That's what I'm saying the BL prices are so high that it makes it very difficult to purchase them. Not to mention that I can't even seem to find the hockey players stick or bagpipers bagpipes in the catalog

So after watching 2 amazing game sevens last night I thought we might need a topic about the playoffs if anyone is interested. I'm a huge Bruins fan and that game last night was amazing with a ridiculous comeback. The Leads fought hard and made it a heck of a series. My prediction is a Boston-Chicago final. But to be fair as long as the habs are out of it, I'm a happy camper. Soooo anyway let's talk some hockey here, favorite teams, playof predictions, whatever.

...off topic...YEP!...but yeah can't go wrong with seafood around here
-
Congrats Joe I'm sure your sash is in the mail. I'm from Boston and its all about seafood here. My favorite has to be clam chowder. New England style, so thick and creamy that your spoon sticks straight up when you try to eat it. Gotta be that or a nice fresh lobster roll. For those of you unfamiliar, it's pieces of lobster tossed with just enough mayo to hold it together and served on a toasted hot dog bun. A true New England favorite!

Yeah like I said I pretty much only build city and haven't really looked at friends much. But now that I think of it a lot of those pieces make perfect sense for friends.

I've been wondering this for awhile, but when will we be seeing some of the CMF accessories in official "regular" sets? Excuse me if I'm wrong, but some of these accessories would be great in various sets. I'm mainly a city builder so I've highlighted mainly those that are relevant for city sets. Some of the things I'm thinking of are the skis, ice skates and snowboard from series 2 and 3 would be great in the winter village sets. Or the mechanic's tool box from series 6 would fit right in with any city garage or gas station. The syringe from the series 1 nurse would be nice in another ambulance set. I know we've seen the surfboards pop up in at least one creator house, but as far as I know its the only accessory to make an appearance in anything other than a CMF packet. Any idea if/when some of these parts will become more readily available? If this is the wrong forum, could a mod please move it?

I love the VTOL plane and the coast guard sets. I wonder if we'll ever get a full scale logging subtheme?

LT, your stores are fantastic. I'm in the middle of building like 6 different types of small city stores based on your designs, fiancee is stopping my Lego buying for the foreseeable future so most everything is a WIP. She keeps going on about buying a house and paying for a wedding and keeping the kids fed and clothed...I kid I kid. . But anyway, your designs are great from the shelving to the front counters, all great!!

LEGO Area space design - Crowd Sourcing request

Speaking of sorting how do you go about cataloging? I have a spreadsheet that's pretty much organized the same way as bricklink does it. I'm very happy with it (although very time consuming) just seeing how others do it. -

Looks awesome! I'm extremely envious of the amount of storage you have. The way the table is made is very unique. What's the on the floor in the last picture? -
I think a service station will be coming at some point. It would definitely be a different approach but seeing as we've had a town hall and cinema a service station seems likely. This opinion is based solely on Lego modularizing the town plan set.

I can't believe I missed this thread! Your villages is fantastic and I always love a good story to go along with it. The way you did the garage fire is very well done. Kudos to you my friend.

I don't remember if I read it here or on brickset, but when the AC pictures first came out someone had said that the astronaut was a possible hint and a City spaceport theme for 2014. I believe they cited the last couple calenders as having hints for new/returning themes.
-
Ohh this brings back memories r-type is one of my favorite games ever.
-
Wow the advent calender looks like it has some interesting mini builds. I really like the cargo truck too

I took apart most of my sets long ago and dumped them all into a series of boxes... Now I'm in the process of counting and cataloging them all into smaller storage containers. It's quite the labor but a labor of love. Long story short, I just count all my bricks as opposed to looking online for inventories.

I love the throwing away of megabloks

The haligan is fantastic...I'll take 8! (Futurama reference) I really like how you made the scba too. And a real looking American helmet with the shield...wow I love it all!!

I think the road barriers are my favorite part
-
I wanted to do the roof sections first because that seemed like the most fun with the signage and whatnot. Also I wanted to leave the tiling on the baseplate until the end
-
I'd go with the palace cinema I had so much fun building that there was always something different. What I did was start from the roof and made my way down.

Now I don't claim to know everything about Lego pricing but would having a store stocked with "special" pieces such as tools and other minifig utensils be cost prohibitive?
