Need help identifying the trains and getting an idea about the value
XG BC replied to Enigma1612's topic in LEGO Train Tech
this lot is insane! i think you have stumbled upon a gold mine there. i cant seem to find my jaw either might need to look downstairs -
continuing the mariazellerbahn trains here is the train that replaced the 1099: the himmelstreppe or heavens stair. these are panoramic sightseeing cars attached to the train. most difficult part was getting the wheels (contrary to the original only 2 axles instead of 4 for aestetics sake) to dissapear under the wagons. 90% of the wagon is actually built upside down with the exception of the roof. this is the main units middle car: it is built similarly to the panoramic car except it has even more snot in it. especially the door was just a snot nightmare. i havent built the ends yet as i didnt have the motivation for them yet. door area of this one needs to be improved aswell as the white streches all the way to the bottom of the car on the original. more details could also be added to the roof area where the pantographs sit.

[MOC] 84 - a winning train deserves a bridge at its height

the bridge looks awesome with all the sand green and tan colored parts! -
nice one! i think another problem is traction which will be solved with adding the locos body.

pid controllers require tuning the amount of p the amount of i and the amount of d in order to prevent the robot from beeing to slow to react or to fast. if you reach the perfect amounts you get a result like you did. my post was referring to the one above that pid controllers are impressive. they are but only if you manage to get the amounts of p i and d correct.

will be curious to see how you go about it!

the reason nowadays nearly every device uses dc from the power supply is because now the power supplys are switch mode which means internally they chop the voltage to much higher frequencys to get away with using a smaller transformer and smaller components in general as chips/silicon has gotten chep while copper is getting more and more expensive.

there are different ones in use today. the ref and cream one was used by the öbb before the takeover and i think one is still painted this way for historical purposes. the brown one and the gold brown one are in use today in the "ötscherbär" tourist train.

my turn with small electric locos: this is the ÖBB br1099 used on the mariazeller bahn narrow gauge railway. it is one of the oldest locomotives still in use with it beeing over 100 years old though it has now been replaced by more a modern train called the himmelstreppe or heavens stairway. this is the original body from the factory: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/NÖLB_E#/media/Datei:NoeLB_E1_1911.jpg later it was rebuilt into a more modern body while keeping the same undercarridge and electrical systems: after that it was repainted several times: after the öbb sold the railway to a different organisation some of the locos where repainted for the tourist train "ötscherbär" another livery:

have you looked at cirquit cubes yet? their motor and bluetooth hub should fit. but lego components would be a bit tougher unless you used a 9v micro motor and hid a battery in a car

sticking to the topic of power generation/distribution here is the first lower half of a hydroelectric power plant. the small train is for inspection purposes further progress will be posted soon

GBC General Discussion

another module made digitally. this time a vertical sweeper style module with two output modes: one to the side and one straight on to the next module: the sweeping mechanism is angled via just stacking the yellow plate onto the blue plate and onto the black technic brick. is a surprisingly firm connection. power is transmitted to the wheel via an arrangement of gears which transmit power from the central shared power drive axle to the angled sweeping mechanism. edit: if you are wondering what the yellow flexible rod is for in the background have a look at my video(s).- 1,124 replies

shouplnt be an issue. i ran a tram with a 9v block and a pf train motor once before switching to 9v metal track and it worked fine for a longer period of time
