Lego sets visible in movies and tv series
SpacePolice89 replied to SpacePolice89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Today I watched episode four, season 6 of the Danish tv series Sommerdahl and noticed 60316 Police Station twice. First in the box and later built on a table. -
Help with identifying parts/sets!
SpacePolice89 replied to WhiteFang's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I bought a large box with random Lego bricks from a yard sale last week. I found these four strange miniature 1x2 bricks in that box along all the normal pieces. They are about 1/3 of the size of a normal 1x2 brick. It says "LEGO" on the studs on two of them and "M" on two. I've never seen anything like this before and I've been sorting out a lot of fake bricks from lots that I've bought over the years. Are they real? Are they fake? What are they? -
When it is ready you can display the fort in your new home! It is a huge challenge to move large amounts of Lego. I once created a Lego display window (with trains and pirate ships) for a toy store in my town and it was a huge challenge to transport all the stuff and that was only a small fraction of my collection.

Thanks! But it is not a MOC because it's built with instructions from Lego Idea Book 260. Someone from Lego designed this beautiful fort.

Space Police 1 builds from idea book 260
SpacePolice89 replied to SpacePolice89's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I decided to try and build one of the vehicles from the pictures that has no instructions. This small Futuron vehicle was easy to build by just looking at the picture in the book. I'm very satisfied with the result. It would be nice to know who designed these for the idea book.- 9 replies

Minfigure head fading / Restoration?
SpacePolice89 replied to ChrisXY's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think it is nearly impossible to draw or paint the heads by hand and achieve a good result. Maybe making some sort of stamp or printing device is the best option to restore the heads. -
Minfigure head fading / Restoration?
SpacePolice89 replied to ChrisXY's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You could do this or instead use the heads with the damaged prints for minifigs that are not very visible. I have many similar heads and use them for pedestrians in the background in my Lego city that I'm building. I also have a scene where there are many minifigs watching a boat race, only the ones in the front row have face prints in good condition and the rest in the background have faded faces. The same goes for minifigs inside buildings. -
I found this lot for 25 euros 80 % of the pieces are in good or excellent condition. I'll use the pieces for my own MOCs or when restoring sets. The pieces in the box I'll give to the kids next door because I have no use for them.

I hope that the new Black Pearl will have the following things: 1. Shooting cannons 2. Cloth sails 3. Hull pieces I'm no fan of brick built hulls for larger vessels and prefer the hull pieces that have been previously used for pirate ships. I can't see any reason why they wouldn't include shooting cannons because they are so iconic and still being manufactured and cloth sails are also a very realistic option. My biggest fear is that the set will look like the Endurance which is hideous and looks like a black version of Jabba's Sail Barge.

[Poll] What is Your Favorite Castle Faction/Subtheme?
SpacePolice89 replied to SpacePolice89's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think it would be pretty easy to build a diorama for marketing purposes with available sets even if they would only use it for a year. It's pretty boring to show all sets separately when they could show them together instead. Even the old catalogs had small boxes with the sets listed separately so I don't see the dioramas as being misleading in any way. Other companies do it all the time, car companies often show all available models together and sports gear is often shown on a player even if all individual pieces of equipment are sold separately. -

Today I built the small Blacktron spaceship from 260. I replaced the white pieces with more appropriate colors.- 9 replies

What’s the most you’ve spent on a single piece?
SpacePolice89 replied to Rjbricks's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Probably the orange helmet I wanted for the orange BAM Futuron style torso to make a Futuron astronaut, I paid about ten euros for it. For replacement sails I have paid more than that but that was for a whole set of sails (for my Black Seas Barracuda). -
I like the buildings, the details and the action. You have managed to create a very nice diorama that looks so good that it should be displayed somewhere!

You have built a very beautiful ship! Images must be hosted on external websites like Bricksafe and Flickr and then linked to Eurobricks by clicking the "Other Media" button.

Unpopular Opinions about LEGO
SpacePolice89 replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There are too many mechs across all themes. Mech sets should be reduced by 80%! -
6481 Construction Crew was one of my first Town sets. Seeing that one and so many other sets that were part of my childhood makes me very happy. This whole Town project looks like the pictures from the old catalogs I used to look at for hours (I still do that from time to time). A friend of mine had the harbor sets and they are rally fantastic and we used to play with them a lot. You have really succeeded in placing all the sets perfectly and the same goes for the baseplates and overall layout.

I made some improvements. I added a Motor and Water Sports Cafe that I built in front of the water where the boats are and I also added more baseplates and plants where the railway tracks are. In the future I'll add more buildings.
