Thanks very much :) Yeah, I think most people’s instinct would be to go for the Imperial version, in fact it is. That’s pretty much the only Corvus that is ever made in Lego. Just as most people make Imperial Star Destroyers. But I like to challenge that a bit and make stuff that everybody else isn’t making. I did the same with my last moc, The Gladiator Class Star Destroyer. It’s about time some of these lesser known ships got some Lego TLC ;)

Hi all, this is my latest MOC, The Rebel Alliance Corvus from Star Wars Battlefront 2 Halfway through the story campaign for the game, Iden Versio, Commander of Inferno Squad, defects to the Rebel Alliance taking the Imperial Corvus Raider with her. The ship is given a new republic style overhaul and a flash new paint job (which still manages to look worn out). At 84.5 cm long, about 5,000 pieces and 8 kilos in weight, this is my recreation of that ship in LEGO bricks, made mostly using the SNOT technique. And here is me for scale: Huge thanks to Jerac for his help and advice whilst I was creating this, without whom, at one point I would have binned the whole project. You can see more in my Flickr album at: https://www.flickr.com/photos/164260086@N06/albums/72157719046483104 Or follow me on Instagram: @rubblemaker_lego Thanks for looking. :)

The interior of the Eviscerator is made with about 3 times as many technic pieces as the Monarch. These 2 pictures are really bad ones to make a comparison from. The Eviscerator is a really spectacular looking model, but Onecase really knows how to photograph his Mocs. 2Impaireds ISD is incredibly polished and doesn’t have the studded look that the Monarch does. So if you prefer the studless look (as I do) that’s the better choice.

[MOC] 70cm long, 4,500 piece Gladiator Class Star Destroyer

Thanks very much :) Yeah it does look a bit like a Star Destroyer that has wrapped itself around a tree doesn't it. -

Thanks! They’re taken with my phone. Though I did also use a pro backdrop, tripod and remote switch, but it just goes to show you don’t necessarily need a DSLR these days, phones are becoming so good for photography. -

My feelings exactly, hence why I tackled a rarely seen ship. Bout time we started seeing some different star destroyer types given some TLC. -

Lol. Thank you! Just uploaded some pretty moody light brick images of it to my Flickr page that you might be interested in. -
[MOC] 70cm long, 4,500 piece Gladiator Class Star Destroyer

I think standard ISD’s have been done to death. We now have 4 unbelievably brilliant large scale versions and countless smaller ones (not counting the numerous official Lego versions). Do we need to see more? How many more ways can an ISD be done in Lego. Choosing this one was a conscious decision to do something different in the star destroyer navy. Something we haven’t seen much before. I think if I do another one it’ll be along the same lines. Perhaps an Onager or Praetor. For now though, I’m taking a well earned break! ;) -

Thanks, made the whole interior up to be honest, couldn't find any references online to it. Cheers, I really loved doing the WIP stuff. Going to do more of that in the future I think. Thanks. Yeah, gotta love those little trophy dudes! :) -

Thanks. The hull pattern is deliberate. I just realised the link I posted for my ref material is an old one. Have updated it above. -

Cheers. When I started doing that I was like... oh no.. this is just going to look pants. But, it worked! surprisingly well. -

Thanks, it's certainly a possibility, though it would be a serious challenge to build. Some parts of it are incredibly difficult to do (I'm looking at you bottom hull plates!) Which could speak more about my design choices actually. But as I say.. it could be done. -
The Gladiator Class Star Destroyer isn’t a well known ship from Star Wars lore (unless you play Armada) but there are tales of it here and there on the web. Here’s the Wookiepedia page for the main reference I used for mine: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Gladiator-class_Star_Destroyer/Legends I started work on this on the 23rd February so it has taken me exactly one month of designing and building. I don’t use Stud.io or LDD so the whole thing was built practically. It has a full technic skeleton inside with several ‘ribs’ that meet in the middle so the chance of the wings sagging is pretty much non-existent. I really liked the subtle markings on the references I found so decided to pick them out in dbg. I think this sets it apart from many traditional star destroyer Lego designs which tend to favour lots of small raised areas dotted across the hull instead of any type of patterning. I didn’t intend it to have any sort of interior but as I built the mid section, which house the hangar at the front, it just seemed like a missed opportunity not to do something with it so I created 2 rooms, the Tie hangar bay itself and a generator room behind it. The whole thing weighs 7.5 kilos. Here is me for scale. The full album can be found on my Flickr page here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/164260086@N06/albums/72157718755411713 Thanks for looking.

Epic rock work! Fantastic moc!

He held a poll on his instagram page. This poll was to decide the name of his upcoming ISD moc. He wrote this in the post: Since the name ‘Avenger’ is taken by great designer @mortesv , I need a new name for my next ISD. Which one is your favorite? The four choices followers were given in the post were: Basilisk, Bellicose, Monarch and Nemesis. Followers voted for Monarch and Nemesis went on to become the name of his midi scale ISD. Sounds like he just didn't realise the Monarch was a victory class. I'd also agree with Jerac that it is a Mk II ISD. Hope this helps to answer your question :)

Easily the best Bird of Prey moc I’ve ever seen. Amazing job!

Really amazing collection here. My favourites are the Brute, Emporers Royal Guard and the Mining Guild fighter. Fantastic work!

Thanks! You know... I think I agree with you

I’m good, but not that good ;) The stands are from Wicked Brick. They’re hugely overpriced and take forever to be mailed out but they do the job!

Thanks! This was one a larger fleet of class based attack craft I created last year :)

Thanks dude :) Ugh, those wedge plates. Just breathe on them and they fall off. They’re connected with a 1x1 handle to a 1x1 clip. Mixels would have been a good idea if there was room but at this scale space is tight everywhere :( Actually your point about the round pieces you used on your Tie is interesting when you consider that they fit the engines of the official Razor Crest set perfectly too, it shows how out of scale some official sets can be. Looking forward to seeing your Razor Crest one day!

For about a year now I’ve been trying to create my own Razor Crest. Each time I’ve never really gotten much further than the curved front section. However I realised that not establishing the scale I would build at in the first place has been the main problem. So for this one I settled on midi scale. This proved to be the key and I was then faced with the question: how much detail and proportional accuracy can be achieved at this scale? So after much studying of the ship itself I tried to include as many of the major design elements of it as I could, starting with opening doors on the side and back. A crucial part was to make sure the engines were the right scale to the ship body as the official set failed magnificently at this. Luckily the VTOL moc I made prior to this had rotor engines that were exactly to scale so I just needed to re-create them, with some minor alterations for the different connection methods. I stopped looking at Razor Crest Mocs (… except maybe Jeracs) a few weeks ago so that I wouldn’t be influenced by others parts usage but I accept other RC moc builders may have come to the same conclusions I did whilst building. But for the scale, I think it came out ok. It’s the first Star Wars ship I’ve created since my Nebulon-B in January. All year I’ve just been creating stuff from my own head so it was nice to actually have an existing design to try and replicate. Thanks to Ron McPhatty for his usage of the curved corner pieces on his official set mod, I remembered them towards the end of the build and as it happened they were the perfect size for my engines. Anyway, as ever, for anyone interested the full album can be found on my Flickr page here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/164260086@N06/albums/72157717495442728

Thanks very much :) Someone on my Flickr page made that same observation. I'd seen the movie years ago but the ship itself never stuck in my memory. So then I googled it after the Flickr comment and yeah! it really does resemble the Jellyfish. Honestly one of those things you find out after you've finished a build. I genuinely hadn't based it on anything whilst creating it. :)
