  1. Very nice roof! I too would like to see pictures from other angles, especially so we can see the other minifig.
  2. Very nice build and congratulations to Nocturnus for getting the quintessential Nocturnian piece
  3. I'd like to be considered for UoP credits for the following build: Arkbri Irrigation - certifications: Crop Farming [Agriculture and Zoology], Countryside scene [Anthropology] = 2 credits Also still missing approval/denial for: Ice Fishing in Mitgardia - certifications: Fishing [Agriculture and Zoology], Underwater [Hydrology] = 2 credits Duel in the Sacred Forest - certifications: Courtroom [Trade and Law] = 1 credit Trial of Haxtarus - certifications: Forests [Geography] = 1 credit Transporting a Valuable Load - certifications: Grasslands [Geography] = 1 credit Please respond here or over PM to avoid resurrecting old threads.
  4. Here is my entry: Husbandry Challenge: Arkbri Irrigation (Is this the first entry for Kaliphlin? Come on guys!)
  5. The agriculture of Kaliphlin is heavily dependent on irrigation. During the Civil War, many parts of this infrastructure was damaged. Since the cessation of hostilities, the City Council of Barqa has sponsored a rebuilding campaign of the irrigation canals in the Arkbri valley. Now finally again fresh water from the river can be diverted to the fields of the bread-basket of western Kaliphlin. Lord Gideon is inspecting the results of the repair works and rejoices when seeing that the fields are lush once more. A farmer adjusts the water flow to his fields, while his son is minding the goats on the other side of the canal. I'd also like to claim the following UoP credits: Countryside scene [Anthropology] Crop farming [Agriculture and Zoology]
  6. Nice build overall and great backstory! Minor nitpicks are that the interior floor would have looked better without studs and that there are some white visible in the corners which looks a bit out of place.
  7. Nice minifigs Suitable phase 1 build, good luck with the rest!
  8. Nice architecture and foliage! I like the technique you've used for the aqueduct, I'll try to remember that as it seems to give more freedom with the width of gothic arches
  9. Great use of that hairpiece The rocks and building look good as well but I think the ground could have used some more details.
  10. Cute house It's always great to see scenes from everyday life in Nocturnus!
  11. Excellent figure posing and creatures! The fortifications are great as usual Interesting to see that a weakness might have been discovered? Since trade along the Arkbri river is flowing once again, Kaliphlinite traders are ready to supply Mitgardian with high-quality oil. Not cheap of course!
  12. Very nice build with a great atmosphere! I like the rightmost minifig a lot. You've also paid attention to the photography and presentation which this build deserved
  13. I have an entry 90% finished, will try to finish and photo it on Sunday
  14. Nice build overall and great detail with the hat I also like the informative description of the build a lot.
  15. Maybe have a white sheet/piece of paper in front of the cave and let light from above reflect off that sheet if you want to increase ligthing inside? You can experiment with different angles of the sheet/paper to get the result you want. I sometimes use this technique to modify the bounced flash to lighten some shadows in parts of my builds.
  16. Excellent build! I really like both the snow-covered trees and the brickbuilt animals The landscaping is also very good. Constructive criticism would be more on the presentation side that it would be better with softer light/light from several directions so you don't get the hard shadows and glare in the parts.
  17. Nice vegetation I like the carriage a lot and the first picture with the closeup is really nice Maybe what was asked for was a picture of the whole build in focus (now the wall was out of focus) and no part of the build cropped? For closeups, I love limited depth-of-field but for overview shots I'm advocating that the whole build should be in focus.
  18. I'm going to Skaerbaek Fan Weekend again, but probably won't bring any GoH builds this year.
  19. Nice depiction of one of the stranger Nocturnian landscapes
  20. Unexpected entry, but very nice! I like the windows in the stone wall a lot
  21. Congratulations Rouge! I can totally relate to the time limits for the bricks with two small kids and lots to do at work Great with a new open-ended task also!
  22. So it's possible to refer to older builds with an already established trade, but encouraged to make new ones showing more of the trade? "Barqa is well known for the excellent quality of the glasswares produced [there]." Glass shop along a street in Barqa
  23. Nice atmosphere!
  24. Very nice build, I like how both the exterior and interior look so good! Not sure if I've seen that technique with the 1x2x1 panels for offset stones before...? I thought I recognized the hospital beds! Seems like the Black Brothers of Barqa use the same supplier for their furniture UoP +1 for interior design.
