  1. Yeah! It seems like City has been leaning more and more towards civilian sets. Police and Fire seem to have taken a back seat. I guess they just don't sell like that anymore. Same with wild outdooezy stuff. I know AFOLs who are teachers would be excited that they are getting some semblance of respect in Lego City. I'm glad they also broke the 6 year apart plan with the new hospital. It's not a 4+ set either. Bonus for us. Amazingly enough, along with the school, hospital, park and lifeguard tower, I am also looking at the new police and fire stations. If they are good builds, they are all definitely on my buy list with the school being the first. I like the 3 in 1 restaurants from Creator too. But I prefer the food trucks from City. I hope they make that a thing for the theme. I still think they should do a salad truck. 🥗 Don't forget about the female Fire chief from the 2019 fire station 60215. I can tell she may have been a nod to Freya as she is also wearing glasses. Yeah true Now if City were to have a spa or a barber shop or a beauty salon in one of their sets, I will officially see more hope for the theme than I do now that I'm hearing of a school set with a school bus.
  2. @TeriXeri I don't even consider City and Friends to be rivals. Friends seems to be strictly towards girls while City seems to be geared towards both boys and girls as, like you said, there are both male and female characters. City is pretty much what you want it to be.
  3. If they show up today, I'm going to be psyched.
  4. Some Friends sets should have road plates too.
  5. I guess big planes don't really sell as well as little planes like the 2020 mail plane do. Plus sets like this don't usually stick around for long. I've been to my local department stores and couldn't find it.
  6. I KNOW!!!!!! I can't wait to see pics myself. I'm in suspense.
  7. Rocket Racer is the first one I'm getting.
  8. Johnny Thunder has decided to upgrade his wardrobe I see.
  9. Yes! That way, we would have an emergency subtheme every year. Yooooo! I hope the school is one of those leaks.
  10. Now THAT I can agree with. Police, Fire and Medical being on a three year rotation sounds like a wonderful idea.
  11. Maybe wild outdoorzy stuff doesn't sell all that well like it did during the 2010s. That could explain why this years exploration subtheme was only limited to four sets.
  12. THANK YOU!!!!!! Someone finally agrees with me. I agree with everything said here. I mean think of it this way; we don't have a subtheme called "Trucks" or "Planes" or dare I say it, "Police Cars". So why should trains get special treatment. Subthemes should be limited to popular jobs or industries such as police, fire, medical, public transport, farm, etc. Not to vehicles or environments (but the latter is another story). With that being said, merge Great Vehicles into town (which would represent less popular lines of work) and put certain ones into their respective subthemes. Though for the fuel car and auto transport, recent cargo trains have pretty much covered those. BTW, I love the idea of a hospital train. Ever since I saw Jangbrick's video on his custom trains, I have been fighting for Lego to do one of those. A police and fire train too. EDIT: If they plan on bringing Coast Guard back, there used to be trains that were owned by the navy, coast guard and marines that were used to transport soldiers and supplies to the bases. Then there are breakdown trains that exists in real life too, especially in the United Kingdom, that are used to tow engines and rolling stock that are broken to the shop - which would be a good thing for a garage subtheme like the one in 2009.
  13. Anything would be better than those. World City was literally the lowest of the low for town based sets.
  14. Speaking of passenger trains, I still want Lego to do a public transit subtheme for City with an EMU commuter train. You can put the cargo train in the cargo subtheme.
  15. Funny enough I was thinking about a cargo subtheme revival with a ship dock as the base set instead of a land based cargo terminal.
  16. I'm glad there is such a topic on this forum.
  17. If the 2022 buildings are good, they'd be my first purchases. The school is definitely on my list.
  18. I hope so. I'm getting anxious.
  19. Though children probably don't want to be reminded of Covid in their imaginary Lego worlds....perhaps the 2022 hospital anyone?
  20. Yes! I'm saddened that Lego hasn't done F1 in a while. Last time was during the 2016 wave of Speed Champions.
  21. Got some F1 car ideas Black #1 Vita Rush Sponsored F1 car Yellow #2 City Pizza Sponsored F1 car Red #3 SPORT Sponsored F1 car White #4 Octan Sponsored F1 car Blue #5 Octan E Sponsored F1 car Green #6 City Bank Sponsored F1 car
  22. This year was Stuntz. I hope they do a similar thing like they did with the atunt bikes only with F1 cars. Gotta be real. The Turbo Wheels subtheme of 2020 was kinda lame. I'll post ideas on the Ideas for City sets page.
