  1. I think there's a huge difference if you are restoring sets for yourself or for selling.
  2. Maybe we should have a separate Castle CMF poll?
  3. Shipping in Europe in much faster now when all pieces are bestsellers and shipped from the warehouse in Poland. They look even better than I imagined when I ordered them. Are North American orders still shipped from Billund? Medic would be a very suitable role for the blue astronaut. He was the only one I had hands in the right color for.
  4. It's great to see that there are NHL players that like Lego. I also found this fun video on Reddit.
  5. For me it's the complete opposite. I love the Sea Serpent and the M-Tron and Paradisa sets.
  6. Nice! You have a fantastic collection.
  7. Very beautiful builds and diorama! This reminds me of the old Lego catalogs. I like the contrast between the brick built ice and the snow.
  8. About ten years ago when I attended a hockey game in Anaheim, California I noticed that Frederik Andersen the Danish goalie of the Ducks had a Lego inspired goalie mask and today when I am watching Denmark play against Switzerland on TV in the world championships I noticed that the Danish goalie Sebastian Dahm also has a Lego inspired mask. I found some pictures of those goalie masks as well as some others. Sebastian Dahm, EC KAC Frederik Andersen, Anaheim Ducks Frederik Andersen, Toronto Maple Leafs Frederik Andersen, Carolina Hurricanes
  9. I'm sorry that the poll was a bit limited but I had to draw the line somewhere. There are also several visible factions in Classic Castle that also are grouped together as well as the old and new versions of the Black Falcons and Lion Knights/Crusaders.
  10. Yes, sadly Knights Kingdom 1 was underdeveloped. It should've deserved more sets, minifigs and details. If given that it could've been released for many years.
  11. The honest answer is that I noticed it when I had written all the names but thought that very few people will vote for them so I didn't want to empty half the fields ands write everything again. And so far they have only one vote together.
  12. This discussion has come up in some other threads and I find the subject very interesting. What criteria do you have when restoring sets? When I buy old used sets (mainly from the mid 80s to mid 90s) I always try to buy sets that are described to be in good or excellent condition but sometimes for various reasons I buy sets that have missing pieces or have damaged pieces. For example if I buy a Futuron set from the 80s I try to keep the pieces as original as possible when replacing damaged or yellowed pieces. In most cases I have period correct replacements that I can use but sometimes I have to use a newer version of the same piece but I try to avoid that as much as possible. I never mix gray and bluish gray. I accept very little yellowing and scratches. Only if the yellowing is very minor I keep those pieces and I also replace pieces with visible scratches. I never throw away any pieces because of yellowing or scratches even if they are very yellowed or have major scratches or tooth marks, those pieces I use in non visible places in MOCs or inside mountains/hills when building landscapes. When I build MOCs or idea book builds for old themes I don't care if the pieces are new or old, I only try to stick to period correct pieces for official sets. When it comes to stickers (I hate stickers) I use original stickers if they are available and in good condition but that is seldom the case so most of the time I use replica stickers that look the same as the originals. I always want original instructions for my sets. What are your standards when restoring sets?
  13. While I voted for my very favorites (Black Falcons, Lion Knights/Crusaders, Black Knights, Dragon Knights/Masters and Royal Knights), I still like many of the other subthemes very much such as Forestmen, Wolfpack and Dark Forest. In a way I like Fright Knights because some of the sets are great but others are not so great in my opinion. Classic Castle is also cool. I think Knight's Kingdom 1 and 2 are the worst Castle subthemes ever. After those we started getting nice Castle subthemes again and of the newer stuff Kingdoms is what I like the most. The Horse Knights/Snake Knights also look promising.
  14. I supported this beautiful robot as soon as I saw it on Bricklink!
  15. My favorites are the Black Falcons, Lion Knights/Crusaders, Black Knights, Dragon Knights/Masters and the Royal Knights.
  16. Of course a dragon is fantasy. I wasn't clear enough, sorry. I prefer sets with minor fantasy elements such as one or two dragon, ghost or wizard. I only mentioned dragons because I like them and in sets with dragons often the dragon is the only fantasy element.
  17. For me it's not something I can relate to. I have always liked castles, knights and dragons but elves and goblins feels very foreign and too unrealistic for me. I like having some fantasy elements in sets like a single ghost or dragon but not whole subthemes based on fantasy creatures.
  18. If both subthemes are well made play themes I see no problem with that since most kids like Lego between ages 4-12 and can experience several subthemes during their childhood. When I was 11-12 years old and on 6th grade almost everyone was still into Lego but then most of my classmates stopped liking Lego over the summer. Maybe because we had to go to junior high and there the mentality was very different, only I and a couple of friends continued to be interested in Lego. Even if some kids stops liking Lego earlier they still have a solid six year period when they can experience different subthemes.
  19. While I personally have little interest in non human factions I see why people like them. I think that the best solution would bee to alternate between more traditional Castle factions and fantasy factions. Maybe a couple of years with factions like Kingdoms had and then switch to fantasy era like factions for a couple of years. That would also keep everything fresh.
  20. What Space Police contest? How could I have missed that or was it before I joined?
