  1. Very clever. Two functions from a set with only 1 gear is impressive. The use of the turntable is inspired as well.
  2. Real chrome not, but this year a spaceship of the guardians of the galaxy was released that contained a lot of silver metalic technic panels... So the parts are available... One can always hope... Or at least until the pics of H2 leak out
  3. I think ZBLJ means the 1564.2 The 6.5L shocks are repaired, you can now rotate them without falling apart. The clutch driving ring can also be moved inside a 16T clutch gear again. In the technic section I see no new parts at first glance

  6. Great build, well done. I always wanted to build these seilbahnen when I was a kid. The cabs are a little dangerous for the passengers though

The Rare Red Grader Here is my entry for the [TC5] competition (based on the 8261 and 8048): + = The rare red grader It features: - Steering : HoG + steering in the cab - Pendular suspension on the front axle - Pendular suspension on the rear axle - Grader blade with the following articulation possibilities: - up/down (operated by pushing the rod forward or backward. It has a spring loaded knee-jack mechanism to keep it either up or down) - tilt around the vertical axis (operated by turning the wheel on the rod) - tilt around the horizontal axis (to make it follow the ground.   9. Respect for the perserverance. I know how these projects can wear you out and the temptation is always there to stop and start on this newer, greater, better idea. I really like the modular approach, it is well executed. The bodywork is a bit too boxy for my taste though, I'm not a big fan of stacked beams to close the body. But I suspect that this is also driven by your parts availability?
  10. I really don't have the same experience as you have. I have a lot of old 9V motors (both the big blocky grey ones and the micromotors), I have thrown at least 10 big ones in the bin because the axle was completely stuck. I don't even know how many micromotors I had to throw away for the same reason. So far I never had a failure with a PF motor. What is even better with the PF system is that this offers a wide range of speed-torque combinations that were never possible with the 9V system (M/L/XL/servo motor). The only way to achieve that was through the use of notoriously energy-wasting gear-reductions using lego gears. As for the cables, I also have a lot of these, and yes they combine very easily in brick-built constructions, but in the studless technic it really doesn't work easy. The lights are nice, but again mainly in the brick-built constructions, in studless the new PF lights are much better. The plates I sometimes miss as well. I now have to stack all those connectors into one big pile, whereas with a plate you can spread sideways if needed. Summarizing my opinion: in brickbuilt model-team like constructions the old 9V system has some advantages in the lighting department, but other than that I realy do hope that we will never get the old system back.

  12. I used the third one in my (still WIP) Liebherr LTM11200. It is used to brace the connection between the upperstructure and the (two-way adjustable) arm that holds the (one-way adjustable) operator cabin. It was an almost perfect fit for the connection I wanted to make. (Three functions going through + a lot of mechanical torque + very limited space --> one-piece solution). This is actually also a very nice piece that I only used once (in my F14 Tomcat):

  15. Wow, that is a great model. I really like the front with the orange X. The scissor doors are great as well. I'm not too sure about the back of the vehicle with the chains and the pullback lock. It feels a little overdone.
  16. This is getting better and better... I like the colour of the chair, that makes it really pop. The fake engine is not my favorite part though, too many exposed pins for my taste.
  17. Can you use the steering hubs of the 8880? At least one pivot point is than pretty strong (allthough also that joint relies on two small plastic protrusions).
  18. I like the model, nice, different. But I feel it is a very small C-model for this set. I think you can get more functions (steering...) in your boat if you scale it up a bit.

  20. I just checked my 42026, but that has a flat top as well. So if it is a new mold it is already in use.
  21. The technic clutch drivingring (#6539) can't be moved inside the 16T clutch gear (#6542) where it was possible in previous versions (if I open up older files the gears are being removed). It is still possible to move the drivingring inside the clutch middle ring (#32187) and that also fits inside the gear... So which part is off now??? If the driving ring is too big it shouldn't fit in the middle ring, but it does. If the gear is too small, the middle ring shouldn't fit in, but it does.
  22. I don't know what to say. Another tragic death in the lego modeling community. I can still remember the day that James Jessiman passed away. My heart goes out to Sergio's family and friends.

  25. Way cool!!! Love the looks, love the odd moving parts, love the controls... You must have had loads of fun with this thing
