I can't seem to find 8109 anywhere. Yet, at the lego event in the netherlands (october/november somewhere) they had a ton of them. You know any shop that has it, and Is the pricing still the same? As for the sets: Build them all! That's why you buy lego in the first place right? Or if you want to get rid of 8109...

Would love to buy one, but financials are a bit uncertain, and i'm not sure if this is the kind of set i like to own. I love the looks of it, and the rare color and stuff... Argh, who am i kidding. Would love to have one

Lego Creator Expert 10234 Sydney Opera House
captainmib replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Why is this set in the creator line and not in the architecture line? It looks fantastic - sometimes I think it's a pitty I collect technic and don't have room/money for these fantastic sets (orthanc, x-wing etc.)- 127 replies

This is such an amazing vehicle in lego. Can you tell us a bit about the building process? Took a long time? I think it's really awesome that all those functions fit in there and work really good as well.

Ah man, that's just sad. I was looking forward to them. Guess i will have to reverse engineer it then... Good luck on your other projects. -
I'm still in doubt if I should buy both of these sets or none at all. At first I was really enthusiastic - a green set with lots of functions and good looks, a giant crane, but the longer the wait the more i doubt. Anio, what are you saying unstructured mess? Is it a messy build, or are you talking about control of the functions?

The Tentacle!

Awesome creation Sariel, really clever. Efferman, please build a cool walking dino. We need something after the T-rex from control center II. -
Does anyone know if he is producing building instructions? It's a beautiful car, and a difficult one to reproduce in lego, but this looks top of the bill...

A week? I can wait that long. Your video showed even more how awesome this model is. I really want to build the gearbox to see how it works. To bad i don't have L/servo motor(s) -

Dude, that's awesome. You did a good job with that restart. The whole project looked promising, but you made a really nice car out of it. Would really like to build it for myself. You were going to make instructions weren't you? -

Nice! This car has almost the same width as 8070, but uses wheels that are quite smaller, would you u say that concerning scale it looks good/better with these tires? -
Your parts wishlist

My simple idea is this: A gear that comes with an axle-hole at 45 degrees angle, so two axles can be lined-up straight. like this: + + It would be nice for different situations, and one of them is airplane usage, where the joystick needs to line up with the flaps on the wing -

Don't know if this is already mentioned, but the cross axle 5.5 (#59426) has no functioning stop. So the axle can be put in any position through a hole. -
Lost, can you tell me that your picture with leftovers is correct? I am missing a few parts and want to check whether I am missing even more. I like to build the B-model in the future, and it seems i am down in 1 change-over catch, a 24 tooth gear, 2 8 tooth gears and some other small stuff. For the A-model i am missing a white plate 1x8...

So, this is quite a bump, but I received this set for my birthday, used, nearly complete but in good shape. And after building it, i'm really surprised. What an awesome set this is... The functions, the looks, the special parts. I love the use of rubber bands, the micromotor and the way you control both motors. Though they can be sometimes tricky, rubber bands are excellent for places with little space. A good example is the powering to the light-brick. only 8 tooth gears would have fitted there, but they still require stability, and would cause a lot of friction. This whole set says "dedication" to its development. It is really well thought-out and uses nice techniques. Must be nice to have a set in the future that uses rubber bands, it's a nice addition to gears.
