  1. Clever challenge, making members having to build for AoM as well Good luck Mitgardians, I expect more awesome MOCs from you!
  2. Thanks! I'll see if I have one of those baseball players as bycatch from my early AFOL days of ordering random minifigs instead of squeezing or BLing the right ones
  3. Here is my sigfig Sir Gideon, in light armor and in full armor with helmet: Here is my introduction thread from book I, for some backstory to the character. I will compile a list of parts later, and possibly post a few of my secondary characters as well. Edit: I have by the way been trying to find some alternate faces (for example slightly happier) that would suit my sigfig, any suggestions?
  4. Great that this community build gets going! The gate challenge deadline of February 28th is unfortunately way too soon for me, I'd probably need more than those four weeks to have any time with my tan bricks (not least because of Lego World in Copenhagen in 2 weeks). If we were to get a couple of more weeks to get our gates ready (as the gate after all is the centerpiece of the town) I'd be happy to put my best effort in there
  5. Good start, looking forward to the coming phases! Innovative to use a warg instead of a horse btw.
  6. Missed your claims before, UoP DoH +1 for both of them as you manage to convey what the build is supposed to show very well, despite the small footprint
  7. Nice house, I especially like the roof shape I also like the composition of that second photo, gives a very "in character" perspective. The first photo is also from a good angle, but I think it lacks somewhat in sharpness and color. Still impressed that you got that out of a phone camera however
  8. de Gothia's sigfig is married to Elon's daughter Lena, so de Gothia's sons are Elons grandchildren
  9. Great improvement of the LURP when you covered the open studs with snow
  10. Another lovely elvish build from you! I especially like your color choices and the organic look of the details, while the whole building still looks well planned.
  11. Good job with the ice sheets and snow drifts! The minifig posing is excellent, I especially like the elf on the sheet of ice in the corner, he looks so sure of foot Can't help thinking that the water technique you've used is a little bit too "dynamic" in a scene like this however, I would maybe have expected a more calm surface (SNOT water or tiles would maybe have worked better).
  12. Very nice build! I especially like the base and the tree
  13. Good overall design and a lot of nice details on the chapel, well done! I also like the various clever plant designs on the ground
  14. Really nice lighting effect! I like how the campfire lights up the guys face and the nearby bushes What I'm not too fond of however is the FP in the background, where I think two things could be improved. One thing is to have a shallower depth of field and ensuring that the FP is blurry enough for a believable FP effect, and the other thing is that I think it looks a bit weird that the campfire illuminates the mountains Another light source on those (maybe a very cool light, like white LEDs, to simulate moonlight) would be better.
  15. Those helmets look suitably elvish, in a somewhat barbaric way which I think suits this tribe very well Nice smooth irregular border as well!
  16. Great job creating that elvish look! I also think you've done a good job with how you photographed the water. Is the background the actual backdrop or post-processed?
  17. The mix between looking like a tree and a constructed tower gives this a very suitable elvish look I like the color combinations a lot!
  18. The Copenhagen PaB wall (the only in Scandinavia...) has had 2xN pieces in tan every time I've been there.
  19. Nice to see the interior as well Good job with the lighting of the stained glass windows.
  20. I did not think of it before, but the white and black feather works really good as Black Spire colors on the weapon
  21. Some rich merchants might very well have their base of operations in Sultan's Gate. Such houses are most probably built in the relative safety inside the walls. Being sick can give more building time The trick is to be sick enough to be home from work/school but well enough to build. I failed in that balance the first week of January when the most constructive I was able to do was to watch a couple of seasons of Homeland and a couple of other shows...
  22. I was referring to the "clean cut" rock below the tower, at the edge of the diorama.
  23. I would think that vast riches passes through the city, but not necessarily that those riches stay there (as in ending up in luxurious palaces of merchant princes).
  24. Welcome to Kaliphlin Drake Kantor! Very good introduction with an interesting backstory
  25. UoP DoH +1 for the claims, even though I agree with Eryn that it is a tad on the small side to be a proper battle scene.
