the top gear episode with the train made of a car as the locomotive and camping trailers as the wagons comes to mind...

nice one and well done in terms of angles and such. i know irish/british trains are harder to do because of their shape.

[WIP] Lego monorails. [Custom Rail Systems (CRS)]
XG BC replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Train Tech
read through the thread and you will find out. the monorail rides on a single rail (in his case made of the old 12v center rail pieces) using normal lego tires. one or more of them are driven by a lego motor. on the sides it has guides that guide it through corners. -
depends on what you want to build. for wheels youd normally use https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=50254#T=C

thats how different people are i guess.

in my opinion the passenger train looks weird and out of proportion. the nose lenght doesnt match the rest of the front car. it looks so much better redesigned as @JayCal did in his/her "nose jobs" thread. i actually like the redesigned version with a different nose.

Adding motors, lights and sensors to a single hub
XG BC replied to Desvejk's topic in LEGO Train Tech
not if one motor only uses like half the hubs capabilitys on the given port. if you use two you are then going to use more of it giving you more output power. -
the green looks sooo much better than the lego version

welcome!

the light prism holders could be replaced by regular 1x1 modified bricks but you loose the lighting then obviously unless you use smd leds and mod the 1x1 modifieds to allow the cables to run through them. -

speaking of 7740 in lufthansa colors here it is: as you said the doors are not available in this color. you would have to use stickers. -

i think his post added useful information to the topic. besides why open a new one if what he built matches the topic perfectly? i mean generally the rule makes sense but here? -
