If I want a minifig to represent Darth Vader, then I expect him to LOOK like him in many aspects. If I want a minifig to represent a female, then I expect it to LOOK like it in many aspects. I don't want a 'generic' looking fig that you really have to squint at just to tell what it is supposed to be. Why are you not complaining how it is sexist that all the female hair styles are 'stereotypically' female? Or that they wear make up or have accentuated eye lashes? Not all females wear make up. Some men now wear make up. Lots of women have short hair similar style to a mans. Why are you not complaining of these things? The accentuated waist is just *another* method to detail it as being a female as believe it or not, females do often have *curvier* waists than males do. Karalora, it is NOT sexism at all. It IS warranted as it helps to identify the minifigs *clearly* as females. Take either one of the things away that I just mentioned that helps define a female minifig and you start to have a gender neutral fig. I and many others don't want gender neutral figs, but female figs that look female. If I want a 'butchy' looking female minifig, or a larger bodied female, Ill swap parts around to suit. That's the great thing with Lego, you can swap what you like around to achieve what you want. So what about all the larger bodied people? Are they being discriminated against because they aren't being fairly represented in numbers of figs representing them? Where does all this 'sexism/discrimination' ever end? Why can't people just get over it and let it be what it is. TLG are pretty good at catering to every thing, we now have disabled people too. Tey aren't intentionally doing it, and I'm pretty sure with all its female employees, are up to speed on the current status of discrimination...

AT-AT MOC (plus-sized -- but not super big)
Fuppylodders replied to Raskolnikov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I never get bored of seeing AT-AT mocs, and this is definitely no exception, you have done a really good job for the size you have done it in. I'd say if TLG did a UCS version, this is probably what I would expect from them. Excellent job! -
Is the lxf available for the brick separator? I'd be quite interested in actually making one of them...

What sets do you think are a good investment right now?
Fuppylodders replied to Lasivian's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Not exactly sure why people are giving this thread the time of day... No one really likes scalpers except those that do it as it is against the intention of Lego, and hurts real fans wallets, and the original poster would have taken more time to create an account, opening this thread and typing the question than a simple google search to find out when it got released which would have given an indication that the set will not be retiring any time soon. Instead he just wants people too tell him how to make easy money riding the Lego gravy train... -
I quite like it! Its strange how adding that little bit of detail livens up the modular a lot! The pharmacy sign is a nice touch too! I wonder what it would look like in trans green...?
-
I would have thought the Modulars were in a manner of speaking, City's D2C sets...?

The UCS Hype. What will 2017 bring? (40th Anniversary)
Fuppylodders replied to Major_Ton's topic in LEGO Star Wars
While a great idea in theory... For us anyway... It's giving me nightmare flashbacks to the Assault on Hoth kind of style... -
I think what you appear to be missing with regards to the cockpit/screen area, is that its actually not the same as a typical TIE. The screen is almost the same diameter as the round fuselage behind it, itself. The majority of pictures show this, but a few certain perspectives make it appear like the screen is quite smaller. That is just due to the perspective, as the fuselage that the cockpit glass is connected to is quite bulbous and protruding from the connecting block (or whatever it is called, that connects the 2 fuselages together). That's where my issue arises with regards to it.

According to the picture you linked, it actually looks just the right size. As a system scale (minifig) set, it looks pretty spot on, good job for the short amount of time you did it in!

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors
Fuppylodders replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm confidant you can cross off X-Wing from that list right away, Seriously doubt they would re-release a recently renewed version this soon for a 40th anniversary. -
[MOC] [WIP] The Command of the AT-AT
Fuppylodders replied to LiLmeFromDaFuture's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Tracytron, you need to give up with bugging him with suggestions for it. It isn't as simple as you are making it out to be. By all means go ahead and try it yourself with your own design, but lilme is going for extremely high detail, and most definitely will not achieve their desired amount of detail at that scale with motorised legs. It just isn't possible. Move on already... -
Going to be honest, I'm not keen on the cockpit , nor the pylons... The cockpit seems too instantly round and then too flat with the edge of the bricks. The large curved bricks are just too big and bulbus, the screen should be close to as large as the diameter of the cockpit itself. The pylon just looks a bit too angled and flat :s

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors
Fuppylodders replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
He's saying you can't apply logic to their choice of releases. So the fact there was recently a release of a system scale set, bears no difference on if they would release a UCS. -
[MOD/MOC] Expanding the 10254 Winter Holiday Train
Fuppylodders replied to mouseketeer's topic in LEGO Town
I think you've just made it what we wish it had been like! That passenger car should have been part of the set instead of the small one. As others have said, that cocoa cart!! Loving it! Especially the little glasses off the side of it! The reindeer car is a nice touch too, great job on making this look complete! -
The UCS Hype. What will 2017 bring? (40th Anniversary)
Fuppylodders replied to Major_Ton's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I enjoy Star Wars ships as much a the next guy. But personally, i struggle to fork out the rrp for what is essentially a 3150 piece imitation door wedge (most in part due to it being scaled down so much). The MF is a pretty decent looking space ship which is just pure eye candy in Lego form. I'd say barely comparable, if only for the fact it is the second biggest/most expensive SW ship they have released since. Also, are you able to state your source for the SSD not selling well? -
Hopefully they dont, and they keep the pricing strategy similar. Although £170 seems too cheap for this... Then again, Big Ben is cheap for the amount of parts, but that has lots of tiny parts. The other prices seem reasonably correct. If that is the correct price, I'll have to get 2 of these! As it is, I think this is a great looking set. Lots of tiny details from the looks of it, 3 buildings crammed in, but still nicely proportioned. The only thing I'd change regarding the colour of the dark blue tower, will actually be the red 2x2x2 slopes, as the dark blue seems fine, just not with the red. I also think, with 2 of these sets (maybe even just 1), it offers a very easy option to mod it to be a block of flats/apartments. Just carry on the mid floor styling to the ground, remove the shop glass fronts, make the middle building as the main entrance and change the interior. Join the left building to the right, and there you have a nice set of apartments, or even a nice new hotel.

The UCS Hype. What will 2017 bring? (40th Anniversary)
Fuppylodders replied to Major_Ton's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm actually worried about the potential of a re-do of a UCS MF.... due to a certain clone brand copying it and making it available for a lot cheaper, there are now people that will make do with that instead of the real thing. I have doubts that TLG would release one while the issue of the clone brand having its copy available is ongoing. I hope not -
This isn't simply 'Yet another Y-Wing'... It's a dmaclego Y-Wing. Definitely separated from the rest (Even though there are some great ones out there!) Your techniques used in this are something else! Good spot on the keyring too, Id not have noticed that, but that is unique/different! It most definitely impressive! And the lights give it a nice final touch too! Great job!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Fuppylodders replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I think 'Assembly Square' is just a full on code name, in that an assembly is the bricks (which get assembled to build the modular), and square is what the modular bricks are built on (the baseplates). I don't think Assembly Square relates at all to what the building itself could actually be. -

LEGO Ideas: 21310 Old Fishing Store (Fall 2017)
Fuppylodders replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Town
I wonder if they'll give it the 'winter village' treatment, where it has a nice detailed front and sides on it but with no back... -
I really like this! Id say leave the amount of trees as it is. It helps to emphasise the feeling that it is just those 2 fighting it out alone. As for that play feature, touch of genius! One improvement I would play around with trying to achieve, maybe remove the lowest part of the cliff faces and instead create a flat level of lava (if it was lava down there? I think it was, but really cant remember now...) that is attached to one side and slides under the other, so that it looks like it is opening up and filled with lava... if you get what I mean...?

Will those triple points only be on Star Wars related items, or across the board?
