  1. I don't think I'll be getting all the sets in one go. I'll definitely get Umarak, Kopaka, and a Toa and Creature as my first "introductory" purchase. Then proceed getting Toa/Creature combos till I finish the collection. But I don't know which Toa and Creature to get first... Pohatu has always been my favorite Toa, but I'm not really a fan of his 2016 version, and Ketar is easily my least favorite Creature. Maybe Tahu because it's Tahu? I'll have to think about it...
  2. At least I'm not the only one experiencing poor distribution. I haven't found Series 6 anywhere. I saw them... Maybe once? Can't remember if it was at retail or at the Lego Store. I got one from each tribe, but I haven't seen them anywhere since then...
  3. I don't recall having any issues, myself. It's been a while, so I can't give any confirmation. Honestly, I think the ratchet system could work so long as it's soft. Something along the lines of the IFB Beast jaws. Easy to move, but holds in place.
  4. I am loving that Hover Horse. Acquiring at least one will definitely be a priority for my collection.
  5. So... Is the new waist piece the closest thing we've gotten to a male-male bone? Just occurred to me that it has two ball joints and seems to be the same length as a regular 5m bone. Can't really attach armor to it very well, but I can see it being useful for things other than a waist.
  6. So... I know this topic is to post about shows you like, but... I just recently finished the anime School Days. Dear Lord, where to begin... I watched it after hearing a lot about it, and curiosity got the better of me. I'm not going to say the show was bad, but the main character is the most horrible person. I felt ill after watching it. So if you feel super brave, go for it. Otherwise, I advise staying away. Also took the time to watch the Animator Expo videos. Most of them were fantastic with only a handful I didn't really care for. If you get the chance to watch 'em, I'd say go for it. Currently I'm starting to watch Paranoia Agent. After the first episode, I'm already hooked. But it's Satoshi Kon's work, so that's expected (even though I've only watched one of his other works, that being Paprika, but I've heard great things). Can't wait to see how everything goes down!
  7. Yeah, after looking at it more, I realize that. Plus, Terak's head and Onua's gold mask are both gold with Tr. Purple blend, so there shouldn't be any rendering issues with the crystal add-on if they were purple. Chances are it's going to be clear... :/
  8. Oh, yes, you're right. (I should look at all the pictures next time) Regardless, I'm still holding out hope that it's a rendering error. I know people said it'd be a nice callback to Korgot's silver shoulder pads, but I think it'd be strange if all the Toa had blended crystals in their primary Trans Color and Onua got gray.
  9. Still looks purple to me... Not as vibrant as the other Tr. Purple, but there's definitely purple there. Seems like a rendering issue. Also, it occurred to me that the Creature heads are going to be pretty big. They need to accommodate a mask under there, after all.
  10. Well would'ja look at that. Opinion hasn't really changed since the last batch of watermarked pics came out. They're all pretty cool, but they also have their faults. Not going to go in depth, but a few thoughts: Oh man, new eyestalk. Love the shorter ones so much. Better than having a weird thing sticking out the back of their head. Guess this explains why there aren't any green eyes: none were made. There's something strange with the functions on the creatures. I really see no gear pieces, but there's gotta be a mechanism of some kind. Looks like rotating Ketar's tail swings the arms, but I'm baffled as to how. I'm very intrigued. The Toa have faults, but overall pretty sweet. Gotta say Lewa's my favorite. Seems the most solid. But those arms look way to short. Wonder if something can be done there... Combined forms look great. I almost feel any faults with the Toa are made up by the Unity Modes. Even Umarak's combination with the Creatures looks neat. Evil, undead deer monster with flaming wings? Count me in.
  11. Ooh shoot, official pics! Not too shabby, but not at the top of my want list. Human heads are still a little weird to me, but they don't look terrible. Poe's is pretty great with all the colors and clear visor. Pretty sweet. And oh my gosh yes! I'm all over the new back armor. Glorious. I really hope we see more of that. Back and shoulder covering with an opening for the gear function? Brilliant. And all those recolors. Wish I was more of a MoCist, because I'd buy these sets just for parts.
  12. Such pieces have been around on Constraction sets for a while, IIRC. Regardless, I do enjoy them for giving us some extra details. But I'd really like to see System bricks in Constraction. Much like what was done on some of the SW Constraction sets except maybe to a slightly higher degree. If done correctly, I think it'd look pretty cool.
  13. I like the Technic for the torsos. Has that sort of mechanical-underneath-with-smoother-armor-covering look that I've been wanting to see. Plus, it looks much less gappy than basic CCBS torso builds we've always had. I just find the Technic constructions on some of the arms to be questionable. But I do appreciate that we're getting something more different than "snap two bones together, add shells" formula for limbs. Speaking of Technic and limbs, does anyone have any ideas what that little bit of technic is on Onua's lower left leg? I can't for the life of me figure out what it's for.
  14. While I haven't seen Star, I will highly recommend OtGW. Since it's only 5 episodes, it's a quick watch and easy to knock out in an evening (or whenever you want to watch stuff). Animation, music, and story are all very well done. On the Gravity Falls topic, I don't really mind it's ending. Story's been told, let's not drag it out. Much like OtGW, I enjoy shows that have a clear beginning and end and tell a complete story. Any more would just be unnecessary.
  15. Found 'em. And as expected, once larger, clearer images came out, the sets would start to grow on me. They really look pretty good. I'm not going to analyze them to death, but there is one thing: Akida. It's been bothering me for some time, but I just can't figure out what's going on with the body. I feel like there's some function to make the guns fire in tandem, but I don't see any gears or anything connected to the backs of them. Plus, there seems to be wheels (the same parts from the back of Ekimu's hammer), that would seem like you'd turn to activate something... I'm very curious. Oh, and on the Mask of Control. I'm positive there is nothing carved into the mask aside from the runes on the forehead ridge, cheeks, and chin. No Okoto or Mata Nui symbol on there. I will admit there is some strange blur, but it isn't well defined like the rest of the details making me believe it's just some trick of the lighting. Then again these are still confidential photos, so I'm not sure how far along in the design stage they are. So at least for these images, there's nothing on the MoCo.
  16. That's actually what I've been thinking. Like, a crystalline form of elemental power. Makes sense and also would explain how the heck they can make a mask out of something like fire or water.
  17. Noticed that the gold masks next year have trans blend... But the trans-blended gold masks from the Skull villains were power-drained versions...? So, now we have trans blend indicating power drained and... Whatever the 2016 masks are supposed to represent. Crystal power? I just found that interesting. I must say, though, that the spikey backs of the masks look better with that trans blend since it reflects the whole crystal aesthetic this year. Still wondering what the significance of the crystals are? Probably just Quaza some new elemental power source.
  18. It may look good, but I just feel it detracts from the unity thing. Looking at combined Tahu, it looks like he's wearing one mask. Like, Ikir and Tahu actually fused completely together, masks included, to make a new dude. Having the masks different colors, it just won't have the same illusion to me and look more like the creatures are eating the Toa's heads... But who knows. On the flip side, it may be a nice parallel to the regularly colored masks having a silver blend. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
  19. As much as I'd like a big figure, I don't know if I'd want Umarak to be Grievous tall. If he's A) more heavily armored or B) a bit taller than the tallest Toa, I think I'll be happy.
  20. Yeah, I may have to get some extra trap halves to make my own. Now what legs would work nicely for ice... Oh yes, that would be wonderful. I can't really think what other parts would work for ice. And while on the subject, I really hope these traps have a similar function like the Raptors from the Jurassic World sets. The Raptors' jaws would click open and shut, so I hope the Traps can do the same. Would be a real bummer if they couldn't... Y'know... Snap shut. Is it wrong that I like the Traps more than the Toa...?
  21. Aw man... Just realized Kopaka/Melum doesn't come with a bear trap... So we got only five of those little guys? Unless you want to count Umarak's shoulder pads, but I don't. Kinda sad since they're super cool. But then I'd have a bunch of bear traps I wouldn't know what to do with... Like all my Skull Spiders, so I guess I won't complain.
  22. Wow, these sets keep looking better and better. Especially the horse. The horse itself I still don't think looks too great, but the Trike more than makes up for it. That thing looks sweet. And the fact it transforms into a horse is even better. Gotta love 2-in-1 sets.
  23. I like it too. I really like the shapes and curves of it. The only thing I don't particularly like about it are its 'cheeks.' They just look kinda chimpmunk-y. After giving the sets another look, they don't look too bad. Can't say for sure how they compare to the 2015 versions, though. There're some neat things going on and some... Not so neat things. Looking at you, Pohatu.
  24. My mixed feelings remain... Overall, there're some neat things going on, but there're also some things that I don't really care for... Maybe when we get final images that aren't obstructed by a watermark I'll be able to make a final verdict.
  25. Oh my... I have very little interest in this line, but those dragons are adorable. I maaaaaaay pick up the blue one. The cuteness is drawing me in... Along with those wings. Very nice. Only glanced at the pics and didn't study them much, but they seem similar to the Vikings dragon wings, so that's cool.
