Let me present my new faction for the Summer Faction Festival contest. They are called Futuron 2. The faction is a special unit of Futuron that is specialized in exploring remote planets with extreme environments. That is the reason for their different uniforms and colors. The colors of their vehicles are similar to Futuron but instead of trans dark blue canopies theirs are trans green. The photo below is a for illustrative purposes only (to show the color scheme) and not an entry in the contest. I built a spaceship for the same faction for Lego Ideas a couple of years ago and that is the one pictured below.

Nice! You have managed to integrate the pod into the Blacktron MOC perfectly. It always makes me happy to see some fresh ideas for iconic subthemes like Blacktron.

LEGO is considering abandoning physical instructions

Maybe they would sell even more with instructions? -
LEGO is considering abandoning physical instructions
SpacePolice89 replied to danth's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I want my Lego building experience to be 100 % offline. If they would remove physical instruction I would reduce the number of new sets I buy by 60-70%. The main reason I don't buy BDP sets is the lack of instructions. -

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
SpacePolice89 replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Those minifigs look fantastic. When I see them I want to build spaceships and other vehicles for them. -
I guess they wanted something exclusive for the book. I appreciate the original minifigs (+backprinting) in the Renegade but maybe one remake minifig could have been included. I have the older version of the book with the orange Classic Space astronaut.

Yes, and the upcoming minifig book will include a reimagined Blacktron 1 minifig. I've preordered it from Amazon.

Why were some sets region specific?
SpacePolice89 replied to SpacePolice89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
6071 is an amazing set. Someday I'll buy it but it is expensive. Prince of Thieves is one of my favorite movies. When I was a kid we had it on VHS. I've probably watched it a hundred times. Me and my neighbor used to fight with toy swords when playing Robin Hood vs the Sheriff. We even tried to build a tree fort in the back yard. I recently bought the DVD. The music gives me chills. It's such a great movie! -
I agree. It is still a good set but not something for me. I ordered several large flags from PaB for mocs and idea book builds. I wonder why the Space sets (Galaxy Explorer, Blacktron Cruiser and Blacktron Renegade) have original minifigs and the Castle and Pirates sets have reimagined minifigs?

Nice! Those music videos are very well made.

Sorry if my response sounded mean or elitist. That was not my intention. I only wanted to point out that this is the wrong place for fake Lego posts in a way I thought was funny. Other brands regardless of theme belong in the community section.

I considered voting for the new Eldorado Fortress because I own the original and it is one of my favorite sets but didn't vote for the new one because I didn't like the reimagined Imperial Soldiers and the the fort would look a bit out of place next to my other Imperial Soldiers sets while both Blacktron sets fits seamlessly together with my old Blacktron sets. I don't see it as a bad thing that the new Renegade is a bit different from the old one because I plan to display both of them together. I prefer original style minifigs in the Icons sets like all three Icons Space sets have.

Fake Lego . This belongs in the community section and not Lego Pirates because it isn't Lego, it's pirated Pirate Lego.

I voted for: 1. Blacktron Renegade 2. Galaxy Explorer 3. Blacktron Cruiser 4. Lion Knights Castle 5. Barracuda Bay

For me when I grew up the Paradisa sets felt like any other Town sets. I grew up very close to the sea so the beach vibe felt very natural for me and I liked those sets a lot and I still do. I never saw Paradisa as a girls theme. When I build Town dioramas I like to include Paradisa stuff. In the picture below is my then half finished display with a Paradisa beach. The FB group seems very nice but I am not a member of FB so I can't join.

Why were some sets region specific?
SpacePolice89 replied to SpacePolice89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I recently bought some boxes and bags with a lot of interesting pieces at yard sales and thrift stores and now that I've sorted the pieces I now try to find out what sets I can build with them. So far I've managed to build 1624 King's Archer and 1971 Battering ram as well as 1970 Pirates Gun Cart. Finding those sets in Europe is quite difficult so I'm happy that I've managed to build them from the pieces that I've bought. I had to add some minor pieces from my own collection of spare pieces but about 90% of the pieces for the sets were in the lots that I bought. Besides those I managed to build other sets like 6035 Castle Guard and also got a lot of pieces for MOCs. -
Unpopular Opinions about LEGO

Yes, I would like to see one too. It would also be logical since we have had two Blacktron 1 remakes and all the colors are still in production. -
Unpopular Opinions about LEGO
SpacePolice89 replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If a full lineup of Space sets were available in stores I believe they would sell equally good as the SW sets or even better. Considering that SW is older than Classic Space they should focus on 18+ SW sets and instead focus on new creative subthemes for Space. -
When I build MOCs and idea book builds I try to stick to the pre year 2000 colors for aesthetic and storage reasons. I like the old school Lego look with those colors and it is also impossible for me to have a large enough inventory of pieces in all the modern colors.

Help with identifying parts/sets!

Nice! Thanks for the information. I find this very fascinating.
