  1. Well what else is the reason then? Was including two more wheels and a few bricks just too expensive for 300$ set?
  2. Well that's what TLG should expect when designing the set. There is a reason these MOC trucks are 6x6 and have bigger tires. TLG chose to not to go that way, and this test shows the results. I knew the Zetros would struggle with its lacking ground clearance. What suprised me most was how bad the turn radius is, like, how can that happen?
  3. I mean I think circuit cubes are cute in builds like this, but I can't really take them serious a competitor to BuWizz or the chinese alternatives.
  4. @Agent 00381 the area above the rear wheels is the biggest weakspot. Maybe you could remove the small wing panels and use a 3rd flex piece instead to make it look more similar to the front wheelarch design? I know there would be some slight gaps, but I think it could look good.
  5. I think the front looks pretty good, smooth lines! But the rear doesn't look that good imo. The bodywork looks a bit cluttered and doesn't flow very well. I like the removable HOG that removes the axle down as well. Not a big fan of the transmission tho. I tried it myself in the past, and it doesn't really run smooth and lacks a reliable mechanism to shift from inside the cabin. Overall a cool build.
  6. It all depends on how it is framed in the bodywork. The presented solution could look good I think, but it could also look bad just as easily.
  7. It makes sesne to pitch a better model to Ford when getting the license. I still don't get how Ferrari could have let that disaster happen, like, do they not even check what LEGO is selling with their name on the box? I wonder what TLG presented Ferrari...
  8. @syclone I thought of the Schwerer Gustav too! But that cannon has a lot of space in the back to handle the massive recoil, and most importantly a fixed gun. A curved railway section had to be built tocaim this thing. I think the gun looks too big for the vehicle, especially for a closed turred layout.
  9. Why is it called a "Battleship"? Looks more like a wheeled artillery verhicle to me I think the vecile body looks pretty good, a bit too futuristic for me but good. What I don't like is the cannon. I think the diameter of the gun is way overboard, and the turret in which it is mounted is way too small in comparison. Did you use paint or non-Lego bricks btw?
  10. @Ullum Zurt I can see the images just fine
  11. This is very interesting to me. So the steering is completely free and just follows the motion of the car? I might have to experiment with this some time...
  12. If this is "The coolest new feature" of the app, then I don't see any reason to get it This set doesn't even gain anything from the C+ system. The only place C+ could have been useful was for the diff lock, where a calibrated motor could have provided a precise locking movement without using a linear clutch. The way it is now the Zetros could just as well be powered by the old PF system.
  13. Very nice review! If you like trucks this seems to be a good set, and probably the best technic set this wave! And Price isn't too bad as you'll probably be able to pick it up for ~100€ if you have a little patiance. I disagree with a lot LEGO is currently doing, butI have to give credit is due!
  14. If I were him I'd be more worried about the missing ellbow joint on the right arm
  15. Fist of all I built the other side of the car, so the car body is now the same on both sides. The Rollcage was replaced with LBG liftarms. And I finally finished the trunk: Honestly this was such a big pain in the a$$, unbelivable. First of all, because I curved the bumper I had to curve the edge of the trunk as well. Very fun if it has to be 1.8 studs high to match the sides. And second the way the trunk is mounted is a real pain because the angle of the rear window is so shallow it was really difficult to get the trunk edge to align with the edge of the bumper. But after countless attempts I found a solution that works. Anybody has an idea for a mechanism to keep this open, without looking real stupid? I am having real trouble with the hood as well. It is such a big flat surface it always ends up looking really weird. I am probably going to install hood vents, that always solved this problem in the past. That's it for now
  16. @nerdsforprez Very nice! I really like that engine block...
  17. What is the purpose of that second row of wheels? Are they just there for decoration, or is there some way the lower section can be removed so the upper wheels are needed? Of couse coolest would be if the wheelbase could extend itself and the upper wheels would move down to form a functional 2nd and 4th axle. I hope you get what I mean, but I think it would be too hard to implement.
  18. Hm, it looks weird if I may say so. The bodywork doesn't look as good as the studded 8880 bodywork. I don't think 8880 is beautiful, but it looks "cool". And your bodywork lost that "cool" somewhere. Maybe it is the more rounded off look, idk One of the things I think need improvement are the pop up headlights. They are way too small, and give the car a bit of a tired look.
  19. @TechnicRCRacer So you mean this? Link IT has been on the market a while now, TLG just hasn't copied it (yet)
  20. @OnyyX Thank you so much for these pictures I would have loved to take pictures with the real car myself, but sadly I have only seen an R32 Skyline once in my life. I was in 7th grade, and didn't even know what a GT-R was. But I can still remember the unusual circular taillights in that dusty parking spot...
  21. How did I miss this thead until now? I had never seen the original model before, and I think it looks very cool (the blue color probably helps a lot lol). Also 2 Air Tanks in 1 model? Must be worth a fortune today... But I like your interpretation as well, It lost a bit of the agressive styling of the original with the smooth bodywork. But still recognizable. The added functions are nice, they are just things you expect in a model like this today. The change in color is sad imo, it would look way better in bright blue, but I know you had no choice. Well done!
  22. @RazzPinazzo Never mind about the Wheel hubs. I looked at a bad angle and my dumb a$$ thougth I saw These. Yes, the rules do say to stay as close to the original as possible. And you have done that very well with your chassis, and I applaud you for it. I myself think that bringing an old model into the new technic age also involves bringing the old functions up to scratch as well, so I would have appreachiated a more modern transmission design. 4 speeds is basically never used anymore. But that's just my take on the matter, others might think differently
  23. @Seasider I don't mind a increased part count, in fact I think it is good thing! But I think the the bigger models should also offer some improved and updated technic funtions. And I also think it should be built with bricks that are not outdated. The wheel hubs used here have not been used for over a decade.
  24. Personally I'll vote for the builds that not only use newer pieces, but also refresh the styling and upgrade the functions to something more modern. In this build, with so much empty space inside, a 8 speed gearbox (or a 6 speed manual) would have been a must for me. Just copying the technic solutions of the original model isn't really interesting imo. No offense, this was probably a good bit of work too, but for me the innovation is missing.
  25. If the reason for the screws really is a rechargable battery, I can understand it somewhat. You wouldn't want your kid to stab the rechargable battery and set it on fire, and after you paid an extra 70+ EUR for it as well. Kids can be stupid
