  1. Interesting idea D! I got one, so i can try to implement it... Thanks for the thoughts so far
  2. Thanks! You got me. Yes they control the functions of the shuttle. Left: turn and use of crane Right: deploy landing gear Top: open cargo doors I'm trying to keep it technic yes. Will probably use the same parts for doors as in 8480. And you are right - the build is very tight. No room for a canada-arm Thanks. Don't own a lot of white. Ofcourse this would look awesome in black and white. (don't own those parts unfortunately) Well, the nose has pretty much it's shape. So only a front cover or maybe a logo?
  3. Today i learned LDD needs an internet connection to function... I actually don't like the idea. What do we need TLG servers for and what are they using the connection for?? Anyway, i have the same problem.
  4. So here is the moc i have been working on for the past couple of months... A Space Shuttle tribute to 8480. It's still work in progress since October 2011 - yes, quite long. I think this is the 3rd build. First, pic's! ------------- A cute little cockpit: ------------- The engines/Afterburners - these guys hold a secret... ------------------ Bottom - looking (very) red ------------ Tail - the red bush controls the direction of the shuttle ------------ As you can see, i'm not finished. The hard part left is building a proper crane, i've build several concepts, but nothing that i really like. The first tries were done with the crane of 8071 and rebuilding the crane of 8480. But this is a tribute, not a copy, so i'm not sure on this part... So, help and ideas would be very welcome! One other job is installing the cargo-doors but that will not be a big issue. Functions: Landing-gear Rudder Flaps Crane - turn-table and one function Cargo-doors No PF - all hand controled. Can you figure out how?!! Vist my brickshelf for more
  5. I think the step to register and support such a thing takes a little effort - if you're not a lego fan it might be to much... Anyway, lego should just review al serious entries on the cuusoo site. not just the ones that reach 10.000 supporters.
  6. Love the helicopter! The rock climber still doesnt do much for me - i think it's not my kind of set. I think it's a good job creating such a b-model from a helicopter - limited in the parts but this came out as a real different model.
  7. What an awesome model! Great job. It looks very well like the original... Lego should make a set out of such a model.
  8. Thank you both! Filled in the form on lego.com... Yes, it is a missing part. Now my Mog can't tow itself to safety Now we wait
  9. Can you explain why? maybe there are more then 10 best. Or i want to vote for something original but low quality... If a poll would be used it would be impossible to check who voted - you needed to be registered for some time to be able to vote...
  10. So, i finished the build of the set, but not quite 100%... I'm missing a part needed in the winch - it's 4211889 in grey and i'm missing one... How do i get in contact with Lego for this? Help would be appreciated. Other then that. Fantastic set. Nice scale, functions and looks. Really great!
  11. My 0.03$ 1) To find out that my entry was not worthy enough was a bit a 'meh' moment for me. Ok, it wasnt that good and i didnt had much time to build something good, but there were other entries i found worthy to be voted for. In my opinion, all entries should be able to enter the vote (ok, not if it's really bad and not related to the theme) It's a bit harsh to find out the knights of the round table decided you have a win chance of exactly 0%... So, in order to prevent this, give some good advice to novice builders - then they will be eager to improve next time 2) Next time, a hard deadline would be nice. Not knowing if you have 5 days left or 2 weeks can make a BIG difference (knowing you will have an extra weekend with building time) 3) On the other hand, this was a really nice contest, great prices and great entries. The rules can be more cleare, and i would somewhat agree with a partcount-limit (for the smaller contests) Keep on going!
  12. They don't like you Paul. It's hard for them not to be jealous, so to limit your building a bit, they don't release stuff you like or need Ninjago and bionocle - 2 things I really don't understand from lego....
  13. So, i picked up this fantastic set today. I was looking at it the past couple of weeks and today we went to a nice legoshop. Saw it there and couldnt resist... What a huge box! And if you open it... Man, those tires are giant! Building it now, arrived at second book. Great set!
  14. Very nice functions in a compact car. good job! Does it off road well? or is it a in-house offroader
  15. I supported your cuusoo just by clicking the link on the first page of this topic. I checked it just right now and it still works for me, i get a green support button... (oftopic - are you going to show more pictures of your porsche? i'm trying to build it from pics, although i'm not sure if i have al the needed parts)
  16. Supported on Cuusoo! I don't understand why there are so little votes on this great model... Has every Eurobricks-technic-member already supported???
  17. Done! Hope something nice is the product of these surveys...
  18. This would be so awesome. Synchro gears in all types could have loads of possibilities, not just for gearboxes...
  19. Well, if there is a limited budget for a set and the choice is A) a speed-gearbox or B) a function-gearbox i rather have the second. But, yes, if there would be a limited edition technic model with both options, that would be great. I wonder if would ever get a set like that in technic (like the $400 star wars sets - 3000 pieces etc.) And yes, model railways are expensive. My dad has that as an hobby, the stuff he gathered over the years is worth a small fortune i guess. So, what would we technic-heads want for a limited edition technic model? (with a price range of lets say €250 - 400?)
  20. I agree with that. Some models dont really need a motor to have well functioning functions. I'd like to turn a knob and gear - it gives me more feeling with the model. Switching to a function and let the motor do the rest is sometimes fun, but can easily become lazyness When there are LA's in the question, the anwer becomes a bit different though. You need a lot of turns to have some effect - even with a motor.
  21. I agree with you meatman. Lego could have easily made a working steeringwheel, which would have made the set even better. I personaly really like the 8070 gearbox, and rather see some nice functions then just a driving-gearbox. The functionality of that is only visible if you A) have it motorised or B) Have it on a display (and somehow spin the wheels) Maybe with the introduction of 9398 (with new motors) TLG is able to produce pf-rc cars with a driving-gearbox
  22. Did anyone already build the 9395 b-model? (i actually mean, did anyone dared to build it? I think it's really ugly, and doesnt have any exciting functions...) And can someone tell me if 9397 is worth its money. Right now im waiting for the release of the helicopter, i will definitely buy it...
  23. 10: 2 12: 2 14: 3 I think all entries are great, including the ones not votable. The quality of some entries is really good. Others have nice creativity. Nice job!
  24. Are you planning on releasing instructions? so we can build it ourselves? It looks really great...
  25. I understand your problem of a "brick wall" but i like to go with GuiliuG - post your question in the thread you made of the MOC. And just keep trying. Maybe design something else to get new insights or creativity. Look at other MOC's or just simply go read instructions from lego.
