Wow. What a turnaround. I figured official pics would look better than the prelims. -The two smallest sets are very nice and great army builders. Cheap price + generic soldiers? Brilliant. -Can't wait to see what the Robo Horse's bike mode looks like. The horse is a bit spindly, so I'm not sure as-is. But if the transformation feature's cool, I might pick it up. -The Lava smasher is genius. It seems not only does it smash, but when the clubs hit the ground, they pull back. -Love the mini Horse hoverbikes. They're cute. And the Blade cruiser looks very nice. Very beefy and well armored. -Merlock's library is disappointing. How is that a library? Luckily that Lava golem is sweet. Very sinister. -Finally, the king's mech is a thing of beauty. Do my eyes deceive me or does it have knees? Very few Mechs have knees. And That orange Hero Factory visor makes me very happy. I'm sure Hero Factory Mocists will be pleased to see that. Overall, I'm very excited. Even the promotional sets look great. However, this is really going to hurt my wallet...

I laughed harder than I should have at this. Speaking of Makuta and plans, I wonder what G2 Makuta's (or the MoUP, if that's the real villain here) plan is this time around. I don't believe we've ever learned that, have we? All we know is that he's been terrorizing the island and wanting masks of power, right? Surely that can't be his only goal. Poor guy. All this because no one liked his masks...

So I was thinking. A Nexo Knights chess set would be glorious. And a good army builder. Was very disappointed by the Pirates on, and I think Nexo Knights would work very well for chess. Knights will always fit in with chess pieces.

Man. I wish we got that instead... So much more imposing and massive than the set. Truly lives up to the description of being "the last guardian."

"Lava Ultron" is horrifying. I don't care if Lego calls these dudes Lava Monsters, they're straight up demons summoned by Jestro using the Nercronomicon. This is a good thing. I'm really excited for the villains of this series. Especially Sparkz. Buildable lava golem!

I'm sold. Loving those minifigs. Does Axl have an armless minifig torso? Is that the first time Lego gave us one of those? I know you can pull the arms off, but I don't recall them ever giving us an armless torso on purpose. Very cool. So much new info. So much I want to say...

Don't remind me. I miss HF's open universe. Anywho... G2's headcanon possibilities... I'm mixed. While G1 had a well-defined story and plot, it also had tons of different species and any number of lesser islands, so it was fairly easy to squeeze your own story into the mix. And then Spherus Magna gives you a whole planet to work with, so there's that. G2... Sometimes I feel it's open enough, and other times I feel it's a bit restricted. I mean, there's really only the island to work with (so far), so setting's kinda limited. However, with the revelation that Okoto's a pretty big place and the introduction of characters like the Skull Creatures and Umarak, there's clearly enough space to work with as well as other species on the island outside of the Protector race. The only thing I can think of is if a fan created a Toa character because at this point we don't know if the current Toa are the only members of the species. But of course, it's not too hard to create a backstory to fit such a character into the official story. I don't know... Things are left vague, which can mean things could go either way. Like, there haven't been many sapient species revealed. Does that mean there's not that many that exist? No. Can it appear that way? Yeah, sure.

G1 Bionicle: Favorites: Mask: Definitely Lhikan's Hau. Loved the new look of a familiar mask. Especially its concave mouth area. And the Kraahkan. Helmet (because I differentiate Glatorian and Matoran Universe headwear): Malum. I don't know... Just looked scary. Least Favorites: Mask: Kaukau Nuva. D'ya need a reason? Helmet: Skrall. Just... Don't like elongated back end... G2: Favorite Mask: Protector. Looks cute. Least Favorite. The Bull Skull Mask. Compared to the other skull masks, it just doesn't look very threatening. Hero Factory: Fav helm: Corroder. I love that guy. Least Fav: Rotor. That huge mouth and the lack of eyes is just... Ugh.

FLCL was and always will be the best acid trip. And will always rank as one of my favorites. And yes. Suuuuuuuper excited for the BBB finale. According to Funimation's Twitter, it should be here sometime this week. But I've been watching it dubbed. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long for that to be released. Also excited to this. I love how old-school it looks while still being cleanly animated. Can't wait for some Lupin action! -
Oh my. This is the greatest, goofiest thing I've seen. Such a dapper ol' gent'. I like what you did with the toes. Simple but effective, using the Bohrok eyes on the Beast foot. And that head. Mustache, monocle, top hat... Perfection.

I've always liked '15 Onua and seeing him with more of a slender, generic build is a step down in my eyes. And that chest armor being just one giant hunk of gold doesn't help either. Which is really my biggest issue with the one-piece torso armor. You don't get the nice layering that was there with a separate chest piece.

With the Netflix show on the horizon, I wonder what'll become of the online animations? I really enjoy them, and I'd hate to see 'em go. But having two "shows" most likely telling the same story might be little much.

Love the little Mask of Creation carving there. The whole picture is great, too. Though that may be my love for Jungle scenery.

Don't really see how a painted appearance would mean it's not the animation style. Looks pretty CGI to me, and there's a lot that can be done with CGI in terms of shading and coloring to pull off a "painted" look. Biggest example I can think of is the upcoming video game Transformers: Devastation. It's not "painted" per-say, but instead invokes a cell-shaded appearance. So much so, that upon seeing initial screenshots, I thought it was artwork instead of the actual in-game models.

Wuzzo has a chainsaw face, so you should get him anyway. But yeah. King Nixel is one of the coolest little dudes I've gotten in a while. Love him. I've also formed a strange attachment to Snax. Didn't think I'd like him so much, but his sugar-high character art and the set's bulbous cheeks are hilarious. And the purple is a plus, too!

Not me... :/ I mean, it's not bad. It looks nice... I was just wishing for something other than CGI replicas of the sets. On the plus side, coloring is beautiful and the backgrounds are gorgeous. So there's that.

It's got treads, actually. ;) And guns. So yeah. Tank Castle is pretty accurate. That's probably the set I'm most excited for. Even better that it contains that orange Bull Knight.

As if I needed another reason to get Netflix. I'm intrigued. I want them to keep the animation art style. 2D like we have currently would be great, though I still think it'd be pretty neat if they transitioned that style into 3D. That'd look pretty cool if you ask me.

The Creatures will be my Priority as well as Umarak. The Toa I can hold off on. Darn Kopaka... Guess I have to get him if I want Melum.

T'would be cool if they made it CGI but in the Animation art style. I just don't want them to drop the current style. It's simple but effective, and that's why I love it.

Gotta say Invasion from Below. The artwork at the top of the bag way great. I also really like the 2015 Bionicle box art just due to the variety of colors and how bright they are.
