  1. I was making correlation of several post so this was the end-result...
  2. Behind seats most likely is battery and receivers. In lower right corner of an posted image you can see how front and rear part (I assume that this part is what you mean by sleeper module) are "tilting" and probably by gear-racks. It looks like it has only spare tire inside. 4 wheel steering could be done with liftarms - something like CLAAS Xerion without crab steering module...Portal hubs are just for raising "axle" tube above wheel center, and are the same for non steering and steering axles When we see functionality of B-model we'll make final verdict whether we like it or not, so do not give yourself headaches if someone like it or not. It is kind of Dakar Truck indeed and it should not be pretty but functional...Color scheme is something that is unique and this is probably a part of Eurobricks users disappointment... But this color would be great for this model
  3. Exactly, but it would need completely change of building techniques to make suck big model robust enough, because beams are tending to bent after some particular length and behave more like leaf springs than like something that should support structure. Logical step is to buy 42055 set because someone who decide to do that will number of frames and probably switch to linear actuators, because of pneumatic system sensitivity to weight (despite that I like pneumatics - with one compressor and only one driving ring to activate compressor you have numerous possibilities). another thing is that CLAAS, Unimog, Tumbler and smaller truck tires including 68.8 x 24 (from black cat like on my Uninmog), 62,4 X 20 (from Arocs) and 49.5 x 20 truck tires are the only with correct and realistic pattern. OK perhaps this one can be used also, but baloon tires are a bit useless when you want that model will be as authentic as possible.
  4. It looks very robust and sturdy, but at the same time it looks simple, Personally I don't think it is too ambitious. I forgot to mention that flat engine is very "original" idea and (from concept side of view) it reminds me on Mercedes C-292; the car for 24 Hours race
  5. Brickshelf has that kind of problem very often, so I have personally moved to Bricksafe to avoid such joyful experience . Every time I upload something it happens that Brickshelf admins are on some tropical island for vacation.
  6. You're welcome. I'm also trying to make some gearbox development for my Unimog U423 to make e-motor to look like fuel tank. But I won't publish them so soon. In comprisson to some builders here I'm slow as a sloth
  7. Jim when can we expect your reviews of those sets? Do you have some plan or???
  8. It could be rescue boat - even example town on water like Venice when fire department has to save people from burning building to make evacuation faster...there could be variety of examples. BTW LEGO City has often made "fire" boats; here is a list https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=S&catString=67.518.319 and here is a model that could be 42068 B model (kind of) inspiration https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=7239-1#T=S&O={} image (I hope image is not to large)
  9. or to cure depression when someone is beaten in race with snails
  10. to be transported over land - it is faster than on water. Fire departments also offer helps to people injured in trips in nature etc...
  11. Fire departments have "rubber boats", please take a look https://www.google.hr/search?q=fire+department+rubber+boat&client=opera&hs=LCO&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiI35DEn5zUAhXBAsAKHQm6BGsQsAQIJQ&biw=901&bih=555
  12. My favorite coastguard helicopter with folding rotors to be used on floating platforms... Very nice. I also like rear propeller housing Could it be made to fit 42052 size?
  13. 42069 B model is nice but 42070 B reminds me a bit on 8859 B model (upper left corner on image)
  14. Leo, Perhaps you can use idea from Unimog; here yellow beam - like it was shown before on some eurobricks topic... I had similar problem on my Unimog and only beams could help me to make it sturdy enough Perhaps you can see it on this image of my model I hope it is useful (cant see LDD file due to limited resourced on my computer...)
  15. ...and @Paknaloid; images are instantly published and you do not need several days waiting foe them to be published like on brickshelf.com. Welcome to Eurobricks. Nice effort for first model (modification) presented here
  16. Good question - real trucks rather use in-line 6 - more fuel efficient, easily to balance it, and one important issue - production and development cost. Everything (unfortunately) is economics; just one example - VW Tuareg and Porsche Cayenne are actually the same car, but why is Porsche more expensive? VW is built in higher quantity - quantity is a key factor for price determination. Now back to 6 cylinders - why 6 cylinders. Answer is actually very simple; they are used in trucks (road trucks), special trucks (like Unimog), Tractors, Combine harvesters, self-propelled sprayers etc...I hope you get the picture. Last several years we see that LEGO is trying to make more and more realistic models, so this could be the answer (despite the fact that it is a bit off topic)
  17. if you look at bricklink site, rim dimensions are 62.3mm diameter, 42mm width https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=23800&idColor=11#T=C&C=11 you would have to cut part of 2.2" RC tire to put it over this rim
  18. I was talking about diesel engines, precisely I was using a example of Unimog 5.1 Liter engine with 231HP on models U423 or U323, and my personal opinion is that it should be in-line 6 engine inside such vehicle, because 3 axles towing military - like vehicle must have some 300 Hp and plenty of torque. Your examples actually show models with some 170HP which is probably not enough. Remember that torque is vital for vehicles of such purposes, and the bigger displacement is, there is more room for bigger torque. Please take a look on wikipedia about Hino Ranger https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hino_Ranger I hope that now you understand my point of view. LEGO's point of view is that 6 cylinder engine is to long to fit inside. That would be most welcome to broke current monotony (or better "monochromy")
  19. When you install different tires you'll make decision which tires will be the best and based on this go for optimal bodywork... as far as I see Unimog tires are good if there will be an offroader or (as you allready mentioned) truck (probably mean pick-up) bodywork
  20. For Unimog tires I suggest a bit longer wheelbase to prevent that model looks like Mickey Mouse car or some other cartoon vehicle
  21. @Didumos69 despite my interest mostly (99%) in machinery, when I see your seats and manual mixer, there is only one thing I can say: Small is beautifull
  22. That is what happened when stretching all tires except powerpuller which could be stretched to 123-124 mm diameter and it has propper form...but baloon tires and powerpuller tire have wrong tire pattern for my models
  23. This is interesting - one question what is outer diameter of CLAAS tire on Porsche wheel? I ask this because I need CLAAS tire with 115 mm diameter
