  1. Thank you, glad you like them! The tiles on the Charger's sides cover the holes caused by hinged structures which allow an unusual angle (at least regarding Lego cars) of the hood. A similar effect is the "tile behind the curved slope" on the Ferrari 308 which not only mimics the air intake but also provides the typical slight wedge shape of the vehicle's sides.
  2. Thanks a lot, that's a great idea! Many thanks Criga88! Yeah, I guess we'll have a lot of fun with those new SC parts.
  3. Thanks a lot LT, nice to get a big red AWESOME from you! The SC hubcaps are too nice not to be used on City scale cars, I guess ... Thank you. The fig should be optimized but I haven't even found a proper Hawaiian shirt ... Clues welcome.
  4. #7 Ferrari 308 GTS (Magnum, P.I. edition) Another Ferrari. In fact this is a 6w+ revamp of an older 7w+ model. The car is quite low and fits well into the "Larger City Scale" range. Stickers and hubcaps are taken from the LaFerrari Speed Champions set. The MOC is 100% Lego. Credit to legoeini for the frontend. Some more pics: Comparison with the Speed Champions LaFerrari: I quite like the Speed Champions, especially technique-wise, but they are much more massive and tall than I had thought - they just don't fit into any known scale. Those large wheels - and probably the mudguards, too - can't be used on minifig scale passenger or even sports cars - anyway they seem to be suitable for trucks or buses, it's always nice to have more possibilities. What's nice about those great new hubcaps is that - with a little customizing - they can be used on smaller wheels, too (like on the 308): Thanks for looking!
  5. Great looking station, those lampposts look really nice, but the whole thing is aesthetically pleasing, as usual.
  6. I don't know if that's possible but you may buy a new minifig with working light via Bricklink - might be easier than trying to find the right battery. See http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?pg=1&itemID=52762&sz=10&searchSort=P They do seem affordable.
  7. Sounds like a great project! However, one tends to think much too large in the beginning - not knowing how much time, effort, and money is needed to build a whole "town" (where 10 buildings or so are already meant as a major city). If you want to use some of the modular buildings within your layout you must keep in mind that they don't go well with the usual town buildings made for kids - neither scale-wise nor in terms of style or complexity. I'd rather try to plan a city center with 3 or maybe 4 buildings (a square or crossroads) just to see which scale you think is the best, how baseplates and roadplates go together (or if you rather omit them and brickbuild your roads which has some advantages etc.). Afterwards you may try to enlarge the layout with as much buildings as you like. Anyhow good luck with your project!
  8. Doesn't look unfinished in my view, plus such a big rig may look a bit bulky. I think you did a great job here (though in my opinion plain 8w trucks are too large for City surroundings, but that's a different story). I especially like the modular design of the trailer. A tip would be to cover the trailer with some tiles to get a smoother look. And these tires would probably look better on the prime mover than the ones you have chosen. Looking forward to more vehicles from you!
  9. As you might know I'm a huge fan of your Art Deco style buildings but this really is a big like. It all looks so smooth and clean but when you take a look at the details you may see how much effort went into this. A perfect MOC.
  10. Many thanks, glad you like it!

    Airport

Very nice! I especially love the lighting (as could have been expected). I also like the idea of having a glass roof to see what's going on inside. But the whole thing is very well done, full of action and very playable. Great job!
  12. Very original build, I love it!
  13. Looks quite nice. However by widening the car for 2 studs I guess it would be necessary to lenghten the wheelbase at least for one stud, too - otherwise the proportions aren't quite correct. Have you tried 7w yet? Maybe this would be a suitable solution here, too. Anyhow the backend looks really cool like this.
  14. Thanks a lot, glad you like it! Many thanks all for commeting and viewing! Glad that so many people like the yacht.
  15. Thank you! The lighting thing will surely be featured in the future when there is more surrounding - I'm just trying to illuminate anything possible since I think this will enhance the look of a Lego town very much. Btw. there's no "WIP topic", but you may find some WIP pics in my Flickr photostream.
  16. Very nice! From your comment on Criga's fire station I assume you might be interested in this garage door technique (first used on my Painted Lady) which allows all possible (even odd) widths: If not, it was worth a try anyway ...
  17. Looks great, I always like the combination of old and modern styles on a building. Looking forward to the further development of this!
  18. Glad you like it that much! Many thanks! Being my first vessel this was learning by doing for me, too - I was glad that there was Joshua's boat to get an impression of proportions and dimensions of this type of yacht. Would be nice to welcome a third commuter yacht in the LEGO Yacht Club. - I'm sorry, it would take some effort to get the underside as presentable as the rest of the vessel (and I'm glad I'm finished with it). But the construction as such is no secret (see above). If there are special questions, please ask.
  19. Nice to hear this from a ship expert. Glad you like her that much! - The door consists of some plates, a technic brick and a tile on top. The whole thing is fixed on the inside of the cabin with a halfstud offset to achieve the protrusion. The white seam is a rubberband http://www.bricklink...gItem.asp?P=x71 Thanks a lot Henrik, you've already commented on her on Flickr as a WIP. Glad to hear that from a "curved-hull expert"!
  20. There are some similarities but this vessel is no steam powered yacht. Usually the commuter yachts of the Twenties and Thirties had twin diesel engines and were very fast. Regarding steam ships: Quite a few of them are already existing in Germany, mainly as passenger ships on lakes and rivers. Thank you! It took about six weeks to build the yacht.
  21. Thanks a lot Are! Glad you like it! Thanks a lot! Many thanks!
  22. This looks great indeed. So much playability in such a small, minifig scale vehicle!
  23. Glad you like it! Thanks a lot for all those nice impressions, they correspond exactly to what I had in mind - something glamourous. Maybe this young lady will be found sooner or later partying on board the yacht. She definitely needs some sunglasses though ...
  24. Thanks a lot! Glad you like it! Many thanks! Again, many thanks all!

    MOC: Candy Store

Very stylish, great details and excellent parts usage. I especially love the plasticity of the facade.
