I have a spreadsheet with all my parts cataloged and its a work in progress. So far I have it sorted by color and I have categories for plates, slopes, bricks, and tiles.

I agree completely, I feel better using bricklink just because it's specifically Lego. It was built for us by us (AFOLs). Off topic, I live down the street from the main Medford part of Tufts...small world.

Great work, probably my favorite entry so far. I'm in love with the walkway.

1.) Get the Pet shop before it's gone 2.) Get at least one Horizon Express 3.) Finish sorting and inventorying 4.) Find the Taj for less than 700 bucks for my girlfriend.....

[MOC] Jurassic Park vehicles - Jeep & Tour vehicle
tomdobs55 replied to ramjarjamjar's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Looks great, as soon as I saw the topic title I pictured exactly what I saw in your mocs. Great work, spot on. -
Been watching this topic for a bit, these mocs look great! I love the info kiosk, very creative use of the levers on that one. The log flume is fantastic...and the go carts...and the balloon stall...and...well you get the picture. It's all fantastic! Are you planning on brick building it too?

+1 for boshuda21 Boxes worked out great! -
I hear ya, I have one Technic set. It took me forever to build and felt like work, unlike the Fire Brigade I just built. All the gears and ratios and whatnot just made my brain hurt. That being said I love seeing some of the incredible mocs on here.

Awesome! I love the minecart all rusted.

The planes are just too Damn big. I know they're not made for adults but they just don't fit with anything from what I can see

10220 VW Camper Van - Sort pieces before building?
tomdobs55 replied to grovyggg's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sorting is completely worth it with the huge sets like this. Makes the build that much faster -
I sort everything according to the official bricklink catalog and have everything mixed as far as old and new parts are concerned. I haven't gotten around to sorting my minifig parts yet, but I'll base it on the catalog and just have a spot on my spreadsheet for each type. As far as storing, they'll probably all be lumped into a single compartment, one for heads, for legs, and torsos.

STAMPs (Stickers Across Multiple Pieces)
tomdobs55 replied to SheepEater's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The original Sopwith Camel is still killing me, I keep finding those bricks and plates in my collection and it pains me to see those cracking stickers still on there. Too bad really because it looked fantastic with the stickers and since I've broken it down those pieces are useless until I can figure out how to get those stickers off cleanly and easily. -
Very nice LT! Merry Christmas to all! We actually have a white Christmas this year, do you have a green Christmas?
-
Sorry meant that as the road signs and safety stuff which by the way came out great.
-
That looks good considering you did it with mainly parts from the original set. Keep it coming, I'm a fan so far. Your car in the other topic is awesome too. I wish I could figure out a decent vehicle MOC, I just can't get the geometry right...ever...

I really like those ads you made. As a father who passed down his love of Lego, I can really relate to the first one. So many tiny dangerous pieces in Fire Brigade we just built together.

Based on the amount of coffee mugs, does anyone sleep in Lego city?

Just a little something I was thinking to make the scene a little livelier

Small little thing but what about some traffic cones or warning signs around the jackhammer guy so he doesn't get run over or anything;)

Love those trees! The pubs pretty good too...but those trees are awesome!!
