Wow. That Scissor Gun is impressive. Almost reminds me of some of the over-the-top weapons seen in anime. Actually, the whole model is pretty nice looking. Almost makes me want to get the rest of the figures.

Finally got around to watching TJTO. Gotta say, I was pretty impressed. I had fairly low expectations, though, so maybe that helped. The art style alone made it worth watching. Some of the backgrounds were wonderful, especially that one shot of the Water region before Gali dives in the water and the Jungle region temple. They just made the place look so big and awe-inspiring. I loved it, and it brought me back to the days of the beautiful MNOG scenery (MNOG artwork still outranks, though). Also loved how the walls and floor of the maze glowed green when the characters were near. That was a neat little detail. Voice work was passable. Can't complain with the actors, but the acting was a bit jarring at times. Some lines could have had better delivery, but it wasn't anything terrible. Even Umarak's higher-than-expected pitched voice worked fairly well. Characterization was pretty good too. Not much development, but they clearly had distinct personalities. They nailed Lewa's high energy, and I loved Pohatu's stubbornness to Unite (nice continuity there too, with his hate for the Skull Scorpios). And it was nice to see that little aspect become a plot point in the end and not just there because. Onua was also pretty fun. Love how he just decides to run through the cave walls and later knocks over an entire tree. Other things: Umarak was great. Especially his powers. That fight with Lewa was great with him teleporting here and there and his ability to just spawn Shadow Traps. Nice to see the Traps had some sentience as well. They definitely displayed some fear, and the Water Trap knocking the other one off the cliff made me chuckle.

They wouldn't necessarily need to imitate the proportions of Minifigs considering the Chima Constraction figs didn't. But yeah, there really isn't much variety in designs like there was in Chima. Maybe they could release figures like the Ultimates where a lot of the variety comes in with the weapons? The mech idea is pretty neat, too. Then we could have Ultimate Ultimates. :P

No wonder I didn't remember. That's hardly anything substantial. Which means we need more. More trans red please.

Again? When was it used before? Sorry, I can't remember. But I agree. Trans red would be most welcome.

I'm not even going to try and rate the shows I'm watching. But Erased and Showa Genroku definitely take top spots. I will say, I thoroughly enjoyed this week's episode of Bubuki Buranki. I laughed so hard at the American stereotype whose name escapes me. Purely from an enjoyment standpoint, this show definitely takes a position near the top. I'm so happy to hear it'll have 20-some episodes. EDIT: Forgot to mention the soundtrack. Really hope it gets released in the future. It's got some really catchy tunes. -
Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

Overall... Meh. The Disney art style doesn't really transition well into Minifigs if you ask me. Some of them are good, others are a pass. Really the biggest draw is the novelty of having Disney Minifigs. That being said, I'll definitely get Mickey and Donald. Hopefully there'll be a second wave with Goofy. I'll also probably get Stitch because I love the movie. And Maleficent because it's Maleficent (and her involvement in Kingdom Hearts). Otherwise, I'll need to think about the rest.- 4,155 replies

Glad to hear you enjoyed both! I may have said it before, but Showa Genroku is definitely one of my favorites this season. Like you said, it's different. A welcome breath of fresh air. And this article on anime news network made me realize that not only are the characters and story great, but the visuals are also impressive (I picked up on some while watching, but there were a few I didn't catch). Camera angles and even the music really set up the scene and mood. They also mentioned some of the director's other works in that article as well. I'm going to have to look those up and watch them sometime. -
So I'm not the only one who noticed Umarak's horrible ankle design. Yeesh. That kinda kills it for me (yes, I'm picky).

I doubt the story team really cares about scientific backing. :P Also, Ryder Windham said that it would take weeks to travel across the island, so it's pretty big. Plus it was never said how long it took the Toa to travel. I'm sure a lot of the travel time was cut for convenience.

Huh. Check it out, another landmass. Hopefully that's not just artistic license. Really broadens to scope of world. Also, Okoto is more of a continent that an island. That's a pretty big place.

Just watched it. I must say, seeing video of the sets and getting different angles has re-kindled some faith in these. They don't look too terrible. I dare say I may end up picking a few of these up. Though, I'll probably wait a while after they're released and see if I can get 'em on clearance. Still not a top priority.

I want a full size version of that poster to hang on my wall next to my other two posters. Seriously. That looks incredible.

Well if Hayao Miyazaki said so, I guess it must be true!

Nice! I love how you made him as if he were an actual set with not really any complex techniques (and even using the foot back armor). Works really well! Not sure how I feel about the trans orange, though... But it's a good substitute since I don't believe those shells or bones come in red. On a side note: Man, I really should get some Fusion Warriors. That chest plate is delicious. -

Oh, I have a list. I was at work at the time and couldn't access it. And I'm sure you know, but Showa Genroku is currently airing. You're binge watching will eventually catch up to as it airs. Also, first episode was a twofer. 40-some minutes. I also feel I should warn you that the show probably isn't for everyone. But if you enjoy more laid-back anime and realistic characters and interactions and drama, then you should enjoy it. I'd really like to hear your opinion! Also, other shows I'm watching are Phantom Myriad Colors World (or whatever). I'm just sorta... Watching it. Taking it at face-value. Yeah, fanservice. Yeah, near-non-existent plot. But I don't really care. I've accepted it and am enjoying it as it is. Art, music, and animation are aces, though. And Konosuba. Which is actually pretty entertaining once you get past the mediocre art/animation. Pretty sure that covers everything I'm watching this season. Read through some of your list... Divine Gate... Ergh. Biggest disappointment. Stuck around through episode... 6 I think? Then I dropped it. Which is sad because I liked the premise and art style (and that OP, man!), but the show went absolutely nowhere. I just... Argh! -

I'm watching way too much. :P ERASED is fantastic. I'll agree with you there. I was going to watch Ajin, but never got around to it. Isn't it CGI? Speaking of CGI, I'm also watching Bubuki Buranki, which is quite enjoyable. Never was much of a fan of CGI in anime, but it's really well done here. Story's nothing to write home about (yet? Let's hope so), but the action is fun to watch. Other shows include: - Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju (spelling might be wrong? Very mellow show, but oh-so good. One of my favorites this season. Character building is tops. Definitely a hidden gem of this season. Doesn't seem to be talked about a lot.) - Dimension W (okay-ish. They seem to be building a lot of story threads, but none seem to go anywhere. I enjoy it, regardless.) - Continuing adventures in Italy with Lupin III - Continuing adventures in hilarity with Osomatsu-san - Season 2 of both Snow White with the Red Hair and Assassination Classroom - Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash - Dagashi Kashi - Pandora in the Crimson Shell (I... don't even know...) There might be more... I can't keep track of them all... -
Ding ding! We have a winner! Overall, a fun movie. I'd recommend it, but probably not before watching the series, just so you know the premise and the characters. (Even though I'm not sure where the movie fits within the show's timeline...) You're go, Dr.Cogg!

Wow! This is great! I absolutely love how you gave him the ROTF tread-whips but also gave him legs. A very nice combo. And the transformation is nice too. Clean and simple but very effective.

Here's another image (posting a link because it's big). http://yuq.kickasstorrents.video/users/29/370/tly0E1PshA.png Two of the semi-main characters. I'm deliberately trying not to post an image of the main character because that'd give it away (though this probably will too for those familiar).

Too difficult my friends? Shall I perhaps give a hint?

Mmmm... Not sure about the modulation... Just sounds off and is kinda distracting.

This is incredible. Truly a work of art and something you don't see everyday when it comes to Lego MoCs.

I would totally watch such a movie. This, not so much. (though I got a good chuckle) Both are wrong, of course.
