  1. but please please dont let me wait too long. my e69 005 loco that ill build irl some time this year will need a motor and i dont want to have to buy a 20+ years old motor that has been abused for her.
  2. sliding (or atleast pop out doors) can be made in the same way the doors of the big lego airplanes are made: by using some b1 droid arms and some bar pieces it should be pretty easy

    Modern factory

So after depicting what manufacturing looked like in the 19th century now we are moving on to state of the art 21st century technologies. in this post i will step by step build a modern day manufacturing plant (made smaller ofcourse). first on is the transportation backbone of any modern factory: little automated vehicles called agv's: next up is a pretty important piece of machinery that is found everywhere: a modern day industrial robot arm: here an inside view: i will post my progress here! edit: first layer is 90% built including a welding robot with tinted cell windows for eye protection of factory workers. rear view: the machines to shape the product have not yet arrived but the robot arms have edit2: second layer added: second layer includes an automated warehouse with a robot that moves the goods around the storage spots. the agvs come into it via a goods elevator. here is the whole building so far. next layer will be the final one which is office space. hope you like it so far!
  6. there are much more curves on the market than straights simply due to the fact that lego produces more curves than straights. the rest is supply and demand
  7. there is always too little space no matter how much of it you seamingly have!
  8. someone is into puns i see.
  9. really nice model! gives a very "cityish" feel. looks like something lego could do in a set.
  10. @Pendra379v rails arent the issue here since the locomotive itself uses the powered up system. why is play value an issue. lego is a toy at its core for crying out loud.
  11. integrating the monorail wont be too bad as you can make it run above street level and even straight through a modular as this builder shows: https://www.1000steine.de/de/gemeinschaft/forum/?entry=1&id=339616 btw. nice looking city! i like the light gray roadplates with the modulars more than them with the dark gray ones
  12. studio is pretty good as it is newer and has all the new pieces in it which ldd doesnt - as far as i know. yes building with it is a bit different to ldd but it works super well once you get used to it and it has the option to position parts in ways lego never intended. my digital lego building journey started with ldd aswell but as i got back into it i discovered studio and it was pretty cool having all these options to place bricks in any way i wanted.
  13. yea true there arent a lot of details in the cab area you are right.
  14. looks pretty good! i think the class 143 needs a little more detail at the front but idk but the 111 looks solid.
  15. and here is the station: here is my version of it:
  16. Another one: the sydney monorail! the sydney monorail ran around a small loop connecting the central business district with the darling harbour and chinatown areas. due to low demand it closed in 2013 due to low demand and comparetively high maintenance costs. as far as i know there are some remnants of the stations and some signs still left in sydney. but without further talking here is the model: it is based on the first version of my monkey park monorail with different windows because i noticed it has some similarities to the sydney monorail. i may also build a station
  17. i dont have to worry about fitting a battery box with my 9v mocs hehe. besides i have shown here that you can fit a battery in pretty much anything if you are not a purist. you just have to be creative. dont let them intimidate you @Eki1210! here is my detailed realistic e69 005 and this one is 6 wide! so dont let others intimidate you.
  18. nice work! nothing stops you from making perfect replicas in 6 wide. it is just more of a challenge...
  19. this one reminds me of an insect hotel with its round tan tubes. nice classic tower block
  20. true true. i have just made a dropbox shared folder with my mocs in it for anyone to enjoy. just studio files instructions would be too much work for each model i build. speaking of it i need to add my new models to the folder. i will maybe do instructions for my octraintober submissions.
  21. wait didnt lego prevent you from submitting it for bs reasons? i guess they have realized the stupidness of their action now
  22. welcome! feel free to post some of your train mocs here.
  23. i ment more that it is a niche market for the lego group not that it is a nice market in general. but yes a split power (or any sort of 9v train motor with metal wheels for power pickup) should do the job nicely.
  24. the thing is there isnt much of a train market to begin with but thats another story. for the casual i play with city trains type the powered up thing is ideal. just pop in the batteries and go. but if you want to build smaller locos or really get into it (atleast for me) powered up just doesnt cut it unfortunately. too large, eats batteries, too little official ways of expanding (yes i know pybricks exists), just not for me. i and many others here are not the target audience for such products. these are designed with children in mind at their core. fxbricks fxtracks is however designed with us, the afols and enthusiasts in mind and i do think it will be quite popular as the requirements for us are totally different.
  25. i prefer all dcc i dont like batteries and having to integrate them into a smaller locomotive which is the type i usually build and can live with the trade offs but to each their own i guess
