What made you get out of your LEGO dark age?
eurotrash replied to BearHeart's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Dang Grum! Tip of the hat to you. You're an inspiration. -
I used the Temple of Light because my wife had bought it for me in a 50% off sale. It's a good set for parts and the Mecha is excellent. I started to build an asian restaurant, but there were too many excellent examples already shown here in Eurobricks and so my early attempts got reworked into the Nail Salon. The name of my build still amuses me way more than it should. So, I apologise for it... Thanks for all the comments! Now onto my next Oriental neighborhood building...

Great video and a fantastic build - although it looks a bit more stable than the original vehicle. Those crumble zones don't really work when the entire panels just fall off. Great job and thanks for sharing it with us. -
Great job on the fencing - the tops of those ladders do look like razorwire. But I think my favorite detail is the two-levels you've included in the pavement. I hadn't seen that before.

There's some lovely details in this build. And I really like the attached recycling center.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Oooh! How about a Detective's office upstairs above a Barber shop. -
Welcome to eurobricks nezz! I look forward to seeing your creations.

Oriental Building My economically distressed Lego city has now developed a nascent oriental neighborhood that's getting full of some mashed-up eastern cultured cliched buildings. So, following on from my Chu Nails building http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=98216 and the Octan Travel Agent/Cupcake shop http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=98468 I'd like to now present my new Oriental Building. I was aiming for a building where you could purchase a Gremlin on Christmas Eve on the ground-floor, where Kurt Russell gets into a fight on the middle floor and where Uma Thurman can get taught by Pai Mei on the rooftop terrace. I wanted something that was a bit offset from the street so that it looked mysterious and didn't stand out from it's neighbors. I failed. And here's the rooftop terrace. Many of the parts were liberated from a Ninjago Temple of Light Set. And finally a closer shot of the facade. There's currently no interiors. Thanks for reading! Comments, criticism and ridicule most welcome!

That's a good looking MOC from a classic cheesy movie! Time for a Tremors scene by scene brickfilm I think?
-
I'd go with SSS-PLIDGE....

Thanks to EB and TLG for organizing such an excellent competition. These were worthy winners!

Judging by the answers so far I think the Poll should be set further down the relationship spectrum Q: HAVE YOU EVER TALKED TO A WOMAN AND THAT HASN'T RESULTED IN A RESTRAINING ORDER?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Harsh. I thought the Palace Theatre was really well designed with plenty of lovely interior touches. -
Are you a collector, MODer, or MOCer?
eurotrash replied to Paul B Technic's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hmmm, I don't purchase many sets, but when I do they all get built according to the instructions - then most of them get disassembled for MOCs (although there's have been a couple of MODs). So the percentages won't total 100%, but I'd say SETS - 100% -> 20% remain intact MOD - 30% of SETS MOC - 80% of my TIME -
Chelsea 9/10. They didn't overpay for anyone, their new players made an immediate impact and they finally offloaded Torres. I think Mourinho's feeling pretty good about it all. (MUFC 3/10. Overpaid for Di Maria and Falcao. Still haven't fixed up their defensive woes. And Rooney seems inadequate for the captaincy.)

He could make a difference, but I still think Arsenal will end up competing for 4th or 5th place.

This needs to be built in bricks right now! And then distressed a bit - broken windows, graffiti , water stains and junked bikes in the stair wells. Very JG Ballard. Very 'High Rise'.

Did you know how to use Lego as an aphrodisiac? ....Use a couple of Technic beams as a splint.

I didn't think Howard had a 'mare of a game - sure he might have done better on a couple of those. The defence on both teams look shabby, but the forwards though look lethal Go Chelsea!

Life's good OTW. My weekend was going perfectly until I realised I had Tim Howard on my Fantasy Team.... What a game at Goodison.

Good review. Thanks for that.
