The bodywork is pretty good, I like the Headlights. But why are the Wheels sticking out so much? Was there really no way to get the tires flush to the Body?

How the F would having 4 pins instead of 2 make the part more expensive? Just use a different mold from the getgo thats all there is to it... And "even more expensive"? You mean for us buyers, right? Because these pieces cost almost nothing to make for TLG, not even close to 10ct/piece, more like 0.1 ct/piece. These Prices are just greedy, nothing else.

Do you have a Scale at home to weigh humans? If yes, you can use that to weigh your car. Just weigh yourself, weigh yourself again while holding the Car, and do the Math I still dont get how 3 shocks per axle are holding 10 kg... That would be over 0.8 kg per shock, probably even more if you take the "lever forces (no idea how this is called in english)" into account, which will make it even worse.

When boring out the cylinders you would probably get problems with the Pinholes, my guess is that the cylinders are already as big as they can be without contact with the Pinholes. -

It depends on how close the Pistons can be placed together. And thats also the problem with the LEGO engines: The space between the pistons is way to big. It looks okay on a V12, because it has some width to it, but on a inline 6 the problem is obvious, it looks bad visually. -

Well, I do like the normal Piston Engines more, but they are way too big. Especially too long. Engines like the 2JZ or RB26 are so popular Engine Swap options because they make huge power in a pretty compact size that fits most Engine Bays. But the LEGO version is as long as a V12, so only a few select Cars could host such an engine. I think in this case the small axle Egine is a good choice. But it should be pretty easy to swap this car to a (Turbocharged) Inline 4 yourself, using real Pistons . -
10kg? Holy sh*t dude, I am only now realizing what crazy suspension setup you have going on there at the front. I used a quad spring setup on the rear axle of my NSX, and its only about 3kg!!! Plaese tell me more about your suspension setup in the front&rear. I know it is a lot to ask, but some LDD files would be amazing, but you dont have to. Some pics would be cool too. Damn.

The new rear Wheel arches improved the overall appearance by a lot. I gotta say it looks pretty damn good, even though I am more of a Sportscar kinda guy

I have the 4958 Dinosaur. Great selection of bricks, but disappointing functions. I was so hyped when I got this thing for chrismas when i was like 9 years old, and it was fun to build, but I was sooo disappointed when I realized there was no way to walk curves, so it got killed pretty quickly for parts. Yeah, I was pretty naive back then, but I just assumed you could change directions because being able to walk would be pretty useless without it .

Well, an Inline 6 is pretty long usin the normal Engine Cylinders. At least 14 studs of engine length? This time the small fake Engine was the bettter choice imo. I mean, the Engine Bay isn't even long enough to fit such an engine. -
Where did you get those 3L Axles in Black from? Just curious Keep it up, looks pretty good so far

Instructions are in the making, should not take tooo much time anymore. @Thorsten50 is making good progress. The Hood was one hell of a job to get it the way it is now, still, I am looking forward to your improvements- 87 replies

Very cool looking, and powerful as well. I like the front suspension setup But please, that spare tire...It just looks off, as it is way to small. -
Well, that would mean they could for once not throw in 50 different colors in the inside. But I bet they'll do so anyways.

Technic 2020 Set Discussion
Gray Gear replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I dont think I am old enough to really apprechiate the old Brick style build of 8880, but pop up Headlights and a manual Transmission are enough to make it cooler than the Bugatti imo -

I dont like the way the Chiron looks, the Porsche just looks better when comparing the Model to the real Counterpart imo. And the way LEGO decided to bump up the Price by a lot just to flood the internet with advertisement, instead of improving the Model and working out these Flaws... Damn. If I look at the Model without the Pricetag and Background in mind, its okay, but still... The sequential Transmission is cool, and the only thing I really like about the Chiron. And the new Blue shift Gear amazing, so I guess I cant really hate the Bugatti afterall . If you like your Bugatti, I am happy for you. Its just not for me. Maybe my comment earlier sounded harder than It was really meant. And if you dont like cars, and just look at the unmodiefied LEGO Sets of cars, I can understand you. I dont love these as well. Well, 8880 is pretty neat for what it is . To me, your comment seemed very generalized, and not exclusively targeted at TLG. My bad. Because if you talk Technic cars in general, there is a lot more to see that Doors and an Engine. -

Well, a unreflected comment like that clearly shows you've never built your own Technic Car, otherwhise you would know there is a lot more to it. But there is no point in arguing with someone walking around wearing blinkers, unable to look left or right. You are missing out on a lot of cool building techniques and ideas, just saying. -
You might want to check this, but from what I could tell on first look you did not lose much lenght in the drivers cabin, butalso some in the length of the hood. YES! This Tool helped me sooo much on my Honda NSX, everybody should be using it if you were asking me Double check your Blueprint tho before you start building, loosing your blueprint half way into the build is like the worst thing ever. Finding good Blueprints is also a pain in the megablocks for some Cars.

Technic 2020 Set Discussion
Gray Gear replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well, I just want more cars like the Porsche and the Bugatti, and less of those Corvette type sets. I dont really like the Porsche, and the Bugatti is a fckn Wreck, but they brought good parts for me to use. -
Front and rear look good, but the side shot somehow felt off for me. The whole car seemed too short and too high. A calculation in Sariels model scaler with semi-accurate values told me the wheelbase is like 3 or 4 studs too short, and the roof like 2 or more studs too high. The way you used thse curved panels behind the rear wheels is really nice tho, looks really smooth

I dont actually care what sets they release, If i can get some cool new pieces for my car from a bulldozer model, I am happy. But most Bulldozers dont feature 1:8 scale Sportscar rims, so we'll need some more "Supercars". And tbh, sh*t like the corvette dont even really count as cars. Like, not even opening doors? seriously? At this point, you might as well put 4 wheels on a Orange and call it a car. Jam a differential in there and you wont be able to tell a difference.
