  1. Thanks! Thanks! This is my first real attempt at sideways rocks, so I appreciate all feedback. The idea was that the cliff should look organic and not as jagged as my usual studs up cliffs. But at the end I had to resort to "normal" cliffs on the back side to have some time to finish the tower, because the SNOT cliffs took forever to build... I actually spent at least four times as much time on the forward half of the cliff and stairs as I spent on the rest of the MOC combined Thanks! I'm really glad I found out that those curved bricks fit perfectly in the new style 1x6 arches
  2. Soraya of the Hashishin (presented in category A) has been sent by the Black Spire to recruit a tribe of cyclops. The cyclops matriarch has has accepted to join her forces to the cause of the Black Spire, after some persuasion and promises of freedom for her tribe from the Nocturnian yoke of tributes they have long suffered under. Soraya hands over the colors of the Black Spire to the cyclops. They will soon get ready to go to war and join the ranks of Lord Raavage, and finally get their chance to dethrone that pesky Lord Ssilyrrlith. Soraya does not want to know what is in the cooking pot. Every Nocturnian tribe with some self-respect maintains a pumpkin patch. Edit: I would like to claim the following UoP DoH credits for this build: Architecture: Roofing (1/3) Architecture: Wooden walls Anthropology: Tribal scene Anthropology: Life in Nocturnus
  3. In order to establish dominance over the swamplands of Nocturnus, the Black Spire has established outposts on well defendable locations. As the swamp is filled with way too much entangled plants, the only way to reach the tower on this rock is by a wooden walkway. The commander of the tower Edit: I would like to claim the following UoP DoH credits for this build: Architecture: Advanced SNOT (for the stairs and for the base/cliffs with studs in all directions) Landscape design: Sideways rocks Hydrology: Still water Geography: Swamp
  4. Soraya is a member of the Hashishin, an ancient and secretive group of Kaliphlin assassins. Some even claim that the very word "assassin" can be traced back to this group. The widespread idea that the Hashishin are smoking certain plants before combat is however an ignorant misinterpretation of the name. Even though their numbers are few, they are feared throughout Kaliphlin and indeed throughout Historica. Soraya is very skilled in the use of her long single-edged sword, but she also has a few more tricks up her sleeve. One of these is her trained monkey, fiercely loyal and with surprising skills with the knife. In some parts of Nocturnus, the strangleweeds grow very thick and the only relatively safe means of transportation is on the rare stone paths with stone walls and regular patrols to get rid of the weeds. These paths are unfortunately also an excellent place for an ambush, as Soraya well knows. She therefore lets her monkey follow her on the side between the trees. When as expected a Nocturnian soldier ambushes her, the monkey is ready to deal with the threat... Without minifigures: Edit: I would like to claim the following UoP DoH credits for this build: Landscape Design: Tree (1/3, for the big one) Landscape Design: Dense foliage
  5. Shouldn't there be something like another 37 hours to go before it's the 17th also in all islands in the Pacific? Or did you mean that it needs to be the 15th still somewhere in the world, i.e. 13 hours to go? In that case I'm glad I did my photography yesterday, just need to finish the entries then... I agree that there are so many great entries in this challenge, it's going to be a lot of work giving all of them the attention they deserve.
  6. Bold choices of color and good job with the story writing
  7. Lovely house, I especially like the half-timbered sections. I also like the tree trunks in the background of the last picture, looks twisted and ancient to me
  8. Or if you like to use BBCode, use [url="link to full size picture or topic here"][img=image url][/url] for example using automatically generated BBCode from flickr to include a certain thumbnail size, with link to the full sized picture [url="http://www.flickr.com/photos/64008454@N03/11160683595/"][img=http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7321/11160683595_6a8c9f4411_m.jpg][/url] will look like its then easy to then replace the link to the full size picture on flickr with a link to a forum topic [url="http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=89132"][img=http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7321/11160683595_6a8c9f4411_m.jpg][/url] which will give the same picture, but with a link to my topic instead of the flickr image
  9. I suspected a Swedish connection I also have my roots partially in Skåne, even though I grew up in the snowy north...
  10. I like the house a lot, quite detailed despite its size. The cave could maybe have used a thicker roof to look more believable?
  11. I really like that this phase shows the next one in progress Keep those builds coming!
  12. Good job fitting all of that action into so few studs UoP +1 for the claims (since I know you are a master of fortification techniques, just a bit surprised that you chose to put that claim on this little tower )
  13. Very clever idea, and splendid solution for the puppet show
  14. Nice fig posing, and good job with that rockwork!
  15. Good job with the illumination, and inspiring to know that it was all purist! I was thinking about getting some lights for my Arduino, but now I might get some PF lights instead
  16. Rockwork, wall techniques, overall shape of the tower and more...just wow! UoP +1 for all claims, no question about that
  17. I see. (Another reason to stick with flickr desipte its makeover I suppose )
  18. "This folder is not yet public." is what I see there.
  19. Wonderful elven "organic" architecture, in a suitably twisted way. Your take on the challenge with these three builds with a continuous and well-developed story has been very successful
  20. I really like the design of the vines, great idea! The trapped sword is a nice addition as well
  21. How much MOCing is it possible to do during a holiday? Interesting design of those buildings, feels very suitable for a tribe of elves with a rougher culture
  22. Nice fig composition, and good writing
  23. Innovative building for sure like always, but I think you've outdone yourself this time...so many unusual parts used in those walls! You must have steady hands to manage putting a build like this together I don't think I've seen that flag technique before either, is there any closeup shot of that one? For the Black Spire!!
  24. You are not the only one having that problem, and my phone makes things worse with Autocorrect...especially when I forget switching language to English before starting to write a post here
