  1. Two very nice minifigs but the hat with hair from the new Eldorado fortress should've been used instead of the yellow hair piece. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=67043pb01&idColor=2#T=C&C=2
  2. This is a more recent method. Before the plastic granules came pre colored and then the colors were more consistent. Even bricks from that era yellow very individually, some very much and others almost not at all. When there were fewer colors this was the preferred solution and the quality was higher but it was also more expensive. "LEGO used to produce bricks from pre-coloured raw material, however they've switched base+color pellets nowadays. I'm not entirely sure why (probably due to cost saving), but this introduced problems with color consistency, which is still hasn't been resolved until today" https://bricks.stackexchange.com/questions/12940/why-was-lego-reluctant-to-use-additional-colours-for-regular-bricks-in-former-ti
  3. Now we'll travel back in time. Post pictures of your MOCs that are over 20 years old.
  4. My 10021 USS Constellation has been partially exposed to sunlight for over 20 years. I recently moved it to my basement. Some of the gray pieces are somewhat yellowed and others are not yellowed at all. It must be some difference in the material because the pieces are next to each other.
  5. I only buy sets for my personal collection (which is not for sale under any circumstances), so if I buy a Classic Space set from the late 70s and it's missing a piece I might use a modern equivalent if I don't have a period correct one. Of course I prefer period correct pieces but I don't always have them available and sometimes I might replace a piece if it's heavily damaged or yellowed.
  6. Welcome! I was in the same situation for many years also. You made the right decision by joining. I am certain you'll find many interesting discussions here.
  7. I wanted to store and display some of my Town and Trains sets in a visible place but safe from sunlight and my cat. Before this these sets have been stored around my house in different places but now I can display them together.
  8. I think it was a good choice to use the hull pieces. I'm no fan of brick built hulls.
  9. I also included medieval fantasy figures and Vikings has always been listed as a separate theme from Castle. I had to draw the line somewhere. You are wrong about the Orc Warrior. The shield is a type the Orcs started using during the late Middle Ages.
  10. That is a great minifig but I left out the Viking for the same reason I left out the Hun. In Scandinavia the Viking Age is the last part of the Iron Age and is not counted as medieval.
  11. I like these very much. You have my support. It is a big shame that those minifigs are discontinued.
  12. Those are now added. I included the centaur because I have included medieval fantasy minifigs but the Huns existed before the medieval period.
  13. I would definitely say that this is a true Blacktron 1 set. Even if most Blacktron 1 sets have common design features like modularity there are always exceptions. Not all M-Tron sets have magnets, not all SP 1 sets have jail cells etc.
  14. Nice build! Many brick built dragons are too big. This one is the perfect size.
  15. It is now fixed. Sorry again for all the problems, I haven't slept much last night.
  16. My favorites are the Pink Knight and the Vampire Knight. I'm sorry for all the problems. My head was so messed up because an older relative had some health issues. She is now fine and at the hospital.
  17. Now it's fixed. Sorry for the problems and the delay.
  18. I want to try it as well
  19. How an injury turned Wild winger Brandon Duhaime into a Lego Master https://www.sikids.com/spare-time/spare-time-patrick-kaleta-loves-lego
  20. I believe that masks and other stuff will be displayed only after a goalie retires and and both goalies are still active. Maybe if someone at the HHOF is an AFOL it could happen. When you mentioned Braille I remembered that there is a plastic model of the side of the Caribbean Clipper that people can touch at the Lego House and Braille text explaining what it is. It was a big shame that the Bruins traded Brad Marchand. Even as a Ducks fan I have always liked Brad Marchand.
  21. I think there's a huge difference if you are restoring sets for yourself or for selling.
