  1. New (Kaliphlin) build: I'm working on another Mitgardian build that should be finished soon as well Here's my finished freebuild:
  2. Another contribution to the Ye Old Merry Battleground display. I had a lot of fun with this build, using tan and dark bley together, along with the red and dark red as accents. It seemed to fit Kaliphlin well, so here it is. I'll be posting my other YOMB builds in the Historic Themes soon. Ellena’s bakery is well known for her delicious pies, breads, and other baked goods. "Well good evening Zia," Ellena said as she set aside her rolling pin. "It is a peaceful night, a nice change from the recent wars and uprisings in the land. But I didn't come here to discuss politics, I wanted to buy 2 loaves of bread and a tray of cookies." "Certainly!" Ellena replied, "I have some that still warm, here you are." "Thank you! I will likely be back tomorrow to pick up some tarts." Zia said, as she paid for the food. "You're welcome to stop by anytime, good night." More pictures on brickbuilt. Thanks for looking
  3. What a beauty Great layout, and the white additions fit in wonderfully Cool and unique rockwork below the castle too
  4. I'm not quite sure what to say about this build. You have such unique texture style, and it always looks absolutely amazing Besides the brilliant lava falls, wonderfully detailed ruins, organic rockwork, and frightening creature, I'm amazed by your base that is 3d on the bottom. I think your vignette for the Summer Joust was your first time doing that? In any case, it's an incredibly genius idea, and I hope it gains popularity in the LEGO community
  5. Location: C04, Aeristus Tags: Vehicle, Piracy, Land Vehicle, Military, Spying Job: Driver Start Log: Back to work again, this time as part of time on Aeristus, sent to weaken Octan operations there. Naturally this was a stealth mission, so our vehicles were equipped with a darker colorscheme than usual, allowing us to blend into the night. Most recently we came across an Octan robot, it fled, but stood no chance against the cannons on my tank. Good to build for MANTIS again! The printed brick was a gift from Lady K at BFVA
  6. I thought that wagon looked familiar, great repurposing! I like your hitching arrangement for the 3 horses, and the different supplies are nicely detailed
  7. Your terrain keeps getting better As the others suggested, stepping the river more gradually to make a curve, rather than corner, would look much more natural. Excellent fig posing for a battle
  8. Wonderful detailing all around! The curved walls are definitely eye-catching, but I also really like the entrance way design, and tree mosaic Lovely garden inside too
  9. I sometimes use Google to find my older topics as well.
  10. Great update! Always very encouraging to see builders putting advice to good use The SNOT tiles for the back wall give a very nice texture, and I like the wedge plates used to give the roof a more unique shape
  11. Great group of soldiers, I like how you divided them up into different sections
  12. Brilliant home for the Forestmen It's amazing how well you conveyed the forest look, with so few trees! The squirrel and bird are nice touches, and I also like the extra weapons stowed away inside the little look out tower
  13. Good photography, and snow-scaping The uneven palisade, with dark brown mixed in looks quite nice, though as others have mentioned, a small building fit in somewhere would be great. Or even a wagon or cart traveling along next to it
  14. Thanks Tomsche, I'm glad you were able to check out the full article Thanks! The decorations below the battlements were one of my favorite designs in this build Thank you, Puvel! Thanks BC, yeah, John and I had all our builds for this collab, and Nordheim together all at once. Way more than we've ever had together at once before. Thanks Gideon! I tried to vary the mossy patches, but it did end up looking pretty regular, thanks for the tips
  15. Great, glad to hear that, besides the fleshy part... Yellows forever! Conventions do take a lot of work, good to know you're still planning Mitgardian stuff though You don't plan on placing the diorama in GoH? Fun stories/characters can also offer good inspiration for builds
  16. It's been a bit quiet around here lately, anyone have MOCs in the works? Here's a freebuild placed in Avalonia:
  17. This was built as part of the InnovaLUG collab, Ye Old Merry Battleground, for Brickfair Virginia.Check out the full collab here. Given the colorscheme and landscape, I thought this would fit well in Avalonia. I enjoyed getting to use some of our new sand green parts, and small castles/manors are always fun to build. There is no interior as when building this, Nordheim was still altogether and I was short on parts and time. Sir Ruari Leanin leads some of his soldiers out on a tax collecting tour. Meanwhile, some Forestmen take advantage of his leave-taking... There are a few more pictures on brickbuilt. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome
  18. Great work, Mark! It was amazing to see this in person, I think my favorite building of the bunch has to be the church @BrickCurve: Like this?
  19. Thanks! It was pretty exciting for us when we first saw it all together, so I'm glad you like it so much too. Thanks Garmadon! The photography was perhaps the biggest challenge with this build, our backdrop just isn't big enough Thanks Titus Thank you! Thanks en_zoo, we were very pleased with the end product. Thank you! Thanks bricklover, I was surprised we won to be honest, as there were some amazing and way bigger castle layouts there. Thanks BC! Thank you
  20. Wonderful addition to the display! The roof looks lovely, but the stonework steals the show here I like the recessed sections on the tower of the church, they're a nice touch to break up the flatness
  21. The trees are a good touch to add to the Avalonian atmosphere That poor house Good job with the burnt effect, sad though it might be.
  22. Very solid looking gatehouse! I too think this is your best build yet, and like the roofed walkway, and archway design a lot As BC said, used cameras are a great option, that's how I bought my current camera
