Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Wow! I love how you did it too. -
Honestly though. If they were going to re release a fire station, why didn't they choose the one from 2013. The 2013 looked better.
-
Get the 2014 one. The building to that one was so nice and easy to customize.
-
You mean it was used before 2020. The current box art is used on all 2020 and 2021 sets. Not just the adventures themed sets. The one that's on the re-released fire station is literally from 2019. I still don't think that Lego should've used 2018-2019 box art on a 2020s set. Say I've got OCD if you want, but it's just out of order to me - given that other sets with that same box art are being killed off soon. ........and there were still characters that they haven't done for City yet. Like Buster or Fendrich. If 2022 is nothing but re-releases, I'm exiting the City fandom. That'll be kinda disappointing as I was looking forward to seeing new designs.

@_TLG_ I second what Noah said. Plus I also love how you made it to accommodate two people instead of one. Nice cameo by Daisy Kaboom too.

Yeah! I say I'm too late though because City doesn't oversaturate with police anymore. So the joke is kinda dead. But ngl though, I wouldn't mind seeing a set where they're chasing a crook's hot air balloon in a police hot air balloon.
-
Ok! I know I'm at least two years too late with this joke. But Hot Air Balloon Police anyone?

It would definately bring some closure to the various complaints on these forums about there not being any castle sets. Castle's State: I N R U I N S

A forest subtheme sounds great. Forest Exploration was something I've been fighting for the City theme since explorers subthemes started. Only for me, the forest subtheme would focus on the ancient castle ruins just outside of the city limits.

Oh dang it! 30th anniversary is correct. I did include a charging station and a green electric vehicle in the petrol station..... Most definately
-
So I came up with a subtheme to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Octan Corporation as Octan has been the gas station company in Lego City since 1992. Though my ideas would be more geared towards the Octan Cup racers rather than the gas station aspect. So without further to do, here are my ideas for a Petrol subtheme. Road Rescue - Perhaps some type of broken down car (why don't we try orange or yellow instead of blue or red) along with a tow truck that's the same size as the one from 7638, but somewhat of a nod to the Octan tow trucks of the mids 90s and early 2000s. Race Car Transport - I haven't seen something like this since 2013 when they had the Grand Prix Transport. Given that haulers sell, why not have another one of those. But unlike the the 2013 Grand Prix Transport, this race car transport will have three race cars instead of one. Similar to the indy transport from the 90s. Perhaps the cars could be blue, green and yellow just like them. That would probably go for almost $40. Petrol Transport - As its name suggests, this is a fuel truck like the ones from 2010 and 2013. Race Car Duel - Similar to the fast track finish set - only difference being the road plates being updated to today's standards. The race duel includes a tower where the announcer speaks and an audience stand along with a road plate with a finish line. Red and black cars for this one anyone? Petrol Station - The base set of this subtheme that would go for about $90 or $100. Includes snack shop, garage, car wash gas pumps, electric charging station and Octan versions of Harl and Tread from the television show. Vehicles could include two civilian cars (a blue petrol powered car and a green electric vehicle) and a special Octan colored race car on display that's a nod to 6546. So those are my ideas.

Never been a modular guy. But how about some type of regular office? That's something I'd like to see. 🏢
