  1. Nice Batmobile! I like the idea of mixing in some Le Mans racing style. That engine is great, too. Now that we have those nice Speed Champions canopies - have you tried to use them here as well? Guess that would meet the style quite nicely, too.

    Limousine

Nice! The wing or fin is a so-called boomerang antenna. Using the mudguard piece to mimic it is a great idea. I also like the rest of the limo, though I'm no fan of the wheels sticking out on this type of car. However, it looks very Town-ish because of that, would be a nice City set.
  3. Thank you very much! Btw. there are no improper techniques applied here, no bricks were harmed in the making, there's no glue, it's 100 % Lego. Thanks a lot, glad you like them!
  4. Thanks. Nice idea to snot the sides of the container.
  5. Thank you, glad you like them! Looking forward to seeing your versions.
  6. Great collection of vehicles! The cars in the first picture even seem to match the smaller-scaled modulars which is nice. I really like the style of your vehicles - they somehow look Town-ish, but there's a wide range of shapes and techniques to make them look more realistic. I guess my favourite is the container truck (could you tell something about the measurements of the container?). The ADU truck looks very nice, too. Also the Baywatch truck is a great idea, looks very playable. (And I like the Highway Patrol Mustang ,,, ). Anyhow, they all look very nice, would be great to see them "in the brick".
  7. I'm glad it did. Guess it's still an important subject. Sounds good. In my opinion 8w trucks are a bit large in comparison to trains but that depends on the vehicles you have in your town.
  8. There is a - very sophisticated - built solution for that problem by lafabrick, see Just in case ...
  9. Many thanks guys!
  10. Great stuff! I really like your different solutions to mimic certain shapes and textures. I especially love the Bauhaus builds and the building by Le Corbusier. Btw. the Dessau masters house you've chosen is a reconstruction (two of the seven houses were destroyed in WW II) - the new build just mimics the shape but has no details of the original building.
  11. Looks great! It does deserve better pics, though. With a Flickr account you may embed photos of a much better quality.
  12. Mind-blowing.  The facade is near to perfection (it's so perfect that the Nonlego lettering seems completely unnecessary to me). But what really stands out here is the interior, without doubt one of the best interiors of a Lego building I've ever seen, style- and technique-wise. The decoration is just stunning. Great that it can be seen from the outside. I'd love to see much more (and larger) pics of that. Two questions: Is the lighting Lego or Nonlego? I somehow can't figure out how you did the windows on the second floor. Could you tell something about that? Anyhow congrats on this masterpiece!
  13. Thank you! Thanks a lot! Great! Though I'm no fan of nonlego gear, this is a nice collection of 007 minifigs.
  14. Thanks for adding the pics. 60113 rallye car and 60115 4x4 have some nice stickers and printed tiles which are great for moccing purposes. In spite of the unfavourable proportions (4 wide roof on a 6w+ vehicle, as usual) the rallye car has quite a nice look to it - reminds me of a Renault 5 turbo rallye car. Rims are nice, too, as already mentioned. Maybe this is something for the "City vehicles for grown-ups" series.
  15. Thank you! Glad you like them! Thanks a lot! - DBS: The latter is easier, I guess ... In fact I have no clue how to build the (newer) DBS with its streamline headlights. However, there's the original DBS, driven by George Lazenby in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" ... Thanks a lot!
  16. I fully agree with this. Even the entrance doesn't look oversized now. But it's not only the side buildings which make it look much better - you (or whoever built it) also "repaired" the major design flaw of the Town Hall (which is due to the strict baseplate pattern, of course) by adding one stud on each side to widen the facade just so to make it look neat and balanced.
  17. Thank you! Thanks a lot! The red thing is the tip of the built-in anti-helicopter weapon system. Thank you! Thanks a lot! Glad you like them that much, nice to meet another 007 fan! Regarding instructions: There are none, sorry - not so much because I want to keep the models for myself, but because making instructions would take a lot of time which I rather use to build something else. However, if somebody really wants to build a certain car, actually tries to do so and has some special questions - no problem to contact me via Flickr.
  18. Thank you! Glad you like them that much. Thanks a lot! Thanks for the tips, those are some nice oldtimer cars for sure, a Duesenberg is on my list already. However it's rather a challenge to get a distinctive look with those vehicles when built out of Lego (even more in minifig scale). That's why you need an idea how to build the most typical elements of the car first - otherwise there's no need to get started. Long story short: There's absolutely no lack of ideas of what to build - it's a lack of ideas how to build it. And sometimes, sorry to mention it, a lack of proper parts ...
  19. Hi all, I've built some James Bond 007 movie cars recently. Being a big Roger Moore fan I always wanted to build one of his nice Lotus Esprits, however, this proved to be more difficult than I had thought. Anyway, I finally found a way to build the frontend without using curved slopes which don't meet the shape of a Lotus Esprit. Now this is the Lotus S1 from the movie "The Spy Who Loved Me": The model is built in a 1/35 scale which I'm actually preferring for passenger car purposes. A scale of about 1/40 would be better regarding the minifigs, however, it seems to be very difficult to get good-looking sports cars at such a scale. Plus a scale of 1/35 still allows you to fit in a minifig without mutilating it: Anyhow this Lotus Esprit might be among the smallest and lowest you may find in minifig scale. After that I also wanted to have the Lotus Esprit Turbo with the iconic skis from the film "For Your Eyes Only". Of course, the colour doesn't match the original plus I had to take the older mudguards here, but I was able to build a better backend on this one: Now I wanted to see what this setting would look like with the newer mudguards. Fortunately, there's another Lotus Esprit Turbo in "For Your Eyes Only" - a white one which didn't last long due to the most stupid burglary protection Q ever developed. I also found a way to add a proper rear-view mirror on this one: Of course, the most important and most famous version was still missing which was built some days ago. I just had to think about a way to mimic the boat-like understructure which is built upside-down: More pics of the several Bond Esprits on my Flickr. Still, there are some more Bond related car MOCs. Some of you guys may know the Rolls-Royce from the movie "Goldfinger" which was built to go with the Aston Martin DB5 from last year: Being a James Bond fan there'll probably some more 007 MOCs in the future. Thanks for looking!
  20. Yeah, me too! Well, one of them has to cross the pond for that purpose, I guess. But maybe this isn't as unlikely as it seems ... That sounds great, looking forward to your cars!
  21. This is no surprise regarding the fact that the Ecto-1 is far from being minifig scale. However, while I'm not quite satisfied with the exterior (as said some proportions don't match the original building in my opinion) I quite like the interior.
  22. What can I say - she's still my all-time favorite Lego yacht and the significant Lego model of those fantastic commuter yachts of the Roaring Twenties. There's nothing not to love here - it's such an elegant yet technically sophisticated build. I also love the photography very much. Hopefully we'll get more beautiful boats like this in the Town forum.
  23. Glad to see you're already a member. Hopefully there'll be some more yachts in the future!
  24. Thanks Joshua! Well, if there's already a significant model (like Mohican as THE Lego commuter yacht) the challenge is to find different solutions for the details which was fun. Really? Didn't know you're a car builder, too ...
  25. Well, proportionwise minifigs don't seem to be the tallest people around ... Anyhow I just wanted to prove the fact that that there may be cars being lower than figs yet having enough room to fit them in. I see, you just decide case by case what's looking good, regardless of a certain scale. I can see you did well proportionwise - I'm just interested in the real scales of City mocs. In a 1/40 scale a width of 8 cm would mean 3,20 m which sounds like a realistic measure to me though I don't have a proof for that. Anyhow thanks for the explications!
