  1. I doubt LEGO prices are really related to the cost of production. They choose the price by market research, what people will still be willing to pay, but will give them the highest profit.
  2. "With full steering action!" Excuse me what? That sounds so dumb, like, what is "half steering action" then? @paul_delahaye To me it is a bigger joke that they still kid themselves using the "Build for real" slogan at the end. "RWD" is all I have to say in that matter.
  3. You are correct, as a car guy i tend to mix up these truck names... Zetros, Arocs, Actros... whatever.
  4. @Maaboo35 Well the Actros is 2x the price of the heavy duty tow truck with similar piece count, so appearently the PU components cost 150 Euro Good one
  5. @Zerobricks maybe the 2 Motors for drive arn't that stron, but the small bevel gears in the diff arn't strong as well. Over time some damage could happen. And I agree, it would make sense to lock the diff in low gear, and open it when driving "fast"
  6. @Andman while that would be cool it could also damage the drivetrain is on wheel is spinning freely at max rev and you suddenly bust in the difflock.. that could send quite the shock strough the drivetrain.
  7. Well spotted, that's the basic idea of LEGO . And I am pretty sure most people in a forum for LEGO enthusiasts are well aware of that.
  8. I thought so too, it seems obvious, but appearently a "Sperrdifferential" or "Selbstsperrdifferentialgetriebe" is basically an LSD and a "Differentialsperre" is a lockable diff. Weird but okay.
  9. Well it probably won't come with a gearbox
  10. I don't have any problem with a girl being used as the advertising model for this set. There are girls that like "boy stuff" like cars or guns, and thats fine. So why not have a girl ad model for once? If only LEGO was so open minded when it comes to LEGO Friends and LEGO City... There the "Excavator for the boy, Pink Shopping Mall for the Girl" mentality is still very present.
  11. @howitzer is the tolerance needed really tight? 1/5 of a stud would be much easier than1/4 stud
  12. That Skateboard picture will be interesting. If the Zetros can actually climb a Skateboard at that angle I would be impressed, that angle is pretty steep. But if it cannot that picture would be a bit questionable... I guess it comes down to what the mentioned gearbox will be.
  13. ↑ How I imagine the inside of a LEGO set (And also how it is )
  14. Yeah well I can't understand why y'all are changing your opinions on this set now. Nothing new has been revealed, and the discussed flaws are still there. Does your opinion change just because of some box art?
  15. Okay... What you are saying is true, dont throw away a LEGO piece that are still usable, but that message is true for almost any LEGO brick. To sum it up, I don't get the point of this thread
  16. I mean not even black is able to cover the whole parts catalog. Basic stuff like the 27940 connector are not available in black, and black shoud be the most available color of all. If I had to build all my own MOCs with LEGO's awfully limited parts catalog I don't know if I would still be into this hobby.
  17. Well I'd rather not have any technic pieces in this color. Dark red is not really needed in the technic world imo.
  18. You might be right that would be very cheap, the connector there clearly should be black I know my eyes have some problems with color reception, telling certain colors apart, but I never had problems with black or gray?! Is it just me or does the 27940 connector look very black here But less black here? I think there was some kind of filter on the pics to cover up the color differences. I just compared with real bricks and the color difference is night and day there
  19. I don't know if it was already mentioned, but I just spotted the 27940 connector in black color at the top of the windshield. Finally.
  20. Well McLaren doesn't make the Senna in 1WD either so I think we can say TLG doesn't care. But honestly I don't think fitting a front Diff and a lockable center diff would be too much to expect if there isn't even a gearbox inside.
  21. I mean they paid a Lamborghini mechanic to paint their bricks so obviously they will have perfect colors on the completed Model... but what colors lie under the paint we may never know.
  22. Sticker head- and taillights is just lazy. When I imagine how much time I spend on the head- and taillights on my MOC cars, just slapping a sticker on would almost cut the time needed for the entire body in half, especially with such a simple box body. What I hate most about this is that the normal kid that just puts on the sticker with his hands (without cleaning the surface and using tweezers) will not even have a recognizable model left once the head- and taillights start peeling off
  23. I agree that the shock is being bent the way it is mounted here. And while I do not like it I don't think it will cause any issues in this case because it is only a soft shock absorber. It would be a different story for a hard shock absorber.
  24. I have to agree, the bodywork looks very well made, but the wheels don't fit. I was happy when I saw that you brick built the black stripe in the front, but then I saw the back... I hate stickers with a passion, so I think the rest of the stripe should be brickbuilt too. Thx for sharing
