  1. Saw it once, bought one of them, all gone the next day. I wish I had picked up the AAT or the second 501st which was there too. Never seen it in stock anywhere yet! I don't mind since the pricing at retailers is only a couple of dollars cheaper than S@H, which I think has stock, but still.

  3. Great review: great effort in taking all of the photos and documenting all parts of the packaging and model so nicely. I realise why they don’t, but wouldn’t it be great if so much attention and care was still paid to packaging. Great work keeping it displayed so nicely. I was a bit disappointed for you when I read ‘do the electronics work’ and the next line was ‘not all’. Is there a third party part available to replace the 9V micromotor? Edit: https://www.toypro.com/au/product/32787/electric-motor-9v-micromotor-2-x-2/red have (albeit out of stock) a micromotor product which I believe is a third party version. I am not sure if they are reliable but could be worth investigating.
  4. That said, while they are great builds in their own right, and I think they are the best hospitals, there's unfortunately not much competition
  5. The two Kmarts near me have the TIE, shuttle and one has the Tatooine set. Shop at home shipping it is just nonsensical. Maybe this is regular practice I am ignorant of but last time I attempted a b&p order it would have charged almost $3 extra for shipping, no explanation given. I just gave up on buying Star Wars sets now, as I have what I need and can get more in other themes. The scout trooper is just great so I may give in, but I don’t have the space or resources for the upcoming UCS sets. The only set that is seriously appealing is the ITT due to the figures and that will depend on price point and if I can find it on sale.
  6. The news forum, pinned underneath this forum has a comprehensive list. The UCS, droids, Helmets and other d2c sets occupy the mid year before other UCS and system play sets. According to popular opinion it is probably going to be one of the best waves since 2016 or maybe since 2013 I agree, and I was only prepared for the scout trooper price simply because that’s what I was expecting, i’m disappointed nonetheless. I remember when shopping at Kmart for LEGO would entail entering one or two fully stocked aisles on the back of wall of the store, with almost every set in the catalogue and a few others available. Now, I have to launch an expedition through the party and fashion section, to find a desolate enclave, with shelves littered with the barest minimum of the least interesting sets in the most minute quantities, then you have to circumnavigate the store to find the checkout and spend endless hours trying to find the way in, before the security check at the door equivalent to that at an airport. Then I look at the Suez Canal and I realise that someone’s had a worse day than I have.
  7. We never got red leader, he’d be good
  8. Coaxial rotors were done on the ultra agents helicopter some time ago, so unless there was an issue there I think they would be ok. I think TLG would've preferred to let this one slide. Had it been cancelled later, I anticipate if it were cancelled later than December or January there would have been some sets or parts of it lying around somewhere, like there was with the Osprey set which already had some copies sold, simply because retailers would've had to have gotten stock any later for a March 1 release.
  9. It looks great, I do like the building facades and if it were released in this exact form I think it would sell amazingly well simply because of that alone. I really like the camera and light designs, and the 'smartphone holder' idea is genius and makes the set very practical.
  10. You've got to be joking me. I said in the general forum that Lego hates Australians. This is proof. I am hoping there is some kind of mistake because otherwise it is nonsensical. The trooper helmets all appear teh same size so I would have been fine with the same prices, but to charge double the price on the probe droid is utterly ridiculous and a blatant rip off. Apologies for ranting here but this has really decapitated my faith in TLGs goodwill.
  11. Western, castle and pirates are also fantasy themes, it's not as much kids are going to end up becoming bomb-makers from this set, just when it is such a close depiction of ongoing reality it is more insensitive. Anyway, I don't see why we should argue about this minor fact, I think we can both agree (and apologies for sounding hypocritical here) that it is very disappointing and unfortunate the set was cancelled for whatever reason.
  12. I know, just take the dynamite off and its fine. I don't think anyone wanted it for the dynamite. It was a great building and no-one can be blamed for looking forward to it. And an addendum: for brick's sake TLG, couldn't we have just gotten through one year with a wave of brilliant, AFOL compatible sets, we almost did. I am very disappointed with this set, yes its offensive, and I have said and recognise that. But i really really was looking forward to it.
  13. In the past decade almost 360000 civilian were killed or injured by IEDs. We have to remember that Lego City is also a toy which is aimed primarily at children. I don't know how many people would want their kids playing round with a crooks making explosives. It would be in poor taste but it is a shame since it was probably the most aesthetically pleasing city building in ages. GI joe, thundercats, masters of the universe, marvel and DC are all fictional and fantasy themes. Explosives and people being killed by terrorists and other criminals using them sadly happens every day, and this is almost exactly what the crooks hideout set represents.
  14. Thank you, I will set about filling in the form shortly
  15. Thank you, unfortunately I built it with bricks so there aren't any instructions, and its been extensively modified since to appear as a wreck and incorporated into another model that 'll post soon. I will attempt to take some interior pictures though to show how it is constructed at the front, as with some additional photographs the rear should be easier to construct
  16. That is a great build. I love the hangar design and the rest of the interior works really well to. You've captured the angles and patterns perfectly and the ratio of tiles and studs is really well done
  17. You know its bad when we're asking for more stickers.
  18. Thank you @Darth Bjorn for clearing that up, I look forward to joining soon.
  19. I agree with @MAB, if it is due to covid-19 then leaving them a week would do the job. Unless there is any dirt or grot in which case then I would wash that off and just wash the individual pieces well with basic soap and water, which shouldn't impact the bricks but should do the job very well. But I don't think any alcohol based product should impact a non-printed brick.
  20. combined with the "eyebrows", being the tyre pieces above the eyes, and the grille on the mouth being too short, he sort of looks like he is about to burst into tears or something, considering it is a depiction of probably the most well-known movie villain, or even character ever I would have thought that extra effort would have been taken to ensure it was just right.
  21. I just have a few questions about factions. I have been wondering about joining for some time but I just have some questions. I apologise if these are in the rules already stated but I just wanted to be sure. I also know some of these specific points have been made in the chat but I wanted to be sure I wasn't taking them out of context. -Once a character creator form is created and you have asked to join a faction, how does it work from there? I believe other sites have been mentioned but I am unsure how faction information is communicated. -Is there a minimum amount of builds you need to do for a faction and/or are builds assigned to you that you have to complete. I am unsure whether I would have the time to contribute many builds so I am unsure whether I could meet requirements regularly. Thanks in advance
  22. My ideas for a CMF spanning all trilogies are: General Grievous as minifigure (pre-cyborg), with cloak and staff Galactic Marine, with Kama, backpack and blaster rifle P2 Cody Figure, with Kama, Paul’s tons and blaster pistols Wat Tambor Force Ghost Obi Wan Kenobi, with cloak and transparent lightsaber hilt and blade Crix Madine, with Death Star hologram Darth Vader with partial helmet and Luke head (as in ep. V) Ewok with baby ewok and weathered stormtrooper helmet drum Sith Rey (as in ep. IX) with double bladed lightsaber and Wayfinder Stormtrooper Finn with blaster Max Kanata with jet pack and blaster Galen Erso with hologram and Death Star plans
  23. I think that there a quite a few deserving specific characters that would be great in a CMF, such as seperatist council members, specific clone troopers, like a galactic marine of the worshipped yet elusive P2 Cody. There could be niche variations of figures, such as the sith Rey or stormtrooper Finn, yet I feel that any such series would leave so many characters out, and would be so occluded with main characters and variations there would be no room for any desirable characters like clones or stormtroopers, and I echo previous comments that any prospective army building would be severely inhibited. Still, I would love nothing more than to be proved incorrect
  24. Thank you for you nice comment, I am glad you like it. Actually, this vehicle was made by LEGO in 2010, albeit in a battle pack and less detailed, including two new rebel troopers, a rebel officer (the old rebel trooper print) and Zev Senesca. It was actually the only battle pack to explicitly contain a named character.
  25. That looks great, the proportions seem spot on and there are some great skilful details for such a small model
