[LDD] [MOC] Darth Vader's Transformation Remix
Jason C. Hand replied to Jason C. Hand's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sorry for getting back to you so late, friend. Anyways, all of the custom plate prints were rendered in the LDD2POVRay program. I just placed decorations found in LDD on the plates, and then used the custom deco feature in LDD2POV (which was a selling point for me ). There is an in-depth tutorial on how to place custom decorations floating around on here: This will help if you're looking to put custom decals on your renders. Anyways, hope this helps, happy building!- 3 replies

My take on the fearsome HK Spider Tank from Terminator: Genisys. Built is as accurately as I could, but took a couple of liberties with it. Namely the head: The head is large, and I really did not feel likely making it that unwieldy for the model. So I shortened it a bit. Also, this thing has front and rear cannons on its arm; it was overkill for the way I designed the arms, so I left the rear cannons off, but gave it a pair of rear-facing rocket launchers on its biceps (one for each side). Also, it has a waist pivot. I will add some other photos of the model as I can.

Micro-Scale Philadelphia City Hall
Jason C. Hand replied to Jason C. Hand's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ok, thanks guys. I will probably go somewhat bigger with this model. I am looking to do the Art Museum, Liberty One and Independence Hall at some point. Maybe even the Comcast(!) Center. -
Hello again all. I am trying to see if I can get something going for a potential LEGO Architecture set dedicated to the City of Philadelphia. As such, here is what I have for now: a micro build of City Hall. Some photos for reference: Brief History: Constructed from 1871 to 1901, $24 million. Houses 700 rooms, including the Mayor's office and chambers for criminal justice and municipal judges. The building is topped off by 37 ft, 27-ton bronze statue of William Penn, founder of the City of Philadelphia. All four sides of the tower feature clocks that are 26 ft in diameter. As for the LEGO model, I've posted one in light yellow and the other in phosphorescent white. Any comments/suggestions are welcome.

LDD MOC - Brick/Plate-built Sauron
Jason C. Hand replied to Jason C. Hand's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
So, I updated the Sauron bigfig MOC that was posted a while back. Re-did his chest armor, head/helmet and feet. Also have a photo of Sauron with a hand made of a 1x1 Plate with Holder, to demonstrate how one can give him open and closed hands, as well as a minifg version of the Dark Lord with a toned-down mace weapon. May update both again later with the addition of capes. As for the bigfig Sauron, any comments or suggestions on how a cape could work on him would be much appreciated. -

Hello all. This was my attempt at building a figure of Sauron from The Lord of the Rings in the vein of Saber-Scorpion. WIP The arm connections that Saber-Scorpion used to build Sauron's arms are not possible in LDD. So, I ended up installing two of the recently-added ball joint rods (added in 4.3.9) on either side and continued building the arms from there. The 1x4 Hinge Plates were also used here to build the Dark Lord's knees, although posing them in LDD may be bit of a pain since one has to click on said joint to get to the correct connection and bend it. Otherwise, Sauron is posable; he also comes with the signature mace weapon he used at the beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring, and has the Ring placed on his "left hand." The third photo is a mockup of Sauron fighting a "clay" King Elendil. I was really trying to build this guy as close to big-fig scale as I could without making him impossibly big. Comments/suggestions welcome.

[Software] LDD2PovRay
Jason C. Hand replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
All new renders done for tonight, posted to Flickr: The model(s) are the Mega Man 1 Robot Masters by DalaGStanator of LDD Gallery. Each photo used a different sky sphere (BG image) in Radiosity. The first one has a significant blue hue while the other remains mostly silver. -

The Real Indiana Jones, So, I followed what you said in the above post, and this is what I got for the test render: The colors used are warm gold, metalized gold, metalized silver, regular silver, regular gold and reddish-gold. Anyway, am I close to the mark? -

These two preceding photos are to show off my latest MOC (or rather, re-doing of an existing Lego product), what I am calling Darth Vader's Transformation Remix. It's my attempt to somehow improve on the original set that was released way back in 2005. Now, the original set (# 7251) included a few key features: Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker, a brick-built FX-9 Surgical Assistant Droid and the operation table. But, seeing as quite a few people out there have recreated this particular scene with much more detail than was included with the set (i.e., background walls, redone operating table, etc), it seemed a bit lacking. So, I made an attempt to expand on the set by adding a few background wall panels, along with various other bricks that serve as "readouts" outlining Vader's condition. Also, while the colors of the bricks used for the original 7251 were already subdued and grave, I wanted to give the remixed version a more doleful and foreboding color scheme. Hence the use of silver & titanium metallics, med. stone grays and blacks, with some other color bricks thrown in to balance out the darker colors. Another thing is that there are only two wire and cable-like structures near the top of the second panel from the left; this I did in an attempt to make it seem as if the "room" was hastily put together, and the builders placed all of the wires and power cables in safe enough areas except for those two. As a matter of fact, the entire top half of panel two is supposed to represent a shoddily built part of the medical apparatus. Overall, this build is inspired by the Yoda Chronicles Holocron Chamber promotional set. LXF file

LDD MOC - LEGO Dimensions Idea: Charlie's Angels
Jason C. Hand posted a topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm not sure if this post belongs in this forum, but not sure where else to put it. Anyways, I had an idea for a new LEGO Dimensions set/fun pack: A Charlie's Angels fun pack! The pack is basically the three main Angels from 1976-7, Jill, Sabrina and Kelly. Also included is a roadster based on an alternate build of #31027 by Berth on Rebrickable. It is also loosely based on the Ford cars that the ladies drove around in on the show. Each Angel comes with a small pistol. -
Hello again guys. This is gonna be my last build for a while. What I did was tackle the 2005-9 Tardis Console, as used by Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant on Doctor Who. I wasn't going for total accuracy for this build, but only to get it as close as I could. Besides that, this model was inspired by a similar model built by 1AnUnearthlyChild from Youtube, and PopulistPeak88 over at the LDD Gallery. More photos on Flickr (Flickshot30). LXF file here Hope you enjoy!
