work!
  15. Dun...dun...dun... Perhaps King Fernando is still in bed. I wonder which of his servants will be the first to inform him. Boy, I'd like to be a fly in the wall in that room. I just hope King Fernando doesn't have anything handy to throw, other than his nightcap.
  16. Not a bad solution. Spend the time building instead!
  17. Very nice. The snake is a nice touch. I really like the use of upside down plates - very clever!
  18. Fantastic build, I love how textured this is and yet how clean it looks! The inset white looks really good, and so do the roofs!
  19. The Corries are having a blast here I see! From the Eslandola FAQs: We certainly wish to see justice done. Whether justice will please those of the Corries who have taken to Pirate-coddling as a pastime remains to be seen. @Cb4, well, if that's the case, then we trust it will be taken care of in the next version of the MRCA to make sure the Sea Rats (and any other predators) have no unfair disadvantage.
  20. I may perhaps have spoken a bit soon; I'm not absolutely positive that every last Sea Rat went on a Predator Run that first month to the same place (in fact I think they didn't). But from the Kings Port Advertiser, it seems that quite a few did, and it went poorly. Maybe that wasn't such a bad tactical decision either, maybe it was just really really bad dice rolls. Whatever - the point is, it's not a good idea to base future conduct on that one incident. When I say that I think predator runs are quite lucrative, I'm not basing that off my knowledge of some "hidden game mechanic." Apart from the rules that govern faction ships/armies/forts/movement etc., I operate off the same rules you do. I think they're lucrative because we had a good predator run (in terms of cost of licenses captured, not necessarily in terms of whether we should have done it or shouldn't have, etc.). Now, of course, maybe it's unreasonable for me to think that because we had one good run, they're lucrative. But it's just as unreasonable to think that because you all had one bad run, they're not. If you're basing your opinion as to Trade Runs being better than Predator runs off someone's analysis of the game, well, if that person analyzed it right, then maybe Trade Runs are better, and if that person did it wrong, then maybe they're worse!
  21. Of course, you guys can all keep discussing your merry hearts out on this topic. I was just saying that I intend to let it rest. Repeating the same thing over and over is getting a little wearing, for me.
  22. Garmadon has made several good points and essentially wrapped up the situation. I believe we (Eslandola) have been very clear on how we are going to handle this case. The question basically is whether or not Eslandola is guilty of piracy in attacking pirates. That question should not be discussed now. The two sides will be given an opportunity to present their cases at the trial. Until then, speculation is useless. If the Sea Rats are not happy with this, they always have the option to declare war, or just start covertly attacking us. For the record, if the case goes against Eslandola, Eslandola will in justice have to make some reparation for having kept the ships three months. I am officially volunteering for Eslandola in this build off. The teams are full - and you're on!
  23. Not all Sea Rats are pirates. True. All Sea Rats are outside of the law. I think this is also true. Why are all Sea Rat settlements squatter settlements? Why does the Sea Rat faction have no court system? Why are there no Sea Rat taxes? Did Eslandola commit an act of piracy/aggression by sending out a few ships with the specific intention of attacking Sea Rats, a "nation" with no recognized legal status? I'm sure we all have our own opinions on this. But this is what the court case is supposed to decide (guilty or not guilty). Until then, I vote we let the subject rest.
