  1. Wow, it looks like you've done a great job designing it! I really do hope you build it in real bricks, this would be quite a project to do! Not to mention awesome fun to build
  2. While I don't care for spoilers this time round, doing a good job? Of what... being off topic?
  3. But what are your plans for them? Retirement investment...? Save them for your kids further down the line...? Use them for parts...? Or just keep storing them until all eternity...? (Because if it's the last one, I just don't understand it...?)
  4. That looks an impressive ship, and I certainly believe it has the star wars look going on! The question is... Will you be building this beast of a cargo ship in real bricks? Great job regardless!!
  5. For the basics, you'll need to know how many LEDs there are needing power for starters, and then I'm assuming that small pcb with chips enables the lights to flash and the sound to work, so how much power they would need. Its beyond my knowledge though, electronics is all magic to me :(
  6. If you re-read what I said, I said 'expect studs in a set, especially if there is large surface areas'. I didn't say there would be next to no studs. The A-wing is tiny, and given the amount of slopes available, there would be extremely minimal. It also has a small profile. Studs will be apparent where TLG have had to either cheap out and keep the cost down rather than using bricks and SNOT, or for strength of the structure. In large playset vehicles with large surface areas; Kylo Ren's ship, the Troop Transport, the Imp Shuttle Tydirium (does have quite a few studs, but they have managed to use tiles in certain places to reduce it). they all have somewhat large surface areas to fill up. The small Rogue One 75152 set only has studs visible where it seems they could not make do otherwise. It does look pretty minimal on studs. 75155 has a lot of large surface areas, and thin wings to represent, therefore, there will be studs for that. There is no way they would use bricks simply because of structural strength of it being a *toy* and needing to stand up to playing with. The large black tri-winged ship? Again, large surface areas. It is to be expected.
  7. The only sets there won't be many studs is UCS. Other than that, expect studs in a set, especially if there is large surface areas. It's Lego. It's a given....
  8. Why do I get the feeling its going to be at least half the size if not smaller...
  9. This looks really good! I certainly wouldn't mind having one of these beauties on my mantel piece! Seeing how nicely accurate this looks, and with a decent scaling to the minifigs, it would be interesting to see a Ferdinand
  10. If you rear the thread of peoples responses, you'd find it does ;) In his flickr links. Looks good too!
  11. So, After having done my microfighter Hoth scene which went down quite well, I decided to do an Endor one. In a conversation that followed, I jokingly said I should do one with a Friends twist, and call it 'Friendor'. I wanted to create something that would, when on display, give girls something to enjoy looking at rather than something that could typically be perceived as what a male would normally enjoy. However my job position has taken a turn which means I won't be able to do anything to do with lego (or pretty much anything) for the next year, and so thought I would share this little start of it with you guys as I've no idea if I will manage to get round to it after I come back. So, I had planned to do a microfighter imperial shuttle. When I saw the Elves dragons the idea instantly popped into my head to crossover the dragon and imperial shuttle. This is what I came up with... I think you can probably see the slight nod to the shuttle The dragon could stand on its own 2 feet without the 2x2 boat stud on the bottom, but the 2x2 curved tile kept coming off as it has a weak clutch strength. So figured I would just use the boat stud, and have the tail help with stability while it is standing on its feet. In flight mode, it looks pretty good on a stand. It is generally a pretty sturdy build too. My only real issue i had with this was how to get a minidoll to sit in it infront of the main fin. This was the best solution I could come up with... I'm also not entirely satisfied with how the top of the main fin has turned out, but can't dedicate anymore money into this at the moment (surprising how expensive these colourful parts are!)More pics of it on my flickr. C&C welcome. Microfighter Star Wars/Elves crossover by Sam, on Flickr Microfighter Star Wars/Elves crossover by Sam, on Flickr Microfighter Star Wars/Elves crossover by Sam, on Flickr
  12. I agree with Darth Wayne, the specific word I was going to use to describe this is 'retro'. I like the use of the old pieces, specially the corner wall parts, and the overall style is definitely retro, but up to date, if you know what I mean? I really like it!
  13. You're going to have a long wait. I seriously doubt it will drop below the Euro. Sure, it will fluxuate while the market figures out what the hell is going on, but it won't get THAT bad. The UK still has a strong economy (it was second in Europe afterall) so don't expect much of a saving on Lego...
  14. I don't often buy instructions for models of people's mocs (Anio does too many good models for me to keep up with the cost!) But I have bought 2 before. And without a doubt, I would purchase yours should they become available! Any chance of a side by side comparison pic for size purposes with a 7675 version, or even the most recent one?
  15. It's politics, I'm pretty sure it doesn't belong here at all. And I'm sure that seeing as the US EB'ers are welcome here, there's no reason why the UK people can't be too. I come here to enjoy Lego, not see more mention of the UK leaving Anyone got up to date info on when the DS mk2 is likely to be revealed? I'm really keen to see what they've done with it compared to the 10188
  16. That is a massive improvement over the original! I can't believe how seamless the joins are on all the wedge plates too! It's like they were all made specifically for that model with those uses in mind If that got released, I'd be straight on that. Have always loved the look of the AT-TE, and you've definitely done it justice for a minifig scale version! Any idea on the number of pieces?
  17. Looks like a good solid build being so tiny too! I like the legs, and the body they are attached to, but I'm struggling to see the resemblance of the head/cockpit area to the AT-ST's, even in a chibi sort of way Im not quite understanding the use of the 1x2 cheese slopes, nor the 2x2 45 degree inverted slopes?
  18. I liked the look of the set when I first saw it, but after your review? It's made it abundantly clear I MUST HAVE IT!!! Really nice and in-depth review, appreciated! As for the motorbike being classed as 'looking oversized', I'd jsut call it a BMW motorbike. Those are known for being quite big bulky bikes, as can be seen here: http://moto.zombdrive.com/images/bmw-sport-touring-2.jpg just for one example. I think the lego motorbikes are fine Just one question, when exactly is this set being released?
  19. That was from Super Mario World on the SNES, loved that game! And a pretty nifty little add-on mech design! Good thinking!
  20. Might it not be possible that they might do Snoke in the same manner as in this set? http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Super-Hero-Airport-Battle-76051?fromListing=listing
  21. Thinking about it, yeah, 9500 and either jedi shuttle or republic attack shuttle (which for 45 euros is actually pretty decent!)
  22. Interesting question, But having already got most of them, so knowing what they are like, I'd go for: 8019 7931 And then either: 7669 7295 (which slightly breaks the balance by 5, but is worth it) Or I'd break the balance by an additional 15 and get: 8095. I'd prefer grievous as his ship in 8095 to me was a really good solid design, and a decent little ship to swoosh. I'd be gutted at not getting the 9500 though as that is a very decent set, with awesome figs.
