Thanks, everyone! I agree. Trans-Medium Blue is one of my all-time favorite LEGO colors along with classic teal. I just wish there were more parts in both of those colors... Me too! I tried using that software before, but I couldn't get it to work properly on my computer. If anyone wants to try rendering my MOC like that, I'd appreciate it very much. I see what you mean about the sword. Is this any better? (In this case, it's now a Duo Blade rather than a Tetra Blade.) Click to enlarge: LXF File -Toa Of Justice

I originally intended to make this MOC in 2012, but Stormer's helmet wasn't available in LDD until 2013. - So without further ado, I present... - - * * * * * * * * * * * * * This version of Stormer was supposed to be my idea of what could have come in between Stormer XL (version 4.0) and Brain Attack Stormer (version 5.0). Since I ended up combining parts from every year of Hero Factory, I'm not sure that's an appropriate description anymore. Perhaps "Stormer: Ice Cold Edition" might be a better name. What do you think? - He can freeze targets quickly with either his Tetra Blade or his Cryo Cannon. When a target is cold enough, a hit from either weapon can smash it to bits! So when he yells "FREEZE!" at the villains, he really means it! - * * * * * * * * * * * * * Click any image to enlarge it. - - LXF File - Brickshelf Gallery- Stay cool, - -Toa Of Justice

6231 - Speeda Demon - Theme: Hero Factory LXF File (LDD version 4.3.6, brick version 1033 1182) Errors: Part 98589 was not available in LDD, so I replaced it with part 2419. Part 64272 was not available in LDD, so I replaced it with part 87791. Part 98588pb01 was not available in LDD, so I replaced it with this custom part. cannot be dual-colored in the lightning section, but I was able to color the Titanium Metallic area correctly. -Toa Of Justice

[KEY TOPIC] LDD custom bricks

98588pb01 - Hero Factory Weapon - Lightning with Marbled Blue/Yellow Pattern Original piece: My creation: This part has all the connection points of the original, but the lightning bolt is a little small. I was also unable to reproduce the exact color scheme. LXF File -Toa Of Justice -

Takanuinuva, Masta' Blasta', and Superkalle: I understand about closing LDD while on the welcome screen now, thanks. Not being able to close LDD without opening a project first from the welcome screen is indeed annoying. It reminds me of Skype's strangely-programmed "X" button. LDD 4.3.6 bugs
Toa_Of_Justice replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Thank you. It does connect! Cool! Now I'm not so mad anymore, but I still don't understand why the origin was changed... EDIT: I cannot connect two launcher halves to a sphere at once without scaffolding. It should, but it doesn't. By the way, I found another bug: An axle cannot fit through the axle either hole on part 57528, but only less than a half module in. LXF File -Toa Of Justice -
LDD 4.3.6 bugs
Toa_Of_Justice replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Part 87799 (the 2010 Hero Core) will not fit onto part 87801 (Stormer's 2010 chest armor element). LXF File Other pieces with a lightsaber-blade-width bar will fit just fine in the connection hole though! -Toa Of Justice EDIT: Darn it! I just discovered that part 54821 (the Zamor/energy sphere) had its origin moved! Now every single model made with that piece, including my sphere launcher templates, is messed up! Who did that, and why!? EDIT 2: My Thornax Launcher template is messed up too! But this time, the launcher arms (64275) can't get as close as they could before to the Thornax fruit (85582)! -
That would definitely be a good idea. I tried uploading a read-only version of my blank LXF file to Brickshelf.com, but when I downloaded it, the read-only attribute was lost. I'll add your tip to my post though. You're welcome! I'm not sure I fully understand... are you suggesting that there should be a way to open LDD without opening any file, including a blank file? -Toa Of Justice

Attention, fellow LEGO Digital Designer users! Are you annoyed by how long it takes to get past LDD's welcome screen? Do you wish there was an easy way to skip the welcome screen every time you start up LDD? Well, I have a solution for you! First of all, either create a blank LXF file, or download mine. After that, it's as simple as opening that file instead of launching LDD from a normal desktop shortcut! (EDIT: Don't forget to set the "Read-only" attribute in the file's properties to prevent it from being overwritten!) But wait! I even came up with a method to launch LDD like that from the taskbar in Windows 7 and 8 (if you have it pinned there) while keeping the Jump List intact! Starting with an ordinary shortcut to LDD pinned to the taskbar, hold down Shift and right-click the shortcut. Then, left-click on "Properties" in the pop-up menu. Next, clear the "Target:" field on the Shortcut tab, then enter the location of the blank LXF file. Make sure to put double quote marks before and after the location. Example: "C:\Users\[insert your user name here]\Documents\LEGO Creations\Models\blank.lxf" Once you've entered the location of the blank LXF file, click OK. From now on, whenever you launch LDD from the taskbar, you'll go straight to the blank LXF file rather than the welcome screen. What if you're running Windows 8, and want to pin LDD to the Start screen? For that, I recommend Pin to 8, which will allow you to pin any file to the Start screen or taskbar in Windows 8. (Watch out for any fake download advertisements on that page! If you move your mouse cursor over a button and its URL contains "googleads," it's not the link you're looking for!) Happy virtual building! -Toa Of Justice EDIT: Here's yet another way to bypass LDD's welcome screen, courtesy of fgiorgi. With this method, there's no need to mess with shortcuts to LDD or blank files!

Awesome! The Terror Bird almost looks like something the Raven tribe would use in the world of Chima. While the beak and feet resemble that of Eris' Eagle Interceptor, the model's overall appearance make me think of Razar's Chi Raider. -Toa Of Justice

I have revamped Samurai X's Power Suit in 2013. It now features new hands, additional weapons, and an upgraded rocket pack with greater flexibility. Click any picture to enlarge it. Here's the rocket pack. The rocket pack has been deployed. Plus, I added flames! (Note: Only the type of flame with the base rim will fit inside the rocket elements.) The rockets can now move in multiple directions. The hands can rotate at the wrists, and the fingers can move. Each of the weapons now connects to the hands via Technic elements. My connection design allows the weapons to be switched around. Download the LXF file of this model, or check out the Brickshelf gallery when it's public. Thanks to Cat's Cache for providing the additional pieces I used in this revamp! -Toa Of Justice

LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
Toa_Of_Justice replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I'd like to be able to adjust the connection/snap radius while building. Sometimes, I try to connect one element on top of another, and it ends up underneath the other element or somewhere else I did not intend for it to go. -Toa Of Justice -
LDD MOC: Once upon a time in Bethlehem
Toa_Of_Justice replied to monsinjor's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great work! I am impressed with the sheer amount of detail you put into this model. When I opened the LXF file, it said two bricks were placed incorrectly and have been removed from the model. I downloaded a fresh copy of the model, then used LDD Manager to compare the two. It turns out that a couple of pitchforks made LDD complain. Where did you intend to place them? You may want to try placing them again, but make sure they aren't colliding with any other pieces. I can help you with this if you want. -Toa Of Justice -

LDD 4.3.5 bugs
Toa_Of_Justice replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Is this the button you're looking for (the funnel button near the bottom right of the color palette)? If so, it's only available in the standard LDD and Mindstorms modes, not the Extended mode. -Toa Of Justice -
This is a very nice MOC, LDeaD! My only suggestions would be to use color 228 (a sort-of "trans-teal" [or a similar translucent color] available in Aanchir's LDD Color Chart) in place of the solid teal (at least for the head dome) and place some eyes behind the head dome to make the MOC look more like the edited image. -Toa Of Justice

I made a special MOC in honor of veterans everywhere. WarHero Click any image to enlarge it. WarHero's gun, BigBoss, rapid-fires huge plasma bolts and comes with a green targeting laser. BigBoss also fits on WarHero's back, thanks to a retractable clip. Feel free to use any of the above images as a desktop background. [LXF File] - [Brickshelf Gallery] -Toa Of Justice
