I've never watched TAS, but this looks impressive. Very sleek and great scale. It should fit well into any city layout. I may have to look at this for inspiration in the future.

There were rumors afloat that DC Superhero Girls was cancelled? I don't know any inside information, just what was talked about on the interwebs.

Clever use of pieces here. I hadn't attempted rockwork like that. The dragon looks really good for brickbuilt. Is it similar to the ninjago green dragon? I hadn't built that one either, but they did come up with some interesting ideas. Good luck in the contest.

Clever idea. A bit different than a usual winter village set-up. I like some of the Easter eggs, although I'm not sure I found them all. I hadn't thought of accumulating a lot of Svens for reindeer instead of the brick built versions. Other than his goofy smile, they work quite well.

Nice job. I don’t care how inaccurate it is, but Keanu is my Constantine. But this looks good

The scale is impressive. The lights in the dark look superb. Good thinking there. I do and I don't like how all of the buildings look similar. It makes it feel cohesive, but it doesn't add variety either. But maybe in a true village, the buildings would look similar enough. Either way, Happy Christmas.

What is that crossing part in the middle of the road? Just a waiting area until cars get by so people can cross? I haven't seen those before. As for the LEGO part of it, looks interesting. A bit more detailing could work for the ground terrain/water, but looks good overall. Very active.

This looks more "realistic" in terms of a car being modified into a batmobile as opposed to those super long nosed cars (Don't get me wrong, I like those too). But this fits in easier in a town setting. I may have to look at this for inspiration for my Batcave MOC since the official versions are way too big to fit into an actual MOC layout. This does look angry, but in a good way. Kudos.

Considering that post is from June, I don't know how much it explains. I didn't even see the Jamie Berard one. But then again I didn't look that hard.

Some neat features for sure. I like the idea of the clock. Is that a custom clock face? I like the actual stand more than just the die being used. The post adds a lot of character with the pieces used. The lamp post looks neat too. The birds nest works. I hadn't thought about that before. I also like the fencing as simple as it is.

Looks good. I do question if the waterfall (which looks good by the way) is flowing down the mountain, how is it freezing to create the ice skating rink? Clever idea, but I am questioning the reality. (I also would be willing to question how the grass gets cut in the Walking Dead). Unless I missed it, is it a custom minifigure scale VW Beetle? Did you find instructions or come up with that yourself? Looks really good and handy for a minifigure layout. I may have to look at that for inspiration. A lot of neat details here. I like the minifigure placement. I am very interested in seeing your new layout so I can compare with this. It is always neat to see the evolution of our MOCs. Happy building!

Those look great. That's a problem since I'm trying to cut back on LEGO and I know my daughter will love these. Grr! Thanks for sharing! The new figures and animals look great too.

Well, this is both exciting and frustrating. I recently picked up the PPG dimensions sets 50% at Best Buy. But with a whole theme of them, unless they change the figure, now I will have duplicates and money wasted. I guess I'll wait and see how they look when the time comes. I'd love a Him also.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
TheLegoDr replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Thank you for the above picture. That looks great! I do plan to switch them out, so this is perfect for me. I do wish they would give more new torsos more often though. That dark gray/red hair lady has been around quite a while now. -
I won AND my picture is on the calendar. You just made my year! Thank you so much for putting on this contest again. My daughter will flip for the gift. Best of luck to the remainder. In my book, you're all winners. (We had a lot of great entries this year)

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

With all of these photoshops, I am liking this set more and more (or is it less and less). that is to say I really like the modified versions of it. I think this set has potential. It has grown on me more than expected. I will definitely modify it on my own accord, but I might keep the color scheme as is for now until some of these other colors come into production. Thanks for the inspiration.

Well done. It looks like quite the scene. I've been wanting to do one, but I never have time or space. I should figure it out just once and take pictures to share with people. I like a lot of the details. The figure placement works well. Good idea on the sleepwalker.

Thanks for the contest. It is fun to see what people come up with every year (and to see if I win).

Some interesting ideas here. I actually prefer the rear facade better than the front. I think the gold works well with the dark blue and I would add the flowerbed to the rear and switch it around. I'm not sure why, but it doesn't seem as cohesive on the front. The interiors do shine overall. I'm like others with the stairs being a problem. I don't like how the lawyer is trapped. And I don't like how the front door opens up to the stairs. I think there should be something separating the main door to the actual law office. This doesn't seem too private. I will agree the toilet is weird being open next to the stairs, but I guess if you live alone it might not be a problem. Keep up the good work.

Populating the Creator Modular series with CMFs
TheLegoDr replied to DeanLearner's topic in LEGO Town
some good ideas. I love the classic yellow smiley so I will be sad if they change that aspect of modulars. I saw the pictures too so it's tough to say. -
Nicely done. I am beginning to like asymmetrical builds, but I do like fluidity, so I agree with GCO. That was my first thought. Move the central tower over the door and keep the rest uniform above the dual bays. Even keeping the flag centered between the bays works of the rest looks centered also. I changed mine into firehouse 23 from Ghostbusters filming location but I have given thought to changing it to something different with less symmetry. Keep up the good work. I may have to look back at this for inspiration.

Interesting idea. I had considered doing that, but since no one ever sees the interior i decided to not waste the tiles. I like the idea except for almost every building has a very similar tile technique other than colors. I'd like to see more variety. Also you tiled the top of market street but not detective agency. Either way. Interesting.

Thanks again for putting on this raffle. I haven't won in almost 5 years, but hopefully this year will be better. I figured as important as the tree is on Christmas, the company you spend the day with is just as important! Elves Christmas Gathering by TheLegoDr, on Flickr

Brilliant! I see a lot of great little details here. The glow works well too. I like the approach of limiting the scale to a baseplate. I have been wanting to do a Barad-Dur mini scale since seeing an Orthanc mini scale that I built from looking at pictures online. So I wanted to build one to that scale. Mine will have to be smaller than this, but I can see taking away some good ideas here (with credit of course). Keep up the great work. Always fun seeing microscale, LOTR, or both!
