  1. Thank you for your kind comment, kotaco. I didn't know this, thank you for the hint. Fortunately the seats can easily be turned around.
  2. Thank you very much for your kind comment, bootz. I think it is easier to build 8 wide than 6 wide. You get a much wider range of possibilities with that. My first MOC was a 10w monster. Thank you very much, Mrcool1804. The headlights were an experiment - I am glad you like them this way. Concerning the height I see your point - during the building process this vehicle had every height you can imagine It seemed to me that in general the older rigs are lower than the newer ones, but I will consider this and maybe give it another try. Thank you, lightningtiger, I appreciate your comment very much. Well, a ladder seems rather complicated to me. But indeed I am planning another fire apparatus - hopefully with a different color scheme Thank you very much, legomaniac83. I was surprised to see that TLG seems to put only one minifig even in their larger trucks - at least the ones I saw so far.
  3. My second MOC: an old-fashioned American pumper - no special type. The firefighting theme has quite caught me, it seems. My aim was to fit in 4 minifigs, so the roof is movable - it uses parts of the vehicle from set 7208. In fact the driver can't leave his seat without taking off the steering wheel, but the cabin is at its maximum length, so he is the one to look after the coffee machine . The movable roof uses parts of set 7208. Main inspirations come from Steven Asbury, Lego Fire Museum, Orion Pax (the stowaway seems to be a quotation), ImLost and many other great builders. The shape of the mirrors and the handles on top of the windows are copied from builders I don't remember, I'm afraid. The photos are linked with Flickr, I somehow don't manage to get them bigger here, sorry. [Edit: Thank you for putting in the larger photos, 3001/58] I am looking forward to your feedback!
  4. Very nice! I love everything about it - colors, shape, dimensions. I like the cherry trees, too
  5. Nice! Your van reminds me of an older Renault Espace. They often had two different colours. I appreciate that you build your cars around the people they ought to transport, I find this very difficult. But my favourite is your camper. Its proportions and overall look is awesome.
  6. Sorry, next time I will be quicker with my answers. Thank you for your kind comment. I left one in your thread, too. Thank you very much, LegoSjaak. For a beginner like me it seems to be easier to design something rather big so that the proportions do not depend on a quarter of a small plate Thank you 'lightningtiger'. I appreciate your kind comment! Thank you very much for your kind comment, Charlie. In fact there are some differences to the real one. But people who know it seem to recognize it. Thank you very much, 'dr_spock'! I am glad that you appreciate the use of the panel because I was quite unsure about that. Thank you very much 'ACCURATEin'. People seem to recognize it but rather because of its unique shape which can't be mistaken. I think nearly every German male of my age knows the famous die-cast model of this truck by SIKU.
  7. Very cool! A small town packed with funny stories and exciting people, where really everyone - regardless of his shape - can participate. Indeed it is colourful, but in all senses. I love it!
  8. Very nice. The proportions are awesome. I wish I could design something like that.
  9. "Tachchen" is another word for "Hello" in German. My name is Marcus and I am an AFOL for some months now - after an unusual long break (my last set was a classic space ship ;-). Since I gave all my Lego away in the meantime (except a small race car and two white bricks hidden in a box) I became an admired customer with Bricklink and the TLG shop in the last few months ... I am interested in Technic and City subjects (mainly vehicles). Some days ago I dared to publish my first MOC (an airport fire truck), which was received quite friendly, so I hope I can contribute something every now and then. I am very happy I joined Eurobricks and I am looking forward to seeing many awesome MOCs and interesting subjects here.

Since there seems to be a gap between the two parts - is it maybe a technic connector, like this?
  11. Very cool. Shape, color and functions are awesome. I like it very much
  12. Hey Marty, thanks for your commenting my first MOC, so I came here as you suggested - we newbies need to stick together . It's a nice story, I like it very much. I hope you and your son will have plenty of fun with your legos. At least concerning the number of lego sets you are much luckier than I am. Some months ago when my dark ages came to an end my collection looked like this, and I am not kidding:
  13. V-LF-3D My first MOC: A brick version of the iconic late seventies German airport fire truck made by Faun (chassis) and Metz (coachwork, fire-fighting equipment, water pump etc.). Many boys at that time owned the famous die-cast model made by Siku - like I did, but I gave it away, just like all of the toys (Lego included). So building this MOC was just like a journey into childhood. Maybe this is what it's all about being an AFOL, isn't it? More pics: Flickr
