    WOW, This is really great tow truck, such nice color combination, very nice details and chromed parts - if you do not look closely enough (and see sloped parts and characteristic 24 X 43 rims), you could think that this photos are photos of a real truck in some studio . I must admit this model impressed me so much that I've decided to make tow truck of one U.S. classic as Technic model. I bow to artist @Dennis Bosman

    That is correct, so lots of our projects remain unfinished because we want to make good models for existing vehicles or other stuff that we use as inspirations... Talking about "42070 color", we got panels that are (mostly) exclusive to Technic, but liftarms can be used in other LEGO Themes. What is very positive is that wheel racing medium 56 X 34 is available in light bluish gray, black, red and yellow so we have variety of new possibilities (now we only need lime green ) https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=15038#T=C

    It looks much better now ...my version of super-car will be yellow (some day when there will be available parts in yellow that I need)

    Just one thing - I've noticed that some light bluish gray 16 tooth gears reinforced (within 8110 set) and some dark bluish gray differentials have different shades, so I have one question @Jim - does this discussion include gears or just group of parts that you have organized in list above? Thanks

    Splitting this discussion about colors into new separate topic is not bad idea at all, or to rename this topic in General Part and Part Color Discussion Yes indeed, but @Jim has a point - probably 20% of our posts here are dealing with colors and color-related (OK new) parts

    It looks good in orange. I think color usage is in correlation to price for plastic granules used to make LEGO parts. Remember sudden change from old light gray to light bluish gray and old dark gray to dark bluish gray. Not to mention newer shades of yellow etc...

    You're welcome. I was asking about scale because I've decides recently to make all my models in scale 1:17,5 to fit @2LegoOrNot2Lego... (Ingmar's) trucks. Just joking about Ingmar, but last weekend I managed to make CLAAS tire to be 110mm in diameter with 94.8 baloon tire and 10,6 motorcycle tire inside all...so I can make models that I like from trucks to tractor (except cars) in this scale. 8110 set is simply top heavy and steering is very bad, so I've made this one to use 68.8 X 24 tires from black cat... When video will be released, I'll be glad to watch it

    I would be possible that make just one smaller gear inside to make differential narrow about 2 studs... I'm still very skeptic about this too, but I was skeptic about tractor tires the same way as you about differential, so I will be careful with prognosis...

    Me too despite unusual flat 4 cylinder engine like on old VW Beetle, or more modern Subaru models... I was hoping for some smaller differential but...as @Jonfensu mentioned differentials are something like "endangered" species...becoming rare and more rare

    Usually LEGO does not use differential on models with smaller tires than 62,4 - issue is perhaps from LEGO philosophy so far. Off source if someone has studied models, I don't mind if she / he corrects me. (I think) I could only see tan double bevel 20 tooth gear "at the rear part" on 5 x 7 frame on middle axle, but I could be wrong. What you said could make logic - I've also assumed that there is a differential like this one

    That was something that crossed my mind. On Promobricks pictures I can not see differential - at least not one that we already know. There are also additional pictures of 2H sets on their site...

    Why not, with your experience, determination and 48-72 hours? You have one advantage your 'technic inspector' is not envy on LEGO like my terrier or my cat It really looks simple and nice so far and simple solution is always best solution.

    Everything with CLAAS tires can be great, and knowing your work we are at the begining stage of yet another masterpiece. So far proportions are correct and I like chassis oscilation with turntable (like on my 2007 Case IH quadtrac...) Best wishes for exhibition Michael. We'll keep fingers crossed.

    Not for long Sweeper looks very interesting indeed. @LEGO ADAM very nice, small and beautiful sweeper. It could almost fit the scale of my Unimog U423 I was looking for sweeper attachment for my Unimog for a while

    Yeah and with V8 LPE BTW, fire truck has flat 4 cylinder engine, but is it possible to have new smaller diffrrential in fire truck (set 42068), because it has smaller tires 56mm and ordinary differential wil be just about one stud above ground? This question will be certanly answered by Jim's review, but does anyone know more about it. We know that set 42070 has older type of differenzial recolored in red like clutch gears...
