Portal of Fire - The Cult of The Great Wyrm enters
soccerkid6 replied to Hexx's topic in Guilds of Historica
Welcome to the Guilds! You're already off to a good start with this fearsome group -
The upgradeseems to be going quite well so far! Since I have a website of my own, I can understand how much work it takes to make a switch like this I haven't figured out how to make an image also a link. My old method of inserting the image. clicking on it, and then inserting a link doesn't work anymore it would seem. Anyone found a way to make an image also be a link?

Age of Mitgardia (free-build-challenge)

Archery Phase 1 -
I had fun experimenting with the cross bracing below the platform, and trying to simulate hay bales around the targets Even in the snow, Mitgardian archers continue their practice. There are a few more pictures on brickbuilt. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome, I should be posting the second phase fairly soon

AoM: Belltower Outpost, Tower Phase I
soccerkid6 replied to Legofin2012's topic in Guilds of Historica
You really created a wonderfully inspiring Mitgardian location here! The rocky base topped with snow is excellent, and the belltower being perched on the edge is perfect The way you angled the beams to support it and the decoration on top are my favorite details Very nice work with the path and building too, that window design... -

Lovely Goblin Town build! I really like how you tiled the black base to show the continuing depths of the caverns. Great rickety wooden effect throughout too -

Quite a nice looking watchtower. The stout feel is great, and the wooden sections help break up the stone walls

Nice start to your farm phases. The string fence is a neat design, and the bags are a nice detail. Fun scarecrow too

The SNOT landscape here is pretty cool, it gives a much different look than standard studs up designs- 5 replies

Delightful Nocty landscape! The bridge and trees are the biggest highlights for me, though the rockwork and unique river are also excellent

Very cool Mitgardian figs you have there The stalactites are a fun touch for sure, and unique. I'll second the suggestion for a border, black or otherwise -
Laesonar 1 - Unexpected Encounters [Part 1]
soccerkid6 replied to en_zoo's topic in Guilds of Historica
It's great to see your first Avalonian build, and what a strong start you've made! Lovely forest look, and I think the landscape is your best yet. Nice color blending, plus height changes make it pop Very fun story as well, and I don't think it was too long, just right I'd say- 21 replies

The winding pathway is extremely cool Cool round tower too, have you looked into the Guilds of Historica?

John (LittleJohn) and I decided to do a collab series based around re-imagining old set themes. Adventurers is a theme we’ve liked for years, though we never had any of the sets. After getting some of the original figs at Brickfair, Virginia, we wanted to put them to good use. The landscape and temple were inspired by Grant Davis and Mark of Falworth. Johnny Thunder and his team of Adventurers have discovered an uncharted jungle island. Within the dense vegetation they find the entrance to a ruined temple! After leaping from pillar to pillar, over the crocodile swamp, Johnny reaches the gateway. They’re not the first ones there though, as the treasure-seeking gang boss, G.R. Edy is there with some henchmen. Will Johnny be able to prevail, and will Dr. Kilroy fall to the alligators? We hope you enjoy, and you can see plenty more pictures on our website

I have a finished Age of Mitgardia build that I'll be posting soon, anyone else have new builds coming soon? -
Love the brickwork with red and tan Very nicely incorporated printed parts, they fit the medieval setting surprisingly well. The drummer up in the tower is great
-
That's what I meant with "height below the battlements", should have stated it differently

@en_zoo: We Mitgardians certainly wouldn't be offended if you decide to show some progressing buildings in Avalonia -
Cool finish to the wall phases I like your use of plate modified and curved slopes as supports for the battlements. I think the wall looks a bit top heavy right now though. A bit more height below the battlements. with some buttresses perhaps, would counteract the weight of the large crenelations you have

Very nicely done! I like the SNOT angled plates used to help create the hull's shape Featured on brickbuilt

What a wonderful depiction of the Avalonian countryside The variety of forests and plains is quite attractive. Superb road and stone wall designs too I agree with Kai that the boat and outhouse are really nice details
