With these pics, Pohatu looks better. Not as pale, but I still would have preferred his burnt orange of 2015 over the dark tan. I have to say, Pohatu is one of the weakest of the waves (along with Gali, in my opinion). Pretty boring design, weird shoulders, bad Unity mode, and... God, those forearms. He seems to share the same fate as 2015 Pohatu. Can't go wrong with a basic design, but at the same time, he doesn't offer really anything interesting. Overall, not bad but not good either. I have mixed feelings.

2015 Pohatu was better... This one... A poor weapon, weird shoulders... Not a fan. And those colors. Dark tan shells are nice to have, but combined with Pohatu's silver, they just cause the overall figure to look really pale. The brown of the 2015 set would've been much nicer to have.

Yay! Glad to hear Pohatu's coming up soon. He's been the one I'm interested in the most. Not because I think he looks great, but rather because I can't decide if he's great or terrible. Pictures make him seem lackluster, and Pohatu's my favorite Toa, so I hope a review will change my mind. Also cool to see these sets showing up in places. I'll probably go to some stores after I see Star Wars this weekend. Maybe I'll get lucky! (even though I haven't decided who to get first...)

"How to Build a Bionicle Creation" from WikiHow
Kalhiki replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
This answers all of our questions. Puts the final nail in the coffin of "how to make a MoC". See everyone? Clashing textures isn't a problem. It's all about the personality! -
I, for one, welcome our new, golden Tahu. It doesn't really bother me. I've accepted Lego's formula of "main characters are gold!" so it doesn't surprise me that Tahu has followed suit. Textures never really bothered me, so I can't say much. I do feel the torso, Skull armor, and unification piece combined help disperse the more heavily detailed areas. Like, his inner areas are more detailed, and it transitions to a smoother look as you move outward. Proportions are also nice. Maybe not 100% accurate, but they work. And being a fan of thin thighs and bulky calves, I can't really complain about his legs, either. Honestly I think my least favorite bit about him are the weapons. They just look.. Cobbled together. At least they're not overly huge like his 2015 weapons. Didn't like those. So yeah. Overall, I think he looks great. So far my favorite of the 2016 Toa.

Thanks for reminding me! Yeah, I really like this Polybag. That's a nice cloth piece. Seems to be a shoulder cape, though it's poorly executed on Tahu. I'm sure it'll look good on smaller figures like Ekimu. And the Mask of Creation is a... Weird inclusion. Never would've thought a mask of such importance would appear in a polybag. Regardless, I want this. And a bunch more.

Gotta vote Below Average on this one. He's just... Really janky. The bottom half is good. But then the function, arms, and tail assembly is just plonked on the top. Doesn't look too great. Though that's not to say he's bad. The Creatures are all pretty cool and I'll get 'em all, but I will say Ketar isn't my favorite. Also might move the tail to that open axle on his back and just put a gear or something to activate the function. Not a fan of moving his tail to swing his arms.

WELP. Finally got Series 6. Or finished it, rather (already had three). Seems Target was waiting until after Black Friday or somesuch. Regardless. I have them. And they're great. The Munchos just might be my favorite tribes of Mixels. They're all just so goofy. Snax looks like he's on a sugar high, Vaka Waka has a face on his gut, and Berp is just... Terrifying. He scares me. Also love that Vaka Waka's gut has tan teeth. He needs some dental care (good thing we're getting dental Mixels next year!). Yeah. They're great. And now I'm all caught up. Got every figure from every series now. Really need to take a picture of my collection at some point...

Ah well. Yeah, I'll probably just do what Draik said. I just like it when there's an official storage spot. And there seems to be plenty of areas on him to allow for part storage, so that's good.

Well that's... vague. We knew Ekimu was in the wave, and Ekimu is trans blue and gold, so... And Umarak is kinda already a demon monster so there's that. The only thing 'new' speculatively-speaking is trans blue MoCr and Umarak with a big smile. Still, I'll believe it when I see it. As for Titan Ekimu... If anything, he'll be the size of a $15 set. Not a Titan, but potentially bigger than his 2015 form.

I agree with everyone else who says Umarak is amazing. Day one purchase, easily. My only real complaint is the antlers. They look cool, yes, but after several instances of knocking Skull Basher's mask off... Ugh. Uxar may fit with the green, But I still think Ikir will look best. A demon deer man with flaming wings of death? Hell yeah! Also, question: He includes the pieces needed to make a Shadow Trap. Do those extra parts store anywhere on the figure? I know the trap halves make the shoulder armor and the legs are Umarak's toes, but what about the eye and the hinges? I hate when sets include extra parts that don't store anywhere and force you to just lay them by the side...

While I would've preferred Lewa kept his Keetorange, I don't really mind the silver. There's a lot of it, but I can live with. I'd say Lewa is probably one of my favorites of 2016's Toa (which is nice since he was one of my favorite 2015 Toa). We'll see if he remains favorite after more reviews come.

Yeah... Didn't read the preview, but I don't think I'll bother picking this book up. I have Island of Lost Masks and only read up to the part where they enter the Ancient City... Then I quit. Maybe because it was pretty much the animations verbatim, and I already saw all that happened, so why read it? Regardless, I don't think I'll bother with the chapter books. With G2's simpler story, I don't feel a large desire to read the books since I'm sure I'll be able to get the story through some other medium (even though Revenge of the Skull Spiders seems to be a unique side story, but whatever).

That's sweet. Though I imagine his shoulders will end up being a little empty if you make the Shadow Trap. At least there's now one for Melum, I guess. Can't wait for the reviews!

Where'd the Rumble Blade pic come from? Also, Sparkz has wings! Never noticed before. I'm loving that figure even more now.

I'm gonna go ahead and... Put this quote in my signature to celebrate the holidays...

Using Knock-off Hero Factory torso armor, I see ;) Anywho, very nice design. Love how stout and solid he is. Especially in the torso. Just looks so strong and filled in so nicely.
-
Now that's cool. How nice of them to include a stand. I kinda like Akida... Don't care for the guns, but the figure looks properly fishy.

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Kalhiki replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Hate to break the Falls discussion, but I just finished Paranoia Agent. Wow. All I can say is wow. This whole show was incredible (though I will say the more filler-ish episodes near the end were kinda strange). It's really a show that tells you to face reality. And being someone who hates facing reality, it really helped me. That last episode was powerful. I highly recommend it. -
Onua's looking pretty cool! But I still don't like how Terak's hands sit on Onua's shoulder armor... They're just... Hanging out there. Which is my biggest problem with the Unity modes. I wish they did more than just having the Creature ride on the Toa's back and eat the Toa's head. Be nice if some stuff shifted around a bit.

I'm still on the fence. Luckily, I don't mind all the gold, so that doesn't hurt him for me. I can't really pick out bothers me about him... But something feels off... Also just read BZP's review of Terak. I'm positive the Creatures are going to be the highlight of this wave.

Combined mode doesn't look too bad, but your other comments, DV, don't give me high hopes for the individual figure...

I just can't decide how I feel about the new sets. I may end up combining the 2015 and '16 Toa into something I like (which is something I've never done before). Maybe even re-work the Unity modes. I'll see how I feel about them when I have 'em in-hand. That's really all I can do at this point.

MMvSG is 30 US dollars. So I'd image Kopaka and Melum would be the same price where you are.

Could be Umarak uses more smaller parts. Remember LOSS? He had the most pieces out of all the sets in Wave 1, yet he was only $15. As for Melum, I'm sure he'd be a good $10 set on his own. Looking at the way the gears are positioned, I'm definitely agreeing that he bear hugs. I think the similarity to Terak is just throwing people off.
