LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Stuartn replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This was never a set I was going to buy regardless of quality, as I am more interested in other sets, and I have to make priorities, but I actually like the inclusion of two speeder bikes. More often than not, with vehicle sets, any auxiliary or other vehicles are given little attention, so to see the effort put in here is heartening as, despite detracting from this set, it could set a precedent for other sets. In my opinion adding more small builds enhances playability which is important for children, who won’t care that much over proportionality and detail. I recall sets such as the Naboo fighter from 2015 which I got on my waning KFOL years, and the smaller builds were much more fun than the main build -
I would really like some of the most notable ones like the kangaroo, duck and panda. I think the creator orca was satisfactory and where possible I prefer brick built large animals to reflect the not quite human proportions of mini figures. But I’d also like a zebra too. I wish there would be a sheep mould and I’d like to see cattle moulds in greater numbers: a cattle truck would be a great set, with a stockyard integrated into a road plate

[MOC] MINIs from Prequels - 13 Models Incl. NEW SPHA-T

That looks great, good work capturing the assymetry of the vehicle. The main cannon looks very accurate and the legs are simple yet effective and well positioned -
That looks great, the vegetation is amazing and I like te clever use of all of the whip pieces. The crate looks great too, as does the platform

Thank you

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

It was first circulated on the 1st of April, so that might increase its chances of being false. -
That is an incredible build, I really like all of the different windows and arch details, and the round wall is great, and I agree with other comments that the roof on the tower is excellent. The colours you have chosen work really well together and the plants at the front are really well done too. By the way, what is the piece you used for the tree trunk?

That is an incredible build, the overall level of detail is exceptional and the high functionality is brilliant. -

I know that was meant jokingly, but between now and the set releases there will be a lack of news for SW rumours so it could be used to fill that gap for leakers’ content if it is interesting, hence why they are not disclosing it by choice -

Unless the $30 set is a prequel set (my completely uninformed guess of what it is is that it is (by that confusing yet correct sentence I mean I think it will be a true PT set)), there is no rumoured PT set besides the gunship, unless you count the Vader helmet and R2D2. -
What are some Star Wars sets that TLG could never produce?
Stuartn replied to Pdaitabird's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It’s fun to read this thread and see all of the sets that ‘will never be made’ (for valid reasons) and know just how many have been made since posted. But I can name a figure that will never be made: P2 cody -
Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Stuartn replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
As it is an African inspired theme, with elephants and lions, it would presumably be a Nile crocodile or West African crocodile as alligators are only found in North America. The mould looks more alike an alligator however, but since it also appeared as either a saltwater crocodile or American crocodile in the pirates theme I think of it as a crocodile. While it also appeared in the swamp police sets, there are crocodiles as well as alligators in North America so it could still be a crocodile without being out of place. -

To me it looks like light bluish grey in colour, simply because the dome matches the grey elements on the cylindrical part -

Kmart is incredibly successful here. It was a joint venture between S.S.Kresge (who owned Kmart in the US) and the Australian Coles supermarkets, who later bought out S.S. Kresge, hence it if fully independent of the US Kmarts. They actually opened their own stores in the US under the Anko brand name, but closed them recently as they were only a pilot. Dozens of Australian Target stores (owned by the same parent company, Wesfarmers) are being converted to Kmarts as it is much more popular. Kmart was struggling in the mid 2000s, but in the last decade has transformed. -
[Opinion] Review of the new road plates system (2021)
Stuartn replied to The Lego Room's topic in LEGO Town
Actually, from the replies to this post, it would seem that there is a consensus among many that these new plates are better in mnay ways, there are deficits as has been pointed out, but I wouldn't say liking these new road plates is unpopular anymore. -

Yes I am from Australia. Here Kmarts have very affordable prices which are very consistent and stable, and that is where I purchase Lego city sets, but currently Amazon has the best price for that specific set, and I don't see it getting any lower. -
[Opinion] Review of the new road plates system (2021)
Stuartn replied to The Lego Room's topic in LEGO Town
I have my own brick built roads but I still bought four of the new plate sets for the accessories and because I can see many uses for these plates ( a multi-storey carpark) and I intend on using some for Star Wars mocs -

I stand corrected then, interesting to know. I wasn't aware the main bad batch characters were in CW at all, having not seen the last seasons. -

It (assuming we are talking about the Bad Batch shuttle set) is based on the upcoming Bad Batch TV series, which will start on May the 4th on Disney Plus. -

The hull is counted as one piece on this site, even though it has two components. -

The police boat has a PPP ratio of 22c per part, while other sets have a ratio of around 16c per part, so there is a 37.5% increase in price for that set, but on B&P the hull piece is worth $28.40, 47.3% of the set. That means the remainder of the set has a PPP ratio of only 11c, which is quite good value, but yes, the hull piece adds much cost. -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Stuartn replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think this would be where the current gaps in the Star Wars line up are. Petranaki arena would be spectacular if done well, but an MBS Endor might be good too. The MC80 and Nebulon B are also in demand ships and would probably be excellent models. I would assume some previously done system sets translated into UCS could be done, such as the U Wing or TIE bomber and be popular sets.. -
Thank you, I tried to think of a LEGO related word starting with E, to go with Espa and Eisley, but couldn’t and went with Greeble as it sounded best. My original plan was to have a crashed X Wing on the right side of the build, so the plain light tan section would’ve actually added balance, but as I moved this build earlier in the imperial era I decided to drop that (pieces, or a lack thereof) also played a part. The brown skiff I kept lower as it doesn’t have a detailed underside like the grey one, but I see you point and I will add perhaps a tile or two underneath.
