  1. The HMS Whisper is looking good! Can't wait to see her finished! How will she be rigged?
  2. I like the clean look of these fortifications, and the lookout tower is really nice too. I would suggest field guns with larger wheels for this kind of setup, but I suppose they had to make do with what the had? I would think those guns would sink into the ground, especially after a few shots! Your setup gives the impression of being part of a much longer fortress wall. As always, nice story and great presentation too. Well done!
  3. Beautiful landscaping and "jungling", Ayrlego - you are quite a hand with the greenstuff! My favourite part, though, was reading the story - I really think you have a knack for turning out a good story, with some great characters! And the way you illustrate it with the different poses is just brilliant. Another contender for the challenge, I believe! Althoug I hope winning isn't going to be the main objective for the builders in BoBS!
  4. I really like the shipyard with all its details, including the dock, platforms, supports, spare parts, etc. The shot hole in the side of the vessel is a great idea, although one wonders what huge gun has made such a hole! The vessel is a bit too "minecraft-y" for me, but the size an number of gunports all seem to fit a class 2 A. As always, I am not really a fan of these box-shaped cabins on top of the hull, and your boom seems to point in the wrong direction - perhaps they are using it for a crane? I can see how it is difficult to build a vessel this size with this technique without it ending up too blocky. Nice build, and congratulations on winning the auction!
  5. Looking good inside and out. I too like the use of tan for the fresh wood. Great work. Corirngton approves!
  6. Good looking vessel, GulaGurag. The cabin is looking nice, as is the rigging. I think this would work perfectly with one more mid section in the hull, as it currently looks a bit stunted I too would suggest a spanker sail behind the mast, to make her a true cutter. Her current square rig will make her very unhandy sailing near to the wind! Your custom sails are very nice, and while you could consider captain Genaro's technique, I sort of like the rugged look of the current sails. Corrington approves - well done!
  7. The payment for the license is to be considered the price of construction. The underlying gamemechanics are not relevant for this. I think that is how you will need to look at it. The extra fee is calculated on the full license cost.
  8. This makes no sense to me. If the license cost is 100 db's and it is your fourth vessel, you will have to pay an extra 50 dbs. If it is a capture, the first 100 is already paid, so to put it into your fleet, you will have to pay 50 dbs.
  9. 1) Yes, 50 % of the license. Otherwise, it would be possible to circumvent the rules. I.e. the capture only cover the basic licensing costs. 2) I don't see why not. Alternatively, you could sell it, or have it condemned by the prize court. 3) The full license. Ska stated somewhere that unlicensing is an option, but there is no refund. Instead, you could try selling the licensed vessel to another player. I am pretty sure this is correct, by leadership may correct me.
  10. If it had been an Olean fort, that statement would make perfect sense...
  11. Beautiful outrigger, Sarge. I agree the white sail on the white boat does make it a bit too white, but otherwise it looks great. If she was to be a real flyer, she could probably carry a larger sail. Anyways, really nice build!
  12. Protect the apples! Very ramshackle little battery, Faladrin. It looks like they are trying to camouflage it with all those leaves up top? I like the action on the beach, and the temporary look of the structure, which is very fititing for the story. I think the snotted rockwork is looking a little too regular, though. Good work.
  13. This is probably one of my favourite entries so far. Expecially the water is just brilliant! I think the cliffside with its great vegetation turned out really nice(I too struggle with rockwork...) and I think it looks very interesting. Especially the palms protruding from the side. The custom built field gun is looking great too, and should Oleon and Corrington ever declare war, those little outposts will be great target practice for our fleet! I really like that little patrol sloop too - the hull shape is beautiful, and the rigging works very well.
  14. Great looking sloop-of-war, BrickOn - I really like the curves of the hull, and the integrated cabin is looking both great and realistic. I do agree that the concentration of the guns look a bit strange, but I think it is reasonable enough. I would probably put more space between the guns, which would also distribute them more evenly along the hull. I think the number of guns is very fitting for the class. (A sloop (rating, not rigging, mind you) would often carry around 12 guns, typically 4 pounders or 18 pounder carronades) I agree that the beakhead looks abit overwhelming, but it does give the ship a sturdy look! The rigging is very good too, but I would suggest adding a spanker sail to the mizzen, and perhaps another headsail (jib). As the foremost mast is (just) the tallest, she is actually a ketch, as a brig would have the aftmost mast as the tallest (main-)mast, but that is really a minor detail! Great work on depicting on of the captured vessels, and congratulations to Sir James on his appointment! I hope his new duties will not keep him from further scientific pursuits!
  15. I like the look of this - very fitting for an early stage fishing post. I think the beach and rockwork came out nicely, and I think you mostly avoided the big grey surface with the small rocks on top. I particularly like the activity going on with the loading of the boat, the drying of the fish, and the guy cating the net!
  16. The King's Harbour Foundation As the Society of Natural Philosophy wishes to support the exploration and scientific grandeur of the Empire, the board has established a foundation for the new settlement of King's Harbour. This foundation offers to fund half the cost of establishing any business relevant for the naval base. This includes, but is not limited to, the following enterprises: Docks, piers, cranes Arsenal Shipyard Naval outfitter Provisioner Naval Hospital Anyone wishing to take advantage of the foundation should contact Don Isaac Montoya, fellow of the Society, and local fund manager, or whoever he might chose to appoint for the task. In return for its investment, the Society of Natural Philosophers will require a share of profits, namely that of the months April, August and December until such a time that three payments have been made. As the Society is a non-profit organisation, these proceeds will go into the funds managed by the foundation, rather than to any stakeholders. Signed Central Executive Committee Society of Natural Philosophy
  17. King's Harbour has now been established. @BrickOn: I have taken the liberty of linking your fortress there already, and naming its location "Chase Point". I hope this is acceptable. Great looking capture!

Further, foreigners are allowed property rights after agreement with the Governor/mayor. Who can freebuild in King's Harbour: Anyone. Maps: Location: City Map: Will be published soon. Description: King's Harbour is first and foremost a naval base, and most activity is geared towards the repair, provisioning, maintenance, and outfitting of naval and merchant vessels. Obviously, the many sailors passing through, as well as the craftsmen and workers living there, is likely to give rise to a number of secondary and tertiary services over time, as the naval base expands. Located in an excellent, defensible natural harbour, it is the perfect place for ships to refit, provision, and repair, or to take refuge from storms or enemies. The surrounding forests offers a reasonable source of cordage and timber for these purposes, as well as plenty of fruits, vegetables, and animals for provisions. Fresh water can be procured from multiple springs, or from the river flowing into the bay. The settlement is founded near a native settlement, and co-exists in close cooperation with the natives, the cultures of Corrington and the natives spilling over between them. The harbour is protected by two peninsulae, the northern arm being tall, overgrown, and rocky, and the southern more flat and accessible. 19. I really like the look of those guns, and the battlements in front of them. With all these naval gun carriages, I almost forgot that field guns are much different.. I am not too much a fan of tiles for landscaping, but it works pretty well. I would lower the tracks from the guns too. This looks like something "4115th Eslandolean Artillery Regiment" would put up in a jiffy during a campaign. Btw, if those regimental numbers are forthcoming, I hope Corrington won't have to face that army!
  20. Nice landscaping, story and building. A lot of stuff is going on, and the building looks very fitting for a colony, having some ornaments, but still being low and simple. The palm-tree is nice too, although I think the trunk is a little too regular. Well done!
  21. It is good to see Sir James is keeping up the pursuit of science! I really like the comic book style of presentation, and the expressions on the minifigs, and that you have developed and described a cultural aspect of the natives. Great work!
  22. It is really nice to see that even in these small ratings, we see a lot of diversity. The rigging is pretty good, and I like all the action going on. Happy to see class 0 get some love!
  23. Nice looking interior, there. It is a very large cabin though - must be a very impressive ship! I like the different details like the bookshelf, the anchor and the globe. It is interesting to follow Sinbad's adventures, and I am happy to see him being fully adopted in the crew!
  24. Hah! Very amusing entry, and the execution is great too! The floor technique is a great detail, and I like the "instrument".
  25. Great fortress - I love how it is recessed into the ground, and how the battlements have been dug out for the gun. Very nice entry!
