Cool, and very different, take on class two, Jacob. I like the curves of her cabin, and the details of the rigging, but my favourite part is the embrasure for the guns - it reminds me of the early monitors, carrying their guns in enclosed, armoured casemates, rather than on a (relatively) open deck. While it will be hard for her to bring all guns to bear, I suppose a different tactic is used, to let the enemy come into each gun's firing arch in turn? (Seems to be a bit short in terms of room for recoil in there, though! ) The brick built hull is well done too, although it would benefit from a few more curves. A few thoughts on rigging. In isolated terms, your rigging is very nice, with details such as the shrouds and main chains, and the fighting top. However, I would say that she is underrigged, as that casemate must be pretty heavy. Further, only early one-masters carried squaresails, and I think she would handle better with a larger fore-and-aft rig. For a one-master, the mast should generally be as tall as the vessel is long (often plus a bit), and with your placement of the mast, I would suggest a few headsails (jibs), a large spanker sail, and a square topsail. Given the slightly fantasiesque nature of this vessel, I don't know if that is of any use to you - but I hope it can at least set some thoughts in motion for when you next decide to try out a vessel! Very nice and innovative first BoBS vessel! I hope not to meet her and that dangerous casemate on my travels!

Great reiteration of this vessel - I really like the way you have enlarged her - it works seamlessly, and the longer hull makes her even more harmonic than her slightly smaller sister. Well done!

[ESL-Ch2B] The smugglers almost get through
Bregir replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I was sure I had already commented on this excellent build! The two-sided forced perspective is a great idea, and you have executed it really well. The microship has the best microrigging I have seen yet. The fortress is really nice too, with a lot of details, like the shot rack, sponger/rammer, and smoke. That little tower on the corner is brilliant, and very realistic - I wonder if we will ever be allowed a look on the front of the fort? -
Nice micro ships - I particularly like the Oleander vessel (does that make me a traitor? ) and the landscaping is quite nice too. I like how you have the story fitting recent events. The Corlander vessel, being so large, would benefit from one two masts more, but other than that very nice build from a limited collection. The first picture seems a bit grainy, though. Bad lightning?

Gunnery Drills Aboard The Dark Lightning
Bregir replied to gedren_y's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice looking vessel, Gedren - I think this is a very good first warship in LDD, and as others have said, those are some very innovative sails. (Although I do agree with the upside down idea). The crew is very nice too, and I like details like the bog flag, the firing cannon, and the fighting platforms halfway up the mainmast. I do agree with Captain Genaro that the cabin is too tall (nice furniture, btw), which is something we have seen on quite a few ships in BoBS, (The hut-on-a-hull syndrome ) but I really like the details on the stern with the tilted windows, arches and bows. It is just too tall for the ship to be entirely harmonous. (And would definitely catch a lot of wind, making her hard to navigate... ) A comment on the general sail-plan. I have never before seen a three masted vessel with the mizzen being the tallest mast. Had it not been for the strange small foremast, which appears only to be meant to carry the job, she would have been a perfectly normal brig, but in this configuration, I think she is an entirely new invention in terms of rigging type! (I am not too convinced how well she would handle though. ) I really think you have done a great job with the masts and rigging (especially considering it is digital!), with a lot of nice details. However, the overall sail-plan just looks a little strange to me Well done! -
(COR - Ch2B) Battle at the fallen tree.
Bregir replied to Mike S's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great landscaping, and I love that fallen over tree - the action posing is very good too. My only comment is that I don't really like those tiles as groundcoverage - at least I can't figure out what they are meant to represent. As always, you have great skill in saying a lot with very few words - I really love those log entries! -
Nice first attempt at landscaping - as BD said, the only drawback is the rather flat base. I really like the idea of the four sided (plus a dark side...) shrine - and like the idea of the sea rats as a very liberal regarding your choice of religion. Well done!

[SR - FB1] The Life And Death Of Captain Morgan
Bregir replied to Jacob Nion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great action shot, Jacob! As always, you really have a knack for making the bricks come alive. Interesting story too! About approval - I can't say if you need them, but for gameplay purposes, they are now a moot point! -
Auction! Bloody Bill's Booty for Sale!

There is a saying in Bellson. When someone suggests the outlay of large amount of funds, people will often respond: "Don't be ridiculous! Do you think I am a Montoya?" -

Well told story and really nice illustrations with the pictures! I like how you incorporate the tidbits of info about the battle from the MRCA result. Will we see more of that pirate ship? -

Nice wreckage and good story! And it is no surprise that there are some inconsistencies with the King's Port Advertiser - It has never been a very reliable, objective paper! -

Looking very good sofar, BrickOn! You have a lot of nice furniture there, if you ask me, and the current interior is looking nice too. Keep it up!- 897 replies

OMG, I am totally going to rat you out to Green Peace!!! (On a more serious note, I really don't see the need to bring modern day ethics into the appropriateness of whaling in BoBS...) Can I ask if you had planned whaling enterprises yourself, or if it was due to my suggestion in the general thread? Just wondering if others had the same thoughts. Very nice build, btw. I like the explanation of the process (and product), and you have shown it in the brick very well! Absolutely lovely! The ground is a little bare, but other than that, nice details all around!

Auction! Bloody Bill's Booty for Sale!
Bregir replied to Kai NRG's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I believe this is the way leadership have chosen to handle NPC captures of tradeships, based on recent discussions. This thus only includes vessels from the last MRCA, which makes perfect sense and excludes earlier captures. Faladrin, this was never decided only discussed. And if it had been captured by a player, this would have been the case. (Although the moc'ing part would not, to the best of my knowledge, be required, anymore than any other MRCA result is.) However, in this case there is noone to negotiate with. Thus, it would be impossible to negotiate at arms-length principles, and it seems the decision has been that an auction is a solution for this. BTW. Kai, will the achieved prices(not bids, obviously) be announced publicly? That seems fairest. -
April 616 - Corrington's Escorted Trade Runs
Bregir replied to Mike S's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Dear mr. Coyle, The Montoya Estate should like again to join the Royal Convoys, the Sphinx on the Merry Lyric, and the HMS Otter on the Fire Trader route. Sincerely, Ibn al'Sayeed -
I like it - the yellow works well, and the architecture is nice. And of course, no Corlander can but be happy to see others engage in some science too! The fences are nice, and makes the whole thing look very stately. Well done!

Settlement, Stormhaven, Serentia, Corrington
Bregir replied to Mike S's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great idea with a whole settlement on stilts, Mike! I can't wait to see it pan out. Might I suggest you put a picture of Fort Coyle in the first post, to give an illustration of building on stilts? -
[OL-MCRA] No. 1 Admiralty dock
Bregir replied to Franco Clarke's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I would first and foremost suggest a more uniform background. And personally, I use a camera with adjustable shutter time and a tripod, which allows for longer exposure times without the pictures getting blurry. This allows me to take clear pictures under almost any (uniform) lightning condition! -

First, great build, Kabel - looks very royal! The window is great, and I love the colours. I only wonder why you let the wall continue to the left further than the rest of the build? As to the story - very well written, and very interesting developments! We Corlanders will definitely be following developments closely!
