  1. I saw these Jangbricks reviews: Based on what I've seen, I think the concept is innovative, but I think Spinmaster will need to work on these figures for a while (especially on articulation and part quality) before I'd consider buying them. In the meantime, I'll stick to the bricks I know I enjoy... Leg Godt! -Toa Of Justice P.S. I bet these pieces could be used to create better versions of Tenkai-style figures.
  2. I think I can see where the quality of the molding and printing falls a little short. But what about the strength of the plastic? Do the limbs and joints have any strength to them, or are they very fragile? -Toa Of Justice
  3. I saw an ad for the product based on this show on Cartoon Network recently. My dad was watching with me and thought that LEGO would sue the maker behind these toys. I reminded him that the LEGO brick patent expired, and that it was now legal for other companies to design their own LEGO-like construction products. By the way, the bricks in these toys are compatible with LEGO, according to the official Tenkai Knights Web site (5th question from the top). Has anyone bought Tenkai Knights? Is the quality anywhere near that of LEGO? -Toa Of Justice
  4. 6534 Beach Bandit - LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts Edition One day, I happened to see 6534 Beach Bandit in Brickset's random set section. After looking at it for a while, I remembered that I had a sail and mast in 6734 Beach Cruisers, and the surfboard in 6737 Wake Rider. One LDD concept and one BrickLink order later, I had my finished MOC. It looks quite different from the original Beach Bandit, with a larger size, suspension on both the front and rear, more lights, side mirrors (made with this locking hinge part), and a windscreen. Click any image for a larger version. Here is the buggy and windsurfer, completely assembled. Here is the buggy with the windsurfer disassembled and mounted. The life jacket hangs on the hook in the back, just as in the original Beach Bandit. Here is the LDD file, from which instructions can be generated. Please note: I had to mock up the suspension elements and minifigure decorations in the LDD file. Brickshelf Gallery -Toa Of Justice P.S. Rather than the DSLR camera I have used to take pictures of MOCs in the past, I tried using my newly acquired Nokia Lumia 920 for these pictures. They were cropped and edited on the phone itself before being transferred to my computer for minimal processing (primarily renaming and resizing). I think they turned out great, once I learned not to use the phone's digital zoom. What do you think? P.P.S. Color gradient in the title text courtesy of http://www.tektek.org/color/.

  6. Hmm... I looked at the clone model, and I must say that your model looks 2,013% better than that clone hunk of junk. [un]enlighten[ed] ought to be ashamed of themselves for copying official LEGO sets... -Toa Of Justice
  7. Nice job with the chrome so far, ed-orange. I especially like how the engine, smokestacks, and mirrors turned out. Won't the chrome on the gears rub off if you run the motor though? -Toa Of Justice
  8. I have just posted the final version of my model. If you have the time to comment, I would appreciate it. -Toa Of Justice

  11. Thank you very much! And congratulations to you and Leewan as well! -Toa Of Justice
  12. Thanks for the nice comment and MOC link, PoloLeono! I really like how you attached the wheels at an angle like that. Of the 2 versions, I like version 2 for its realism, but version 1 is also cool because of the angled wheels. I'd say they're about equally great! -Toa Of Justice
  13. Thanks, Rick. Now I know why I didn't recognize those pieces at first--I've never seen that set before! -Toa Of Justice
  14. This is one of the greatest MOCs I've ever seen! Does anyone know what piece(s) was/were used to make the yellow and red spilled paint? -Toa Of Justice
  15. Thanks, both of you! I appreciate your feedback, but I prefer the "windshield" shape of the original model. Until LEGO makes an appropriately shaped and sized windshield element, I think I'll just keep mine as-is. -Toa Of Justice EDIT: I made a few minor changes to the roof and door mirrors. Click the image to enlarge it, or click here for the LXF file. For Version 3, I fixed the black stripe as well. Version 2 can be found here.
  16. Awesome MOC! If it were run in reverse, it would make a cool countdown clock! -Toa Of Justice
  17. UPDATE - September 15, 2013: The final version (with real photos) has replaced the first version in this post. There's another revamp of this model on Eurobricks, but I had no idea it existed before I decided to make my own version. Click any spoiler tag to reveal the images underneath, and click any picture to see a larger one. 18. Thanks, everyone! The blades are too dull and soft to cause any serious harm. Also, I think my model would end up more damaged than any intended target. -Toa Of Justice
  19. Version 1.0 was made way back in April 2008. Version 2.0 came shortly afterward, in May 2008. Then, in July 2013, more than 5 years after the original revamp, I decided to rebuild my MOC. Click any image for a larger version. Here's the glaive in closed mode. After opening it by twisting the core knobs, it looks like this. I also improved the display stand for this model. The glaive slides over the angled beam in the middle and in between the angled beams on the sides. LXF file | Parts List (.xlsx format) | Brickshelf Gallery -Toa Of Justice
  20. Sort of, but I needed to stick 1x1 round plates under the TECHNIC elements. LXF File -Toa Of Justice EDIT: Here is a version without the 1x1 round plates. I had to use scaffolding to bring the elements together, and they're not quite attached, but they are closer together than in the first file.

  24. 7164 - Preston Stormer - Theme: Hero Factory LXF File <LDD version 4.3.6; brick version 1182> Error: Part 87800 (Stormer's weapon) can't be dual-colored. (Fixed in brick version 1182!) -Toa Of Justice
  25. As the image above (and this LXF file) demonstrates, Part 87800 cannot be placed flush against the arm, unlike in real life. -Toa Of Justice
