Damn. I doubt they'll be much use to me then. The hood is generally only ~10 studs high in that area so mounting a 9L shock seems problematic for a "normal" car. Might be useful for some exotics, mounted horizontally like in a pushrod style suspension system, or for offroad cars that are just higher in general. -

I wonder if one per wheel would be enough to support a 1:8 car. How long is that shock absorber? -

I wonder about that rear shock absorber, how powerful is it? More than the 6.5L extra hard shocks would be awesome, but probably not. -

Oh yeah, I will gladly pay more than 10 cents per piece knowing half the pieces are just pins that cost basically nothing What I think is kinda weird is that they didn't even use the new tapered panels introduced in the Porsche pullback car. Those bricks looked like they were made for bikes... -

17cm wide? That can't be right. Did they measure the mirrors? No way it has only a 3speed with that width! -

+1 Every new set is just a parts pack for me. Doesn't really matter what the set looks like, I just want new bricks -

Obviously, there was no way TLG could have made working brakes. A lot of cool functions would have been possible on this bike, but not working brakes. -

@StudWorks The 180SX has been more or less complete for a while now, but i have still been making minor improvements. But since I have reached a stage now where I can't find anything I could improve any more, I have started working on making building Instructions two days ago. The MOC is splattered in subsections all over my table right now

I like how you used the gear rack piece as a structural part, basically a 14×2 L-Beam, and not to use it as a gear rack. Well done. -

The overall Idea of reducing weight as much as possible to increase offroad performance is visible (holes) but I do think it is executed pretty good. Only thing that really bothers me is the front bumper facing upwards. Looks like it had a front end collision... But overall a very nice and capable creation!

I agree. I think one danger of being an experienced builder is that you start to reuse solutions that work well for every MOC again and again, instead of trying to find a new silution that might work better. @Edwin Korstanje has probably built a ton of Ships using this technique, and it makes sense if you view building the MOC as work for a client that should take as little time as possible. New parts and solutions appear over time and older solutions become less popular. But it is the choice of each MOCer to innovate or to stay with the old ways.

Nice usage of these bent panels inside the front wheel wells! Simple and elegant solution. Never thought of it. Well done!

Very lucke the LEGO Titanic is the same scale. Everybody needs a friend, ships too! I build all my supercars in 1:8 scale too, because displaying them together makes it way cooler imo. Same here!- 74 replies

Wow, compared to the real pictures you hit the nail on the head I think. A ship entusiast would probably recognize it at once! As I said before I am not really happy with the "blocky" nature of the slopes in the front and back, using bricks mounted at an angle like in the LEGO Titanic would have been a better solution imo. Especially that blue area in the rear that now has a "stepped" look to it would have been pretty simple to mount at an angle instead. The rest of the ship looks super smooth and clean! You should be brave and try to work with some angles in the angled sections. And I just now noticed that the small structure on top must be like a crane system on rails used to move the cover plates! Very cool! I know this would be a challenge, but it would be even cooler if it would actually work with RC motors! Well done.

@sm1995 yes, I could. But it will appear again and again at the top of the front page, while new topics disappear to the second page even quicker( which probably wasn't a problem the Scale modelling Forum had lol). But it is posting behaviour that puts people that just post their MOC and wait and hope for some feedback at a disatvantage, and they'll feel like bumping their own topics too. Bumping your own topic repeatedly for no reason is what I'd consider "bad posting behavior". "update" is not the right word to use here. The MOC is done already, nothing has changed that would require an update. I appreachiate WIP topics that are actually interesting, where the other users can watch a build grow and discuss ideas and solutios with the MOC creator. This however is no WIP thread but simply an excuse to repeatedly bump your own topic. I will leave it at that, do as you wish. I just wouldn't want EB to become like Facebook and such where cool MOCs are disappearing if you don't check back every 30mins because of stuff like this.
