  1. Thanks! There is another one behind the hut to the right, but I should have put it in some place where it was more visible...
  2. If not before, I suppose you will get your chance when the civil war in Kaliphlin breaks out for real (in one of the upcoming challenges).
  3. Good to hear that! Its too easy to get lost among all the threads... A suggested improvement could be to make that logo a link to the index?
  4. Wonderful entry, great job! My favourite picture here is the first one with the ruined castle slightly out of focus. Good job with the color scheme and the overall design, I think the sloping ground in front of the ruin might just be the best example from you of that great technique, it really adds extra realism in a good way. Excellent photography as well
  5. Very good shape of that twin tower, and I like the use of the gems a lot as well
  6. An unrelated question: What is the meaning of the "Indexed" logo at the top of some entries to the challenge?
  7. Good job with that wall, and excellent figure composition. I like the unorthodox use of that SW shoulder piece a lot, it works perfect here
  8. That's an innovative approach to the category, well done! The squid looks increadibly dangerous, and without question very "squidy"...is it's body a tire turned inside out?
  9. Great to see that the Black Spire is building more towers in the Moruth Swamplands to ensure that the pesky Lord Raavage can't control those lands The tower looks really sturdy, and I like that small gnarled tree as well. The rockwork could have used some more detailing, maybe some plates in other colors or some more dark bley cheese slopes to break up the bigger studded areas? Looking forward to more pics!
  10. Thanks! It was actually the huts and figures which were the idea for this MOC, the landscaping did maybe not as you say get the attention it deserved. Was too eager getting category B going again (was stuck with tricky rockwork there) at the time when I finished this. But what do you think of the color scheme? I thought that the dark orange gave a suitable Nocturnian feel Thanks! I deliberatly tried to make the walls look like a not too strong palissade, since it's more a protection against surprise raids than a fortification designed to withstand a siege. These pumpkins look quite ordinary, at least they don't have any faces. But who knows what else could be put in a Nocturnian pie? The idea of making a cyclops tribe came to me when I put the fortune teller hairpiece on a cyclops, it looked too good in my opinion not to use as a prominent cyclops Thanks gedren! Thanks! Their roofs are probably what I'm most happy how it turned out here
  11. Good job getting so much details and story into that small build I'm glad to have provided inspiration, but I in turn was inspired by historical walls.
  12. Good job with the minifig posing, nice action scene!
  13. Thanks! Because reading it literally my interpretation now is that it was not allowed to be the 16th anywhere when posting, meaning that it should have been posted before 13:00 on the 15th here in Sweden and before 03:00 on the 15th in Alaska I agree fully that we need to have a certain deadline, but when there is room for misinterpretation like this (other deadlines have been "as long as it is the NNth anywhere on the globe") I think you are right in giving people some extra hours to finish their posts.
  14. Book II Challenge 1 A: To Ambush an Ambush Landscape Design: Tree (1/3, for the big one) Landscape Design: Dense foliage Book II Challenge 1 B: Swamplands Tower Architecture: Advanced SNOT (for the stairs and for the base/cliffs with studs in all directions) Landscape design: Sideways rocks Hydrology: Still water Geography: Swamp Book II Challenge 1 C: Recruiting a Cyclops Tribe Architecture: Roofing (1/3) Architecture: Wooden walls Anthropology: Tribal scene Anthropology: Life in Nocturnus
  15. Congratulations Emma! Very creative ideas and good job with both the building and the presentations
  16. Very well built dragon and great job with the photography! So much details on such a small base, good job
  17. I would like to claim the following UoP DoH credits for this build: Architecture: Roofing (1/3) Architecture: Wooden walls Anthropology: Tribal scene Anthropology: Life in Nocturnus
  18. Thanks! The stairs were actually the original reason I had for the SNOT rocks (saw that technique long ago and have wanted to try it). For the Black Spire!!
  19. Yea, thanks for the heads up previously. Otherwise I would not have posted my entries in time...
  20. Thanks! I had planned on writing more of a story for this one, but that would have required more builds that I did not have time for since this one really doesn't leave much room for fleshing out the story. I was inspired by Ska's battle for Queenscross where cyclops had recently fought when I found some series 9 minifigs in Finland for €2 (cheaper than in Sweden) and some of the cyclops followed the knights and forest maidens home with me
  21. Thanks! It's my first attempt at SNOTed water, but I figured that sand green could look good as swamp water. Sadly, I did not notice until it was too late to rebuild the base that the old sand green 2x8 slopes I had used for parts of the water actually were in a slightly different hue. But I suppose that adds some mottling effect to the water
  22. Thanks Kayne! It's good to put some of those expensive tan arches to use for anything else than Kaliphlin architecture
  23. Wow, this is exactly the kind of atmosphere I have in mind when thinking of Barqa! It reminds me a lot of the old city in Jerusalem. The tavern with the figures outside is my favourite part, just looks so Middle Eastern There are definitely some details here and there I might borrow for some future build. Nice to see my sigfig there as well What headgear do the guy to the right underneath the tree and the guy to the far left have by the way? One piece of photography advice, put some bricks behind the windows of "half-buildings" so that the open backside is not visible. Either just add a layer of black, or put some other color to have it look like curtains (or why not partially curtains and the rest black? )
  24. Book II Challenge 1 A: To Ambush an Ambush Book II Challenge 1 B: Swamplands Tower Book II Challenge 1 C: Recruiting a Cyclops Tribe
  25. I thought tan trunks with dark red leaves would look suitably gloomy for Nocturnus Actually ended up building different kinds of such trees in all my entries. I agree, don't know why I didn't think of putting some vines into those thorns. Would definitely have improved it. Depending on the exact hour of the deadline I might actually make another attempt at shooting this one tomorrow if there is time, since there are some other small details I'm not 100% happy with.
