Very cool, indeed. Really like the Takadox heads on the thighs. Nice shaping! One thing I'm not sure about are the arms. They look a little out of place alongside the primarily CCBS build of the rest of the model. I feel like if you just used small CCBS bones, it'd be more effective. Otherwise I really like it. A big, chunky, mechanical T-Rex.

I gots me a Lewa in the mail today. And I gotta say, he's probably my favorite out of the 2016 Toa I have (Tahu, Kopaka, and Pohatu + their Creatures). The legs are a lot better in person. Knobbly knees don't look to bad. Overall, he's pretty cool. But those gosh dang arms, man. Way too awkwardly short. That plus the weird shoulder setup just... No. And the weapons aren't that spectacular, either. So that's the only downside. Unity Mode is also pretty snazzy, and probably my favorite out of them all. I mean, sure. It's pretty similar to Tahu's, but I just feel like Lewa's does more. Maybe I just like the green wings. Looks very... Energy-filled. Though Lewa's weapons always seem to have a habit of banging into them (another knock against the weapons, in my book). So yeah, I'd recommend. Don't know if I'll spring on the others... Even though I'm already 2/3 of the way through the collection...

"Nick Knights" I love it.

Speaking of weapons, am I the only one who'd love to see the Toa with their G1 weapons again? Did a good job in 2015, but I just want to see Gali with hooks one more time. I always thought those were a weird choice for weapons, but I grew quite fond of them.

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Kalhiki replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Yeah, been meaning to do a short recap. Too lazy to give reviews of all the shows I watched last season, but here are a few: And now off to the Spring 2016 season! I'll post more thoughts when it's well underway, and I've settled in to all I'm watching. I will say, though, that of all the shows this season that I've seen, Space Patrol Luluco is my favorite. Hiroyuki Imaishi is a treasure. -
This is cute. I absolutely love the shapes. Especially in the legs. I love the whole footless column-leg thing she has going on there. And yes. That sword. That sword is pretty sweet.
-
Wow. I love how... Heavy it looks. Very much a walking suit of armor. And my goodness. That face is one of the most creative things I've seen. Very cool. By the way, what did you use for the mohawk? I don't recognize the piece...

What everyone else said. Though I will admit, some of the parts look pretty neat. Still want to get my hands on that torso piece. Armpit balljoints seems like a neat and useful idea.
-
So just because the middle section looks a bit like the movie appearance makes the whole thing movie accurate? :P Sorry, I just can't get behind that. I see the whole piece as the mask. I can't just ignore the obvious cone-head and long chin.
-
I have my doubts we'll see a Takanuva. Considering the upcoming Toa-sized Ekimu, it seems like he's taking the position of "7th Toa." Even if it's just for a bit.

Well. I went to the Lego Store. I was going to get Lewa and Uxar, but the Bionicle selection was minimal and was only able to nab Uxar. PoS was on sale for five bucks, so I got two of him for parts. In addition, 2016 Pohatu and Ketar were both $2 off. So this lack of stock and sets already on sale... Yep! Came with Takutanuva: a 2-pack of Takanuva and Makuta from '03 that formed the combi model. As for the mask, I prefer the original. Despite it being labeled as "movie version" it still looks hardly anything like its movie appearance. Shame, since I liked the movie Kraahkan.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Kalhiki replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Wow. These are some of the best iterations of the characters I've ever seen. Even better that they're Lego! I don't normally collect Licensed themes, but assuming they'll be present in the sets, these villains are an instant selling point. I mean, Killer Croc has a flippin' crocodile head! This is the best thing! Also, really hope we get that Clayface. Could be like the Metalbeard set: one big, brick-built figure and something small to go with it. Considering it's Clayface, I imagine what we see here won't be his only appearance. Consider me excited! -
... *sigh* I don't know why I come in this topic anymore. All I ever see is people arguing...

Caution, personal opinion ahead: I really hope they don't decide to keep reviving Bionicle after this. While I can't speak for the theme's overall success, I can say that, to me, G2 has been pretty lackluster. And once it's done, I hope Bionicle stays dead... Like, forever. I just don't want it to keep being brought back and renewed with a new story for years to come. Heck, for that matter, I don't want to see continuations of current stories either. I want Bionicle to have an honorable death. And leave it at that. While I can't say I'm thoroughly enjoying G2, I can say that its short, sweet, to-the-point, three year arc is a good enough send-off for the line as the whole. After this, I have no idea on the future of Constraction. The SW figures seem uber-popular, but I definitely don't want Constraction to become a supplement for other themes. After 2017, I'm really hoping for something new, fun, and fresh.

No thanks! Leave some surprises for the rest of us! But yes, some pages would be nice. :)

Let me stop you right there. Nowhere was it confirmed that it'll only have one wave next year. That was all speculation over in the story topic.

There are many Lego builds I can consider beautiful, but these outrank all of those. Truly magnificent.
-
Does that make TLG the doomsayers? 'Cuz they only planned G2 to be three years anyway. :P
-
Sure... I'll believe it when I see it.

Oh, this is nice! That bow is incredible, and I love that torso construction. However, while it's very effective, I can't help but find it a bit disturbing that she has her face on her chest and Matau's face on her rear. Just... Faces. But like I said, it's very effective and the shaping those pieces give is superb. I also like the use of the Minifig Hero Core. Nice idea to go for a smaller version.

Man, I've been considering getting Lewa due to his portrayal in JtO. But then I look at set pictures and the other Toa I own and realize that I don't really like the 2016 Toa :P Might still get him eventually. I think he's one of the better looking. Also, you mentioned Shadow Traps which reminded me: In JtO there were Ice Shadow Traps. And they seem pretty easy to make considering (from what I recall) they use pieces found in the Kopaka/Melum set. If I'm not mistaken, the front legs used Melum's claws, and the back legs used the small horns on Kopaka's sword. Don't remember how they were attached to the main body. Might have been Exo Force robot arms, which (aside from the main trap construction) would be the only pieces not in Kopaka/Melum... Either way, it seems really easy to make. I might give building one a go.

Toa Nuva 2016, my big and small modifications
Kalhiki replied to PrimoUltimo's topic in LEGO Action Figures
These are nice. Much cleaner than the actual sets. Really like the orange swirls on Gali's thighs. Nice touch there. -
42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator
Kalhiki replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Woah. Didn't realize this set had its own topic. Anywho, I'll be limiting my spending this year to justify buying this. BWEs are my favorite piece of heavy machinery, so having a properly large Lego one is amazing. And everything I've seen of the model makes me excited. I love it. Only problem... Where will I put it?
